Chapter 1385: I Will Paint the North in Blood as My Engagement Gift to You

Clad in a black coat, Lu Yeming had just traveled thousands of miles to see her. His eyes were calm yet his gaze seemed to be filled with frost and violence.

The manservants trying to touch Jun Xiqing froze. “You… who are you? Is Ah Jiao’s Room a place you can just enter as you please?’

“What he meant was, get out now!” the Butler sniped arrogantly.

They spent most of their time in Ah Jiao’s Room and mostly saw dignitaries. This was the first time they had seen someone with such an impressive aura.

He was not flashy at all and instead exuded an omnipresent aura of strength like an Emperor, making their hairs stand on end.

Lu Yeming didn’t even spare a glance at them and walked straight towards Jun Xiqing. His deep eyes were filled with the image of her soft and gentle figure.

“Hey, did you hear what I said…” The butler stepped forward.

Before he could take another step, a large palm swiped the st.u.r.dy whip from his hand, and with a loud smack and the sound of flesh being ripped apart, the butler and manservants were sent flying.

With a loud thud, they were flung onto the wall by the whip.

The clothes had been split apart, revealing a long, bleeding gash. They rolled on the floor in pain.

One of the manservants crawled along the floor, trying to reach for his baton when a polished black leather shoe stepped on him.

The manservant felt his hand being stepped on before his fingers broke with a loud crack.

The manservant trembled. This man was a monster. A devil!

Lu Yeming walked forward to Jun Xiqing who was kneeling on the floor with a rag in her hand. He slowly got down on one knee. He was a tall person, taller than her by almost a head, so he looked down at her from above.

The entire area was deathly silent, the staff who had been struck was convulsing silently on the floor, having just lost half their lifespan.

Lu Yeming looked at her and took off his black gloves gracefully. His long fingers pinched her delicate chin and his thin lips curved into a faint smile. “We’ve only parted for two days, and you’re already letting these lowlifes bully you?”

Jun Xiqing had a white veil over her face which obscured her face. Her bare forehead was small and delicate, her eyes clear and calm, like a stream in autumn.

Lu Yeming felt like she looked even more beautiful with the veil on, especially her eyes. There was no sadness, no weakness, and no tears in her eyes. They were bright and beautiful. These were a pair of eyes that were speaking to him.

Releasing her chin, Lu Yeming tried to take her veil off.

But she twisted her head away, avoiding him.

“Let me take a look, hm?”

He emphasized the ‘hm’, his voice especially low and magnetic.

Jun Xiqing held his hand and pushed it away.

She opened his palm and wrote a word in it – Ping.

Ping Ping was still being held hostage in Country Z.

Seeing this word, Lu Yeming laughed softly and said, “You went back to Country Z with a perfect plan and yet were defeated so thoroughly. It’s already hard protecting yourself now and you’re still worried about someone else? How silly.”

He was calling her silly.

Lashes fluttering, Jun Xiqing remained silent.

At this moment, someone walked in. A familiar voice called out to her. “Your Highness.”

Jun Xiqing raised her eyes. Fan Men was carrying someone in his arms. It was Ping Ping.

Fan Men didn’t want her on the ground since she had hurt her leg and held her tight in his arms. He only lowered her after they saw Jun Xiqing.

Jun Xiqing’s eyes lit up and she quickly stood up.

Ping Ping limped over to her as fast as she could and hugged her. “Your Highness, this is great! I can finally see you again.”

With a gentle push, Jun Xiqing immediately checked on her wound.

“Your Highness, I’m fine. It’s a small wound. President Lu sent Fan Men to Country Z to rescue me before we came over to Ah Jiao’s Room,” Ping Ping said happily through her tears.

Jun Xiqing turned to Lu Yeming and thanked him silently.

“President Jun, the Jun Family is too cruel, especially Jun Xiyan. What would you like us to do? Just say the word and His Highness will do it for you!” Fan Men said angrily.

There was a silence as Jun Xiqing looked at Lu Yeming with her bright eyes.

Walking forward, Lu Yeming held her soft hands in his. “Remember what I said to you three years ago? As long as you nod, I will personally lead my armies to destroy Country Z. I will paint the north in blood as my engagement gift to you.”

Jun Xiqing shook her head and wrote more words on his palms – I want peace.

Peace.

Ping Ping’s eyes filled with tears. How could anyone not love and respect Her Highness?

Lu Yeming raised his brow and looked at her with his deep eyes, a little contemptuously. “If you’re not just an idiot, then you’re definitely the reincarnation of a saint. Don’t you know to retaliate when someone has brought the battle to your doorstep?”

Jun Xiqing shook her head and wrote another word on his palm – tonight.

Tonight?

But she didn’t elaborate.

That was all she wrote.

Fan Men and Ping Ping both looked at Jun Xiqing quizzically. Only Lu Yeming noticed her deep, burning gaze.

But Jun Xiqing only turned around and left as Ping Ping rushed after her.

“Your Highness, what did President Jun mean by that?” Fan Men asked.

Lu Yeming looked at Jun Xiqing’s retreating figure as his thin lips slowly curved upwards…

In the room.

Jun Xiqing took a shower and changed into a white chiffon dress. She sat in the rocking rattan chair with a book in her hand, with the skirt dragging along the floor. She looked beautiful and at peace.

Ping Ping combed her soft hair from behind and said, “Your Highness, it’s night time.”

Oh.

Jun Xiqing put her book down slowly and walked over to the mirror. She lifted her hands and took off the veil.

Her beautiful, unmarred face appeared in the mirror. There wasn’t a single scar on her face.

A maid from Ah Jiao’s Room walked out and started whispering, “Quick, report back to Sister Yan. That sly old fox Yuan Ming has deceived us. He never ruined Jun Xiqing’s face!”

“Yes ma’am!”

Jun Xiyan rushed over in the deep of the night as soon as she heard the news and planned to meet Yuan Ming discreetly at a riverside.

Yuan Ming had rushed over as well. Jun Xiqing started questioning him angrily the moment she saw him. “Clan Head Yuan Ming, what is the meaning of this? I handed Jun Xiqing over to you on the condition that you would ruin her face, yet you betrayed me by leaving her face untouched?”

Yuan Ming stared at her in shock. “What do you mean? I ruined her face using a special acid. No doctor in the world will be able to help her regain her looks.”

“Yuan Ming, are you lying to me? This partners.h.i.+p is over!” Jun Xiyan turned and left.

“Stop!” With a contemptuous laugh, Yuan Ming sneered and said, “You think you can come whenever you want and leave whenever it suits you? You’ve been secretly working with the Clan Head of the Holy Lady Clan to harm Jun Xiqing. The real traitor of the nation is you!”
