Chapter 10

Sitting in a privileged position on the admiral's shoulder, the panda kept smacking his lips nonstop.

Even though he was confident since the big monster was with him, Mo GunGun still felt a bit uneasy. He carefully watched the path behind them disappear with a pair of bright, black eyes. However, rather than to the path, he paid more attention to the slightly drooping tail.

The panda studied the black tail that was covered with scales and the barbed tip. It looked particularly sharp and lethal.

Mo GunGun had witnessed this tail instantly kill a terrible bamboo rat. So, whenever it came closer to him, he instinctively felt fear and a sense of awe. He threw the bamboo shoots on his back and tied them up. Mo GunGun then laid down. The small panda, with his back facing the sky, wracked his brain.

Lu Xiao Qi looked sideways at the panda, subconsciously moving his tail. The little fellow followed it with his eyes as he stared enviously.

With doubt flickering in his eyes, Lu Xiao Qi turned forward and his tail moved.

He tried it out several times——

What caught the panda's interest was his tail.

Lu Xiao Qi: “………”

He was finally clear on what the little fellow's eyes were watching and felt a little helpless in his heart. At the same time, there was a strange ripple of self-satisfaction, but because the feeling was fleeting, he failed to recognize it.

His dragon scales are hard and sharp, which are extremely dangerous to a certain furry black-and-white dumpling. Even a slight careless move could inflict a serious wound.

Deep in the forest, something was gradually emitting an ominous odor. Mo GunGun's instinct told him that there was something wrong. Uncomfortable, he curled into a ball of fluff.

Lu Xiao Qi stopped walking and asked, “What's the matter?”

He took the panda into his hand as he carefully observed the small one's reaction.

The panda's black pupils stared at the big monster, blinking doubtfully. What did the big monster ask him?

With the warmth emanating from the monster's palm, he felt a lot more comfortable. The twitching of the panda's nose slowed. He rubbed the admiral's fingers and laid on his hand. Soon after, four short legs stretched out and hugged his palm tightly.

After holding it, Mo GunGun opened his mouth, then lightly bit and licked it.

Lu Xiao Qi: “………”

The admiral's body, which had faced countless battles, turned stiff. He had never been licked or touched by such a warm, wet thing…

Lu Xiao Qi looked at the sniffing panda and remained silent for a long time.

The big monster's face was expressionless and his eyes were fierce. However, Mo GunGun couldn't feel any murderous intent from the big monster.

The panda held his head up and boldly said, “Well.”

As he cried out tenderly, the panda squirmed his little b.u.t.tocks and licked the palm again, unknowingly almost dying without repentance.

Lu Xiao Qi: “………”

He decided that the small furball was the type  to take a mile if he gave an inch.

The big monster did not object to the carefully flattering little hairball, and his heart calmed down.

Meanwhile, Mo GunGun didn't know what the big monster wanted to say to him. He was afraid that the big monster would think that he was very annoying and would be so upset that he would toss him away, so he licked the big monster to try and curry favor with him.

The little panda secretly admired his own cleverness. It was as if he was taking root and curling up in the hands of the big monster.

Twisting his five fingers, Lu Xiao Qi gently clutched the small panda in his palm. He was soft and fluffy to the touch. It was very gratifying that this wild little animal not only did not try to escape, but even joyfully rolled around in his hand. The small head leaned against his hand and looked at him.

The cold-hearted man had waves stirring in his heart. He inexplicably felt that he wanted to hold on to this panda for the rest of his life.

He gazed deeply at the little guy who seemed carefree. Lu Xiao Qi's lips thinned as he suppressed a smile. It was a bit funny how, for the first time in many years, besides the Zerg, he was experiencing being close to another living creature. This little creature buried into his heart and managed to suppress his killing instinct.

Stepping forward, Lu Xiao Qi's cold heart warmed up a little bit.

This small one… is good.

Both of them felt that they were very lucky when they found a fruit tree. It was abnormal to see such a tree growing in the forest, but the admiral was sure it was an apple tree. The orbs on the tree were big and red, but hadn't been picked by other animals because they were surrounded by a ring of carnivorous flowers.

Many ripened fruits had already fallen to the ground and were half rotten.

Mo GunGun stared at the red fruit and sniffed the air carefully. His eyes instantly lit up.

What an amazing scent! What is that? He had never smelled anything like it before!

It must be super delicious!

Mo GunGun could not help but poked his head out of Lu Xiao Qi's enclosed hand, and a pair of black eyes glued themselves to the fruit.

After a moment of meditation, Lu Xiao Qi jumped over the circle of carnivorous flowers, landed on a tree, then picked up several fruits and stuffed them into his pocket and jumped back on to the familiar road.

If he hadn't been a mutant with strong abilities, his tail would've swept through the aggressive carnivorous flowers and spilled their mucus on the ground; the consequences were unimaginable. The mucus of the cannibalistic flower is highly corrosive. No vegetation could survive around the land where it grows. Once stained by mucus, the gra.s.s on the ground would corrode, turn black, and then disintegrate.

The furball laid over his shoulder with an apple in its arms. Lu Xiao Qi's actions were accomplished in one go, without any violence or impatience.

Stupidly sitting on the shoulder of the big monster, Mo GunGun blinked as he excitedly examined the apple roughly as big as his own body. After looking to the big monster for confirmation, he finally understood. Flattered and happy, he gratefully barked at the big monster, opening his small mouth and eating a tiny piece.

The mini panda sat on his shoulder chewing without pausing, and in a short amount of time, another apple was taken out of the big monster's pocket.

The birds' song deep in the woods gradually faded away, and the mood of Lu Xiao Qi became grave as he watched the rising fog in front of him.

Behind them, the path where they came from was clouded with a thick fog and the only clear path led further into the forest.

Something was wrong. There must be an evil spirit around. Lu Xiao Qi did not know what was ahead. As he hesitated, the detector on his waist sounded.

Lu Xiao Qi's pupils shrank.

There might be something he needs up ahead, but the sound of the detector was intermittent. According to the device, the closer the object, the faster the beeping speed. But strangely enough, sometimes it beeped fast, other times slow, and sometimes didn't beep at all.

So was the object that he needed alive?

Lu Xiao Qi needed a lot of materials, but each material had to be purified from minerals in the known interstellar system. Bioenergy was rarely used. However, in this primitive world, he could not guarantee whether some magical creature had the material he needed.

Lu Xiao Qi stared at the boundary of the dense fog and his dark pupils seemed to see straight through to what was going on inside. However, in truth, he was unable to see past it.

The heavy fog had an effect on the mutant Lu Xiao Qi, but it was useless to the eyes of a yin and yang panda.

The fog was like a blindfold, but through it, Mo GunGun could see two skeletons inside. Their eyes glowed green.

The two skeletal figures were fighting each other and rattled: "klackakaklackakaklackak."

Around them were countless stacks of white bones, with skulls of different races, both big and small.

The ground became black and red….

The monsters continued making unbridled attacks, seeming to care that intruders had entered their domain.

This lasted until a pair of green flames flickered twice. Mo GunGun felt a gloomy glare.

The undead with a smaller frame: “Oh, that little one seems to be watching us.”

The bigger skeleton: “Ah?”

The larger skeleton turned its head. Dark green eyes swept over him. It clearly used to be human, but it's eyes were full of killing intent.

The tiny panda was frightened silly.

The big skeleton grinned and said, “It's really an interesting little thing. It's something we've been looking for for so many years…”

The little skeleton's green fire suddenly burned brighter: “What? You mean, that's it?”

The big skeleton laughed wickedly as he said, “It should be. As long as we eat him, we really may be able to come back from the dead.”

The little skeleton excitedly flashed a ferocious light: “Then what are we waiting for?”

Mo GunGun didn't know what language they spoke, but he could understand them.

“Uh-huh-huh!” The panda suddenly curled  into a frightened ball of fur once he processed their words. He became so distressed that he didn't want the apple anymore and dived straight into the admiral's clothes.

Lu Xiao Qi's face remained unreadable while his pupils shrank.

The little fellow huddled in his clothes, trembling. He clawed at his chest, as if trying to dig a hole in him.

Lu Xiao Qi's body was so st.u.r.dy that even a black hole couldn't destroy much, let alone a tiny scratch from a weak animal.

Unaffected by the movements, Lu Xiao Qi patted the frightened panda.

After being pacified for two minutes, the trembling panda said: “Uh-huh-huh!”

He was afraid of the undead but still wanted to

See, so the panda tentatively poked his head out and looked into the thick fog. Upon sight, the panda was almost scared to death.

The skeletons stood near the edge of the fog, baring their teeth gloomily, rattling them up and down as they coldly stared at him and the big monster.

The look in their eyes seemed to say ‘What's the best way to get you into my mouth?'

The terrified panda tremblingly stretched out his paws: “Uh huh huh huh huh huh!”

He prompted the big monster to quickly escape, but the big monster just looked down at him and didn't show any signs of wanting to leave.

Mo GunGun panicked.

Look at what he's doing, the big monster is so stupid! It's dangerous, we must run away!

In fact, Mo GunGun misunderstood Lu Xiao Qi. While he could not see the magical species from another dimension, he could view a little through the pupils of the tiny fellow. Finally, he caught sight of two human figures standing near each other while emitting killing intent.

Lu Xiao's pupil shrank sharply.

A skeleton?

If it weren't for the reflection from the panda's eyes, he would have doubted whether or not he was dreaming.

It seemed absurd, but it was real.

Lu Xiao Qi took a deep look at the fog and straightened his back.

Skeleton: “Hey, is he looking at us? Is he also the same? Hhha, then we really are lucky!”

Admiral's confused face: Ugly? Am I ugly?!

Wifey: Everybody hairless is ugly!
