And since school is starting again, I have to mention that in this one scenario you absolutely have to be there early to A) meet your cla.s.smates (friends, old cla.s.smates, new cla.s.smates, etc.) before seats are a.s.signed/picked and B) to get a decent spot where you will most likely stay for the rest of the year. What is considered a good spot is completely biased based on your personal preference. There's nothing wrong with being early if it's considered normal.
