Taking a quick look at my current state, I managed to somehow reach the same realm as the town mayor, despite not possessing the golden core within my body at all! Even if shared my cultivation with Eve, it still felt kinda strange even though I never was in this realm before!

"Attempted a.s.sa.s.sination? Those are big words for a mere mortal realm cultivator! Not only did you rampaged here, almost causing some of the city guards to drop dead, you now dare to claim that Katenari Clan is at fault?"

With the numbers heavily gravitating towards the advantage for the City and Katenaris alliance, it was no wonder how the mayor could spew this bulls.h.i.+t with a straight face. To think that I took him for a rational man!

"Mortal realm? How silly of me to actually risk my life in breaking through despite my cultivation going berserk just for the sake of saving you all from harm!"

Shouting those words, I realised that I still had this strange, energetical sword in my hand. Upon inspecting its stats, I couldn't help but smile.

"If you really are going to raise a hand against a heavenly sword disciple, I can only hope that you have enough guts and power to back your words!"

"Bart! Stop it right now!"

With Venna moving up to break the line of sight between me and the city mayor, she looked sternly at me before turning back to the city official.

"Katenari's elder attempted to kill my disciple, and because of the wounds that he suffered in the process, his cultivation almost went completely berserk. At this point we should be glad that he is soo talented to reforge this potential calamity into his personal progress instead of going at each other throats, am I wrong?"

Posting her own sword down, she pointed out some facts right in the mayor's face, while sending a hateful look to the elder and his butler duo. 

"If you want to make a move on us now, you should realise that Natural edge sect already declared their full support for keeping the balance in the city, siding with our sect in this matter. Are you sure you want to go against both of our sects just because you failed to differentiated the victim from the villain?"

Las.h.i.+ng out at the mayor like no one before, Venna didn't even allow him to utter a word while pointing out more and more faults in his way of thinking. Hearing her words actually made me calm down. If natural edge sect was here to support us, there was no point in being wary at all! I guess I will really need to do my best while crafting a sword for them to properly express my grat.i.tude for this act of help!

"Even if I was wrong, it doesn't change the fact that he endangered everyone present, and even attempted a open murder on Katenari's clan official! Do you want me to let him go scot-free now?"

Seeing how neither side was willing to give up, I sank into my own thoughts for a moment, before hiding a sword back to my storage ring, raising my hands and coming out to the front of the formation.

"I want to say something that might calm this situation before it erupts into something that no one would like to see neither here or now. Do anyone see any problem with that?"

While this question was only a rhetorical one, all of the leaders apparently nodded their heads seeing how I came out without a weapon and clearly leaving my intention to fight behind.

"We are all in great emotions right now. I broke through and would like to reinforce my cultivation, exactly the same case being for my beloved, who actually risked her health to save me from the clutches of the death. You guys apparently suffered some great trauma from my hands during the time when my cultivation was about to go fully berserk, while Natural Edge Sect's seniors just want to keep the balance and are interfering just for the sake of preventing the unnecessary bloodshed from erupting. Since that's the case, why don't we just push this matter to a later date?

There was no point in b.u.t.ting heads right now. I hated Katenaris and so did my beloved. Katenaris hated me for daring to stand against them, while the city mayor had a grudge against me for what I was about to do because of my cultivation going berserk. Only my fictional story from before managed to save me from falling into the hands of death from the combined effort of everyone here. If only they knew that this disciplinary elder didn't make any attempts to take my life at all!

"I think this is a good idea. At this point, I guess your fiancee won't be able to take part in the next duel, forcing me to deal with some official matters first, to at least try to prevent all of the spectators and gamblers from tras.h.i.+ng the entire city in the wake of their rage… Let's deal with this matter three days from now, in an official court sitting. Is that all right with all the sides?"

Surprisingly, the city mayor actually accepted my proposition! Maybe he was just scared or furious at me because of my aggression before making his previous att.i.tude biased?

There is no point thinking about it now. All that matters is that I will get to finish my matters with Eve soon! Who cares about problems like this stupid fight, if I could simply take my beloved fiancee away and finish the matters that we started in a fake world, by repeating them in the real one? 

Taking a quick look at the current state of my body, there was no sign of actual exhaustion of the material, that could prevent me from happily going at it with a fresh start! Even if for some reason Eve would want to just focus on reinforcing her cultivation properly first, we could just go to the smithy, where I could check if I could make a special tool that I had on my mind already for Lucia, that would allow me to use her yin essence more efficiently! Considering how I was already halfway through the current system upgrade, I had to make sure that I had stable supply of the attribute points to max all my abilities and statistics, before venturing out for the sake of exping!
