“Pin~♪ Pon~♪”

Finally, the day of the pajama party arrives.

After waking up, eating breakfast, aired the futons and cus.h.i.+ons, and I’m finally taking a break when the door intercom chimes.

Apparently, one of the guests is here already. Honestly, I want to have a little more of a break.

“Yeah. Yeah.” (Kei)

When I look at the screen for the door intercom, I see s.h.i.+zuka standing at the door and saying something.

Kaori and Chiaki are behind her, but in front is s.h.i.+zuka.

I can’t hear what she’s saying, because I didn’t press the call b.u.t.ton, but, for some reason, I want to say it’s something like, “Is Kei awake?”

Let’s stop looking at the intercom and go to unlock the door to let the three of them in.

“Good morning.” (Kei)

There’s not a cloud in the sky.

I haven’t made any special plans for us to do anything at the slumber party, but it might be nice to go out.

“Kei, good morning!” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“Kei, good morning.” (Chiaki)

“…Good morning. (Kaori)

As usual, the three of them greet me.

“This is a big house.” (s.h.i.+zuka)

s.h.i.+zuka and Chiaki walk inside and look around. Speaking of which, this is the first time they have been to my house.

It’s not as if they would come to play at the house of a man who lives alone.

“You’re really close to Kaori's house.” (Chiaki)

s.h.i.+zuka and Chiaki might have come from Kaori’s house. Thirty seconds on foot is not far.

“Welcome.” (Kei)

“Sorry to disturb you.” (s.h.i.+zuka & Chiaki)

The three of them stop to take off their shoes and put on the slippers I have already laid out for them at the entrance.

“Kei, you’re really prepared for today.” (Kaori)

“Obviously, isn’t that natural since my friends are coming over to play?” (Kei)

I mean, she almost always comes inside without asking and she wears my slippers without permission.

(TN: Simply walking into someone’s house without asking or being invited is rude anywhere, but in j.a.pan it’s considered extremely rude and uncultured, even if it’s a close friend.)

“That isn’t what I mean.” (Kaori)

Kaori seems to be disgruntled about something, but I can’t simply leave s.h.i.+zuka alone, who is now wandering around by herself.

Ma~ I don’t need to worry about my childhood friend.

I don’t say anything aloud, but I chase after s.h.i.+zuka into the living room with an unhappy expression.

“It's cleaner than I thought.” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“No, I wonder if it’s messy.” (Kei)

This might sound a little strange, but it’s not like this is my room, so the living room doesn’t get that messy.

“….Do you mean that Kaori straightened up?” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“Hey, why would I ask her to do something like that?” (Kei)

Even as I am, I’m not so low as to have my childhood friend clean my house.

“Isn’t she a childhood friend?” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“That’s not why.” (Kei)

“Ahaha~” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“Mou~! Hey, let’s go to Kei’s room!” (Kaori)

“Wait just a minute.” (Kei)

No sooner do I tell her, than Kaori takes off up to the second floor. s.h.i.+zuka and Chiaki follow her, leaving me alone in the living room.

I sigh and slightly shrug my shoulders. Taking out some bottled drinks out of the refrigerator, I head up to my room.

“…This is more girlish than I thought it’d be.” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“Yes. I thought it’d be a little messy.” (Chiaki)

As soon as I enter my room, I hear some unexpected comments from the two of them.

“No way. What do you think I am?” (Kei)

I place the drinks on a small table as we sit down on the floor.

Each one is a different flavor, so I tell them, “Please pick your favorite one.” Everyone takes one while saying a word in thanks.

“…An ex-boy?” (Chiaki)

Chiaki replies to my question with a tilt of her head.

Oh, that’s true. I look like this now, but I was a man.

It’s not as if I don’t remember, but when I’m with them, I certainly don’t feel like an ‘ex-man.’

I feel natural in this body. That’s not a bad thing.

“Yeah, sure, that’s true.” (Kei)

“Yep. So, I hoped I could see a boy-like room, or rather, I expected it to be.” (Chiaki)

So, that’s it. Certainly, I’m unlikely to go into a boys room, and it’s not something worth worrying about.

…Speaking of which, I feel as if it’s been quite a while since I’ve been in Kaori’s room.

“My original room is totally different.” (Kei)

“Eh?!” (Chiaki)

“…Really?!” (s.h.i.+zuka)

When I say that, their eyes almost glitter, and you could have heard a pin drop.

Do you really want to see my room so badly? Hmm, I’d also like to see what their rooms look like. It might be a little helpful to me. At least, far more help to me than Kaori’s room.

“I want to see it!” (s.h.i.+zuka)

“…I didn’t live in this room then.” (Kei)

s.h.i.+zuka has been loud since this morning. No, I already know, so follow me.

“Alright, so my old room is this way.” (Kei)

After I open my drink and take a sip, everyone follows me to my old room when I was still a man.

It’s on this floor, so it’s close by. Heading out into the hallway, I open the door to my old room.

“Oh?” (Chiaki)

“…This is more normal than I thought it’d be.” (s.h.i.+zuka)

This is my room from when I was a man. It’s little more than a bed and desk. You can open the closet, but there isn’t much in it.

It’s also partly because I cleaned and organized in here after becoming a woman.

“…It's not normal. Keiichi's room is boring, isn’t it?” (Kaori)

…That’s one way of saying it, but she’s right.

I can’t help but agree with Kaori, who finally came in, so I simply shrug my shoulders.

“…True, but if you look through everything, you might find something.” (s.h.i.+zuka)

However, s.h.i.+zuka seems to disagree since her nose flares, looking eager to find something.
