Chapter 61 - Help Me Father!

Jacob was now neatly dressed up in his father's charcoal colored suit, looking at himself in the mirror. He had been recalling all the important points he had read last night, in his mind all this while. He took his file of papers, prepared by Isa, with him and stepped downstairs. It was already 1:00 pm, thus in another three hours the investors meet was to be held.

As soon as he stepped downstairs, Samantha came out from the kitchen hearing the foot-steps. She stood their motionless, stunned looking at the boy, dressed in his father's suit. For a few seconds she thought that her weak eyes are probably playing tricks on her and that she is seeing Jacob's father, descending down the stairs.

"Jacob? You? You look so good! Just like your father!" Samantha smiled touching the boy's hand, feeling overwhelmed.

"Wish me luck aunty! In another three hours is my first meeting for the company! That too, one of the most difficult meeting, the investors meet!" Jacob smiled, looking at the old lady who was still looking at him from head to toe in disbelief!

"What?! You have decided to go to the office?! Oh my G.o.d! I am so happy Jacob! I am sure your father is near you, and he must be feeling very happy too!" Samantha patted the boy's head and chanted some holy verses, with her eyes closed.

"Yes, he is with me." Jacob touched the soft fabric of the coat, with his hands.

"All the best my dear! Lord Buddha will protect you from every one's evil eye!"

"Thank you Aunty. I shall go and sit in dad's study! I need to study for a while. Then, I will be leaving directly from there only!"

Jacob quickly headed outside the house, his car already parked on the porch. He quickly sat inside the car and drove off further inside the premises of the Miller house, crossing all the gardens. Amidst a beautiful garden was situated a small spanish- style building, which was his father's study. He stepped inside the study, feeling nostalgic. Right in front of the door was his father's chair, on which he worked, till late night.

He walked upto the chair and sat on it, feeling happy. On the table was placed a small photo-frame, with a picture of the two of them. "Hi dad! I need your support today. Just be with me! Ok!"

Jacob sighed and opened the file, to read its contents again. Suddenly, his gaze fell upon a white colored envelope, placed neatly under a paper-weight!
