Episode 38 – Capital of [Country of Industry] – Afternoon

“Kantarou, over here”

I looked behind me and called Kantarou while stepping into a big crossroad. Even though it's still in the middle of the day, a lot of people are walking busily in this entertainment district. I started to walk too while thinking how I'm a bit fed up with a city that is prim and proper. I know that this is a bad manner, but I like to walk while smoking my cigarettes. Then as I continued my steps, I encountered wave of people that reminded me of the scene of ticket gate at a train station.

I usually use my peripheral vision, or to put it in another words, I put great importance at the blurry part at the edge of my sight. I looked carefully at the flow of people with my sight, and then I pa.s.sed through the crossroad while evading collision with any of the pa.s.serbies.

After I found a good spot to stop, I dropped my shortened cigarette and extinguished the fire by stomping it with my boot. Different world sure is nice, even if I do such things, no one will get angry at me.

“Gun-chan…… Wait please……”

I could hear someone's miserable voice, I turned my body around and stare while feeling annoyed. Kantarou's loud voice really stood out in the outdoor, I thrust my hands into my coat pocket and waited for him in a lazy posture.

Kantarou is pa.s.sing through the crossroad with erratic steps and spoke with carefree smile. Kantarou who have arrived right in front me is saying something that people from backwater village might say, except he's saying that proudly. While thrusting my hands into the pocket of my coat, I walked toward Rachel.
