Chapter 1 : Shu Xiaohui is still a small gray hamster

Shu Xiaohui emerged from the crevice. A pair of tiny black eyes vigilantly measured the surrounding situation, and determined that the nearby Cybernetic organisms did not locate him and had moved away. Shu Xiaohui summoned up his courage to move his small furry body and ran fast in the direction of the airdrop bag. His four claws almost had after images. After sprinting for a while, his small short claw finally made contact with the airdrop bag.

Simply and neatly, he put the airdrop bag into the small s.p.a.ce that became bigger after he transformed into an animal. The s.p.a.ce was not big, only a small part of the s.p.a.ce was left after the airdrop bag was placed in it.

Shu Xiaohui plunged into a gap next to it and sound of weapons from the cybernetic organism followed tightly behind. A large piece of gravel was blown up.

The vibration from the ground collapsed the hole that Shu Xiaohui had went in. If not for his quick-moving short claws, he'd be buried inside. Shu Xiaohui's small heart beat fast. He followed the crackhole and drilled into the underground air-raid shelter.

This air-raid shelter was the place where most survivors from this small town which Shu Xiaohui was located at were gathered.

After diving for a while in the air raid shelter, Shu Xiaohui threw the airdrop bag into the replenishment warehouse at the intersection of the ammunition, and looked at the remaining supplies for a while. Recently, there were more and more cybernetic organisms, the firearms reserve in the air raid shelter obviously was consumed too quickly, and he didn't know how long it would last.

Shu Xiaohui stretched his claws and rubbed his face. From the warehouse, he drilled into another warehouse in the air raid shelter.

The warehouse next to it was to store the foods. There were large variety of bulk foods, as well as a variety of packaged foods. These were strenuously obtained by the people who survived every day, and the ones responsible for this work included the former him.

Shu Xiaohui didn't need that much, he climbed up and down, picked some dried fruits, peanuts, corn, red dates and the likes.

After placing some of the foods in his own small s.p.a.ce, he drilled out of this warehouse.

These foods were the exchanges that he provided to the bomb shelter survivors for second hand guns dropped by the Air Forces.

It was not that he didn't want to go out and find food himself, as the nearby supermarkets, either had been collected by survivors before, or were ruined under the collapsed buildings, and he couldn't just manage with his small strength.

He also tried to find food in the residential building but after eating some unclean things, he was frustrated to find that his current small body couldn't handle some of those food.

Therefore, he can only rely on getting the rarer and more difficult airdrop weapon supplies to exchange for foods that his current body could bear.

A hamster consumed very little food every day. He did not take too much from the food storage warehouse. This exchange was actually very deficient. After all, a gun in an airdrop supply was enough to equip for ten people, but a certain hamster was still insistent, even if no one supervised, he still left the airdrop guns and only took away a small amount of food.

Shu Xiaohui was very much aware of the role of weapons for the survivors in the bomb shelter.

Originally he was also a person in the bomb shelter, instead of a small hairy ball with light silver-gray black and white belly.

A few days ago, he and some people, under the cover of other people with firearms, went out to a nearby residential building to collect some supplies. When he ran to the balcony on the second floor to move things, he was burned by the sudden light that descended from the sky.

The burning white light stung his eyes and his head was hurting horribly. He instantly lost consciousness and fell to the ground, like he was dead. Therefore, he was not brought back to the bomb shelter by other people.

When he woke up, he was already like this. He was soft and round, and his appearance was especially small.

He woke up solely in the residential building, and the moment he just woke up, he was immediately locked on by a Cybernetic organism. Fortunately, the attack was blocked by a solar panel that accidentally fell from other floors. And thus he was saved from being blown into flying ashes.

The panicked Shu Xiaohui stood up and wanted to run and he saw his short pink paws. He didn't know what happened, but when he saw the small gap in the ground, he felt an inexplicable feeling that he could get into it.

At the continuous attacks of the Cybernetic organism, Shu Xiaohui drilled all the way from the surface to the depths of the ground. Not only was he buried in the gravel clods, but he also fortunately touched the position of the air raid shelter.

However, after successfully escaping, Shu Xiaohui looked at the enormous air-raid pa.s.sage. After seeing the people and all kinds of things, he was stunned. He stretched his hands out and touch as to what had happened to his own body.

After that, he accepted the fact that after the end of the Tate's ma.s.sacre, he survived, and became a hamster, although he felt sad, but at least he was still alive.

Other than having a nimble small figure enough to protect himself, and also a small s.p.a.ce that could hold some supplies, but he really could not pick up any firearms to fight against the Cybernetic organisms.

Now all the people on this planet were defending against this common enemy, the Tate.

The Tate possessed a higher civilization than the human science. It was a tyrannical predatory race. It looked at the marine resources on the human planet. Without even negotiation with the humans, they first cast a wave of Cybernetic organisms to the planet.

These Cybernetic organisms carried heavy weapons with the goal of cleaning up the small civilizations on this resourceful planet in their eyes.

The first wave of Cybernetic organisms poured down from Low-Earth orbit like rainstorms, and the numbers were extremely large. After invading the atmosphere, they began to lock on at all the creatures on the planet to attack.

It was simply the end of the world, and all the effective weapons on the planet were activated, but they can only blocked some of Cybernetic organisms.

However, the technology of the Tate was too advanced, and some weapons from the planet had not even been activated and it was rendered ineffective, because the Missile's Intelligent Control System was being s.h.i.+elded and lost its effectiveness.

The planet was devastated and was in a state of utter despair. A large number of humans were killed by the Cybernetic organisms. Since then, the planet had been all armed to resist the attacks of these Cybernetic organisms.

There were a lot of air-drops every day, frequently delivered in all regions, all networks, TVs, mobile phones, and even the original unlimited radios, but all those who could receive signals under interference were all listening how to use all kinds of weapons, a.n.a.lyze the weaknesses and to attack the blind spots of Cybernetic organisms, and how to effectively avoid the pursuit of Cybernetic organisms.

Of course, there were still many people who called for the unity of all forces that could be united, that you do not become arrogant because you have weapons.

Under the pursuit of the common enemy and the crisis of being extinguished, although there was unrest caused by the whole population being armed, in general, people were unanimous.

However, more and more Cybernetic organisms were deployed by the Tate. They seemed to be impatient with human defense, and the attack power of semi-mechanical creatures was becoming more and more powerful. They were equipped with intelligent upgrade systems, using human resources for self-repair and self upgrade. At the same time, their tracking ability was also getting stronger.

More and more people were dying, and the number of airdrops was getting less and less. After all, in some places where survivors could not be confirmed, the indiscriminate throwing of firearms was largely a waste of resistance and resources to Cybernetic organisms.

  …………………..

Shu Xiaohui dug out along the wall to climb on top of a sunken stone cave inside.

After confirming that he was no longer a human, Shu Xiaohui naturally did not dare to stay in the simple bed inside the air raid shelter, fearing that he would get trampled to death by those who were not mindful.

In this small cave, there was a medical cotton wool that Shu Xiaohui got, it was just as big as two of his two fists, as they seemed to be small but now he became a small hamster, the inside of the wool was dry and soft and very comfortable, Shu Xiaohui drilled inside, as he ran so much along the way, he wais a little sleepy.

Just as he was dazed, he heard someone whispering below. Shu Xiaohui stretched his head and took a look at the two of the more powerful people in the air raid-shelter. He knew them because they dared to shoot out the Cybernetic organisms, so all survivors in the bomb shelter also known them, they were Li Chitian and Fan Dong.

After the two men got here, Fan Dong glanced around and determined that there was no other person nearby. He pulled out a square radio that was removed from the car and it was similar to the hard disk on the computer. As he switched on the radio, the sound of the cheerings came out from inside. Fan Dong adjusted for a while, and various mixed voices came out.

Shu Xiaohui erected his small round ears and tried to listen to the news from the radio.

Shu Xiaohui faintly heard one thing. The Tate in outer s.p.a.ce seemed to have been eliminated. There would be no more Cybernetic organisms besides the ones that were still raging on the planet.

And there was another thing to be happy about; rebuilding a new city on the wasteland in Z City, X Province.

Shu Xiaohui got up and tried to hear more news, but Li Chitian suddenly turned off the radio, and gave a cold face to the person who suddenly appeared in this pa.s.sage.

The man was stunned by his sullen sight, then he complimented and smiled, and greeted him before he hurried to the other side.

When the person went afar, Li Chitian switched on the radio again.

Then, in between the ‘zizizi' sound, Shu Xiaohui heard a piece of news that surprised him.

In the first half of the news, Shu Xiaohui did not hear it. It seemed that the white light from that day was not an accident, but something in a monument that was artificially activated.

The focus was on the second half. It had been determined that the white light had awakened ability in some of the people. Now the people had the ability to compete with the Cybernetic organisms. One day, like those Cybernetic organisms aiming to kill at the planetary organisms, the human could also develop sc.r.a.p-iron like the Tate s.p.a.cecraft.

Shu Xiaohui was holding his small claws in the nest, feeling both happy and panicked.

Was he one of the people mentioned by the radio that had awakened a power?

But so far, other than becoming a hamster, there was only a small s.p.a.ce fixed on both sides of his mouth, he had no attacking power……

Regardless of anything, he had to move first, go to the new city above the waste soil!

Shu Xiaohui drilled out of the nest and stretched his short claws to shove the small cotton wool into his own small s.p.a.ce.
