He Yi giggled. "Yeah, we've already done more than our fair share of work. Let's leave what's happening in the city to Hot and Sour Noodles. Righteousness still has a lot of their unmounted fighters."

Hot and Sour Noodles was already organizing the Righteousness players within the city and he sent players with s.h.i.+elds to surround the three teleportation points. He used these s.h.i.+eld formations to wall in the Northern Alliance players who had been teleported into the city as he used long-range attacks to kill them. They managed to weather the storm for now, but we were teetering on the edge of disaster.

Gui Guzi pointed toward the Northern Alliance army and said, "Boss Broken Halberd, we definitely won't be able to hold out much longer if this continues. The three mages who are maintaining the teleportation formation are about a thousand yards away from us. How about we charge through the enemy lines and a.s.sa.s.sinate them?"

Xu Yang nodded his head in agreement. "That's right. We'll charge in, kill those three mages and break apart their magic formation. That way, we'll be able to defend the city walls without climbing back up."

I shook my head. "That's a bad idea."

"Why?" Heaven's Rain asked in a puzzled voice as she turned to look at me.

I pointed toward the same spot that Gui Guzi was pointing at and said, "Look, there is a full complement of sixth-promotion riders two hundred yards in front of those mages and a huge number of archers and mages just fifty yards behind those cavalrymen. There are also riders with s.h.i.+elds stationed next to the mages. Furthermore, you can see constant rustling from the shrubbery around those mages, so it's obvious that there is a huge number of a.s.sa.s.sins hidden there as well. Vienna's Sorrow is clearly trying to bait us into attacking those mages. The moment we take that bait, he'll bury the entire Dragonlight Cavalry."

Chaos Moon chimed in, "That's true! Lu Chen always gets fl.u.s.tered when Beauty Lin is around! If that had been the case, we'd all already be dead, haha!"

I scowled. "Stop playing around! Catch a breath and prepare to continue fighting. f.u.c.king h.e.l.l, those three mages… Yeah, we may not be able to go ourselves, but we can certainly send someone in our stead."

After that I looked back toward the city and shouted, "Little Naughty, it's your time to s.h.i.+ne! Get rid of those mages with a squad of a.s.sa.s.sins!"

Cute Little Naughty had been itching to get some action, so she practically flew down the cloud ladder. After that, she entered stealth and disappeared into plain sight along with the squad of a.s.sa.s.sins under her command.

However, I was still quite worried about them, so I got my Phantom Wolf King to enter stealth and tag along as well. I was doing triple-tasking again. My clone and I would charge together with the rest of the Dragonlight Cavalry, while the Phantom Wolf King, which only had 55% of its health left, made a beeline for the three mages who were maintaining the teleportation formation. Getting rid of these players was critical to protecting Dawn City's northern wall!

After ten minutes, I heard a beep. Cute Little Naughty had sent me a message: "Big bro Lu Chen, we're about to make our move!"

The Phantom Wolf King suddenly leaped out of the darkness, its sharp claws flas.h.i.+ng. After three consecutive swipes, it tore open the chest of one of the surviving mages. That was the second one down!

Unfortunately for us, there were too many archers around. In the next instant, a fusillade of Spiraling Arrow Blades and Galaxy Storms fell on our a.s.sa.s.sins. Cute Little Naughty managed to scramble out of range in time, but the most of the a.s.sa.s.sins that had gone with her were one-shot by that attack. Even the Phantom Wolf King had been stunned by one of those arrows, and a group of riders immediately charged toward it. Vienna's Sorrow was among them and his vicious slashes sent the howling Phantom Wolf King to its grave!

Just as we had expected, it was a trap. However, we still managed to kill two of those mages.

"Hurry up and blanket the area with AoE spells! Find that a.s.sa.s.sin and kill her!" Vienna's Sorrow bellowed with rage as he sat astride his mount. The players around him swiftly blanketed the area with fire but none of their spells. .h.i.t Cute Little Naughty.

Realization dawned on Vienna's Sorrow's face as he turned around and snarled, "Heh, I got it!"

He swept his longsword through the empty air until it collided with something! Cute Little Naughty suddenly appeared beside Vienna's Sorrow. His guess had been right. Cute Little Naughty had been sticking to Vienna's Sorrow all this while. That was the only way she could avoid being exposed by those AoE spells.

Thud, thud...

Her boots slammed into the ground as she was pushed back by the force of that blow. However, she attacked instead of retreating, her dagger flas.h.i.+ng with cold light as it streaked toward Vienna's Sorrow's left armpit.

A damage number popped above his head, but Vienna's Sorrow continued his relentless a.s.sault. His sword swept forward like a gale as it slashed through Cute Little Naughty's leather chest armor. An eye-popping damage number appeared over the pretty a.s.sa.s.sin's head—58944!

It was a critical hit! She had been one-shot!

Cute Little Naughty slowly collapsed to the ground with an unreconciled look on her face.

However, the thing that made me burn with regret was that the teleportation formation still hadn't been cancelled even after two of three mages had died. f.u.c.king h.e.l.l, we'd been had this time! This might very well have been a trap from the get-go!

The water will gush into the tunnel and flush those rats out!"

My heart grew even heavier as I hefted my sword in my hand. We were truly facing an extremely terrifying opponent this time. They were attacking us from every direction. They had even dropped troops on us and dug tunnels below us. It was a three-p.r.o.nged multidimensional attack strategy! If we hadn't been defending these walls together with Blazing Hot Lips and Righteousness, the northern walls would have collapsed a long time ago.

Lights continued to flash over our city walls as countless Northern Alliance players were teleported onto our walls. They clashed with the Chinese players in a grand melee and the distracted players on the walls couldn't provide the support that they used to. We lost a lot of supporting fire and healing, so our defensive line began to slowly creep backward.

We heard the grinding of gears as nearly a hundred black figures emerged from the mist. Those were the siege chariots we had fought earlier! There were also countless battering rams rolling alongside them. These battering rams had huge spikes made of obsidian which would do deadly damage to any walls they struck!

Chaos Moon gripped the handle of her sword tightly as her shoulders trembled. "Vienna's Sorrow has finally run out of patience. Their main push is coming."

"Yeah."

I hefted the Cyan Netherworld Sword as I looked at everyone and grinned. "Prepare for battle! Whoever kills Vienna's Sorrow will be conferred a t.i.tle and awarded with gold…"

Everyone erupted into laughter when they heard those words. High Fighting Spirit raised his warhammer high in the air as he roared, "Alright! I finally have the chance to become a n.o.ble!"

Hoofbeats shook the air as the Northern Alliance players surged toward us like a tidal wave. Archers got into position as the cavalrymen charged forward, their blades glinting in the falling snow.

Hot and Sour Noodles brandished his sword as he roared, "f.u.c.king h.e.l.l, it's time to put it all on the table! I want all the riders in the city to go out and support the Dragonlight Cavalry! The Northern Alliance wants a pitched fight, so it's a pitched fight they'll get! This is a new era! Who dares to seize the win!?"

I couldn't help but laugh when I heard those words. "Well said, uncle! So what if they're strong! Victory will go to the brave!"

The city gates swung up as countless Chinese riders flew out of it. They were accompanied by an even greater amount of foot soldiers! We were putting all our cards on the table for this conquest!

Players poured out of the city like waves of the ocean as nearly a million Chinese players drew their weapons and prepared for battle. Their eyes were all grim and determined as they stared at the gigantic horde of Northern Alliance players bearing down on them.

A horse whinnied in the distance as an explosion shook the earth. Everyone heard a loud click as countless boulders soared through the air and crashed into our formation. The numerous catapults within Dawn City unleashed their fury as well as a veritable shower of boulders fell on the Northern Alliance army as well.

Boom, boom, boom...

The sound of boulders shattering deafened our ears as every one of those giant rocks created an empty s.p.a.ce in our ranks. However, none of our players cowered back as we saw the Northern Alliance's cavalry finally launch their attack!
