Chapter 941 - I Hope You'll Like My Gift

The a.s.sault rifle trembled violently but its shots were dampened due to the silencer. Bullets burst out of the muzzle like a merciless storm, instantly killing the men watching football. The storm had brought no rain but scalding hot steel bullets which pierced through their bodies in a blink of an eye. It brought along splatters of blood and chunks of dislodged flesh.

Within two seconds, Xia Lei had moved his muzzle horizontally by a distance of seven to eight centimetres across the six men on the couch. Their chests, brain and abdomen were filled with gus.h.i.+ng bullet wounds. The scene was atrociously cruel.

Finis.h.i.+ng off the six men in the living room, the TAR-21 a.s.sault rifle in Xia Lei’s grip was finally empty. He made no move to replenish it but hurriedly retreated back into the stairway and borrowed the walls to s.h.i.+eld himself. The moment he made it in there, the two armed men guarding the entrance barged in through the door.

Bang Bang Bang…

The AK47 a.s.sault rifle made deafening barks as bullets whistled past wildly into the stairway. The impact made the structure tremble with debris falling from above in the process. A portion of it fell onto Xia Lei, ripping his s.h.i.+rt and skin apart.

Xia Lei picked out a grenade, removed the safety pin and let it rest on his palm. There was a silent count of two before he swung his arms strongly to toss the explosive towards the door of the living room.

Ka-boom!

The two-second delay had allowed the grenade to be primed before exploding. The trembling impact shattered the gla.s.s windows and destroyed some walls. Most importantly, its explosion had taken place above the head of the two armed men. A mid-air grenade explosion’s energy release range was a full three hundred and sixty degrees. Under those circ.u.mstances, the first things that were destroyed were their skulls.

The two armed men slumped down to the floor belatedly. Their heads were nowhere in sight. One of them had even lost his backpack and an arm.

Xia Lei dashed up the stairs and entered the study. There, he aimed a Barrett M98 sniper rifle out of the window. The gla.s.s panels were ajar and had its curtains drawn. Xia Lei found the group of eight-armed men rus.h.i.+ng over but they were unaware of his presence.

Without any additional movement, Xia Lei pulled the trigger as soon as Barrett M98’s muzzle protruded out of the gap.

Bang... Bang... Bang…

The gunshots were silenced but it did nothing to alter its speed. The moment the shots were heard, three men had already succ.u.mbed to it and fell to the ground. Among them, two suffered headshots while the other got hit in the chest.

Xia Lei was the world’s most precise sniper. Even without the Thunder Horse Organization’s XL2500 sniper rifle, he still was the best sniper to ever exist. The man was unbeatable!

“He’s on the second floor!” One of them alerted, raising their AK47 and started to shoot towards the study.

The wooden walls were no match against steel bullets and even Xia Lei was no exception as a stray bullet had collided with his chest.

Bang!

Bullseye. The man who had fired at him dropped to the ground, his forehead caved in with a hole that was as big as a fist.

Abruptly, Xia Lei turned around and dashed for a distance before lunging his entire body forward.

Cras.h.!.+

The force in inertia allowed his weight to break through the study’s door, which thudded loudly alongside his body into the corridor on the second floor.

Swoos.h.!.+

A rocket missile was launched into the window and knocked itself against the wall of the study.

Ka-boom!

A ruthless explosion took place, shaking the wooden building violently. It felt like the building was about to fall into shambles anytime soon.

Xia Lei crawled forward along the corridor and entered a room on the other side. He ran two steps forward and threw his body out towards the window.

Cras.h.!.+ The impact broke the gla.s.s window and he was transferred to downstairs one second later.

Bang… Bang… Bang…

The AK47 bullets rained on the little wooden building like there was no tomorrow. There was even another missile fired toward his direction.

This time he wasn’t aiming it into the second floor, he was now firing towards a supporting pillar on the first floor.

Boom!

The deafening blast was birthed under the night sky. The ear-shattering sound waves accompanied by the threatening waves of heat travelled far and wide.

Unable to sustain any further damage, the little wooden building shook and finally collapsed loudly.

By the time this had happened, Xia Lei was already back into the sugar cane fields. He dislodged a wooden stake stabbed into his shoulder, the abrupt removal causing blood to gush and drench his shoulder.

“Did we kill him?” An armed man on the ground asked nervously.

“Probably.” His comrade answered him. “Even if the explosion hadn’t killed him, he should be buried underneath. With a fire so strong he’ll be scorched to death in no time.”

“Shall we go check?” A third man suggested.

“No, we should wait.” The fourth armed man gulped in fear. “That b.a.s.t.a.r.d is strong. He knows how to put up a fight. Everyone in the building is dead, we need to be extra careful.”

The remaining four men continued to lay low on the ground, watching the fire engulf the wooden structures. No one had dared to get closer but at the same time, they were displeased. They were aware of the importance of this particular mission. If that sniper had destroyed the drone, the four men were as good as dead.

Despite that, the sniper who they had thought was buried had already snuck up on them from behind.

Xia Lei exited the sugar cane field without so much as a whisper. Utilizing the darkness, he stopped at twenty metres away from the four men. He removed a grenade from his weapon belt and pulled the pin. This time, he had only held it for a second before throwing it towards them.

Thud!

Something that sounded like a harmless rock fell between the men.

“Huh?” One of them turned to look at its source. Upon recognition, a hopeless scream roared out of his throat. “Grenade! Ah!”

Ka-boom!

The grenade exploded.

Dirt was thrown towards the sky and rained down unceremoniously to its origin.

Two of them had died from the impact while another two were on the verge of death.

Xia Lei emerged from the dark, pistol in his grip now.

The two that were alive noticed him and started to crawl towards the warehouse desperately. One of them pleaded in Spanish, “Please don’t kill me… Please don’t kill me… My son is only one year old, he needs me…”

Poof! The silencer equipped pistol trembled slightly. A bullet had found a home in the pleading man’s brain.

The other did not plead. Instead, he reached around to pull out a pistol of his own. He wished to kill Xia Lei before the man could send him to h.e.l.l. Unfortunately for him, such wishful thinking was impossible and gullible. Before his weapon had made it out of its holster, Xia Lei’s muzzle was already aimed at him.

“No...”

Poof!

Against his enemies, Xia Lei had no compa.s.sion and empathy.

So far, twenty armed men were wiped out by him alone. The only ones left behind by the FA Organization were the two professional technicians working in the warehouse.

Xia Lei approached the warehouse. In the process of the fight, the two technicians had already locked the warehouse entrance. With a twitch of his left eye, his X-ray vision revealed to him the situation inside.

Both of them were still inside. One was steadying an AK47, guarding the door on the side. The other man was phoning someone frantically.

Xia Lei focused on his lips, utilizing the lip-reading ability to comprehend the exchange.

“Mister Yan, I have bad news! This is terrible!” The man on the phone s.h.i.+vering with fear. “Everyone is dead! That man is not human! He came alone but managed to wipe out twenty of us! Please save us, we can’t hold on for long. Protect the drone? Mister Yan, we… we’re not fighters…”

Xia Lei stealthily came to the wall on one side of the entrance, he pressed his TAR-21 a.s.sault rifle against the wooden wall. On the other side of the wall was the technician with the AK47.

In the warehouse, the technician guarding the entrance asked nervously. “What did Mister Yan say?”

His colleague looked at him helplessly. “f.u.c.k, he wants us to stay out and protect the drone. We should’ve escaped. That man is going to kill us both very soon.”

“Escape? Mister Yan will never let us go...” But before he could finish his sentence, the wall trembled slightly and out emerged a new smoking bullet hole. The AK47 wielding technician was like a short-circuited robot, he lost all control of his body and slumped onto the ground. There was a round hole in his temple, blood streaming out of it.

“Ah!” The last remaining technician picked up the AK47 and fired recklessly along the length of the wall. The bullets pierced through the wooden wall and left behind smoking holes. However, he did not hit anything.

“b.a.s.t.a.r.d! Come out!” roared the man. His emotions were out of control, he cussed and held up the weapon. His voice trembled uncontrollably. “I...I surrender! Please don’t kill me!”

Poof!

Another bullet travelled through the wall, knocking itself into his brain.

Xia Lei was not one to accept a surrender.

Poof… Poof… Poof…

Xia Lei aimed his pistol and opened a round of fire onto the entrance. The man kicked open the door as soon as the door bolt was destroyed. His entrance was welcomed by the sight of Predator B. Under its glorious wings were two precision-guided missiles, one of it the ‘Skunk Surprise’ and the ‘Key to h.e.l.l’. They stood still in silence, radiating coldness that felt murderous.

Xia Lei went over and keyed in a line of command into the technicians’ laptop.

Predator B suddenly roared into life, slowly gliding out of the warehouse and onto the abandoned road. It accelerated and soon, took off towards the dark night.

Xia Lei watched Predator B with a smirk. “Since you’re thoughtful enough to send me a gift, I shall return the favour too. I hope you’ll like it, my dear enemies.”
