Chapter 931 - A Battle of Intelligence

The fact that Jack had time off tomorrow hinted Xia Lei at something. The a.s.sembly of his murder weapon, Predator B, was set to be completed today. Following its completion, the drone would be left with its final test. The only thing left he needed to know was where the drone was to be delivered.

“The FA members will not enter Lockheed Martin’s building directly, the American government wouldn’t want to leave trails of this incident either. Without a doubt, Lockheed Martin will want nothing to do with this to avoid potential sanctions and revenge. They’ll definitely send Predator B elsewhere to complete the transaction. I need to enter the Lockheed Martin headquarters to find more information on this. At the same time, I shall help myself with studying their drones and fighter jets along with their production line. Since I’m here, I might as well enter that place or it’d be a waste of efforts.” Xia Lei made an immediate decision.

Entering Lockheed Martin as Costa wouldn’t happen.

But whose ident.i.ty should he enter with?

Out of the blue, a Dodge Ram parked itself on the side of the road. Xia Lei immediately gathered his thoughts and took a peek out of the opened door, immediately noticing Ton in its driver’s seat.

Xia Lei could feel his heart clench with mild anxiety. “What is this b.a.s.t.a.r.d doing here this early in the morning?”

He moved a step away from the doorway to stand behind the wooden wall. His left sight penetrated through the wall to peer at the peculiar situation ahead.

“Mister Ton, why are you here so early in the morning? Is there anything I can help you with?” said Jack as he instinctively turned his head back to look at the door. Xia Lei was no longer in sight. “That Mexican kid must’ve returned to bed to get touchy with my sister! What a horndog!” Jack a.s.sumed in his mind.

Ton exited his car and took a look at the door behind Jack. The man lowered his voice, “Is that Mexican man in your house?”

“Costa? Yes, he’s inside.” Jack huffed a bitter chuckle. “I told you that last night. He’s gotten involved with my sister. I won’t be surprised if they’re in the middle of a f.u.c.k session right now.”

Ton said nothing.

Jack said, “Don’t worry, Mister Ton. The Mexican kid is fine. I’ve checked my computer through and found nothing. He hasn’t laid a finger on my device. If he was a spy, he would’ve already done a number to my computer. I would have a better time believing that he’s a member of a drug ring. I don’t think he’s a spy.”

“If he wasn’t Mexican, I would’ve already taken him away for tea.” Ton shot Jack a look. “No matter what, it’s better to be careful. The job you have is incredibly important, you’re not allowed to make mistakes.”

“Got it. Please rest a.s.sured, Mister Ton,” affirmed Jack.

Ton extended an arm over to pat the top of Jack’s shoulder. “You’re a diligent person. After this whole thing is over, I’ll write a letter to Mister Williams on your behalf. I’m sure he’ll agree to let you join the CIA officially as an intelligence officer. You’ll have a double ident.i.ty and double income.”

Hidden behind the wall, Xia Lei gaped in shock. He had initially thought that Ton held an insignificant role in the CIA. But he did not know that Ton was able to communicate with Williams directly. Williams was the leader of the CIA! Based on this short exchange between Ton and Jack, Xia Lei had a change of impression on Ton’s ident.i.ty. Ton was probably at least a person-in-charge of a designated zone. His status was about the same as Liang Siyao’s when she was working for the CIA!

On the roadside, Jack broke into a bright smile. To work for the CIA and to obtain a status would boost his career advancement in Lockheed Martin rapidly. Mainly because the CIA would require him to hold a high administrative position in Lockheed Martin for the job.

“Alright, you may leave now. Call me when the trial is done,” said Ton.

Jack replied, “Alright, see you next time.”

Bidding him goodbye, Ton began to approach the entrance of Jack’s house.

Xia Lei immediately took a few steps back. Avoiding Ton’s line of sight, he carefully entered the corridor and strode towards Caitlin’s room in a flurry. He had obtained a piece of very important information from the process. Ton was the one in contact with the FA organization!

Entering Caitlin’s room, he found the woman still bundled comfortable under the covers. His entrance had not triggered any reaction from her but Caitlin had noticed his presence. She drawled intimately, “Baby, let me sleep for a little more.”

Xia Lei was silent. He quickly took off his top and bottom, peeling the covers off of her abruptly.

The sudden lack of warmth peeled Caitlin’s eyes open. She was surprised to be faced with a dishevelled Xia Lei. “Baby, you…”

“You’re just too alluring. I can’t take it anymore.” Xia Lei pounced on her eagerly.

“Wait, didn’t you say that- Mmph!” Before she could utter another word, her lips were captured in a kiss.

The pair began to writhe against the sheets, pa.s.sionately making out as if their lives had depended on it. The room door was left ajar. Peering in from the gap would only allow you to see two entangled lovers.

Ton appeared at the doorway, freezing at the unsightly scene before him. The man quickly turned around in shock. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t know you both were…”

“Ahh!” Caitlin screeched.

Xia Lei frantically pried himself away from Caitlin and rolled off the bed. He made a hasty attempt to pull up his garments for decency sake. “Mister Ton, what are you doing here?”

Ton cleared his throat. “I’m good friends with Jack. He invited me over for breakfast.”

Xia Lei huffed in his heart. “You’re just here to investigate me yourself. Here for breakfast my a.s.s.”

Caitlin pulled the covers over to hide her naked body, her panicked attempt leaving out a wide ma.s.s of pale skin to sight. She fumed, “Mister Ton, why didn’t you knock?!”

Ton shrugged helplessly. “But Caitlin, the door wasn’t shut.”

The woman rolled her eyes at Ton’s back. “Mister Ton, can you please leave so I can wear something?”

“Uh, sorry.” The older man moved away from the door.

Xia Lei bent over and pecked Caitlin. “That dude’s pretty annoying.”

The insult was worded audibly on purpose to make sure Ton caught it.

In a mushy tone, Caitlin said, “We’ll continue after he’s gone, okay?”

“Of course, baby. You’re astounding.” Xia Lei gave her another kiss.

The sound of lip-smacking travelled out of the room, accompanied by a harmonious feminine moan.

The obscene noises furrowed Ton’s brow.

It was only then that Xia Lei exited the door. “Mister Ton, thank you so much for your help last time. How about we start eating now? Caitlin wants to grab a shower and you know it’s going to be a mess to clean up.”

“Alright, alright.” Ton stopped Xia Lei before he went on. “Let’s eat.”

The two men sat at the dining table and began to enjoy breakfast. Jack’s breakfast was rather simple. It consisted of a few fried eggs, some bread and sausages. However, the mind of both men was not fixated on breakfast.

“Mister Costa, is your sister alright?” Ton attempted to pry. “I heard from the sheriff that the explosion last night had killed more than ten victims. All of their bodies were burnt crisp, it was basically impossible to identify them apart.”

Xia Lei answered, “My sister had already returned to Mexico. G.o.d has protected her from the disaster.”

“Mister Costa, are you really…” Ton reduced his volume to a whisper. “Are you really acquaintances with Ohada?”

The question made Xia Lei frown. “Mister Ton, aren’t you asking too much about me? Are you here for breakfast or to interrogate me? Are you from the Drug Enforcement Department?”

“No, no, that’s not it. Please don’t misunderstand my intentions, Mister Costa. I am genuinely curious. You mentioned a name last night and scared away an entire biker gang. I must admit it was pretty impressive.”

Xia Lei answered, “Well, Ohada is famous around Mexico. A mention of her name could make children cry. I was just using her name to scare away those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds. But as you had witnessed, I still paid them ten thousand dollars to solve the problem. There’s nothing that can be done without money. I’m sure you’re well aware.”

“I do. The breakfast is pretty hearty. Hehe,” commented Ton with a smile.

The latter half of the meal had consisted of Ton throwing indirect questions at Xia Lei to gauge his background. Xia Lei was smart enough to evade all of his queries perfectly. He had long prepared himself for this cover. His long fight against the CIA had honed him enough experience to even write a book that could be potentially t.i.tled ‘How to Handle the CIA’.

By the time both of them had finished their portions, Caitlin was still stuck in the shower. The woman was determined to be in the cleanest and best-smelling state she had ever been for her Costa. As for Ton, that man could go eat s.h.i.+t!

“I got to leave now, Mister Costa. Catch you next time!” Ton excused himself as soon as he had finished off breakfast.

“Safe trip, Mister Ton,” responded Xia Lei.

Ton left Caitlin’s house and returned to the roadside Dodge Ram. He reminisced about his breakfast encounter with Xia Lei in detail. His thought process was precise but he had found nothing suspicious about Costa.

“Jack’s deduction was correct. This man was nothing more than a rich playboy…”

As Ton shut the car door behind him and was about to ignite the engine, Xia Lei exited Caitlin’s house with a pack of plain flour.

Ton stared at Xia Lei surprisedly. “Mister Costa, what are you doing with that?”

The man came to stand at the side of the Dodge Ram and brutally threw the flour sack into the car. “Take this home and make yourself breakfast. I don’t want to see you here tomorrow morning.”

Xia Lei flashed Ton the middle finger and promptly left for the house.

“Motherf.u.c.king a.s.shole!” Ton yelled after him and drove away.

As the Dodge Ram was driven out of sight, Xia Lei allowed himself out of the house. He came to stand on the side of the road. Noticing the flour debris left by the wind, the edges of his lips curled themselves into a cold smirk.

The best way to handle an elite CIA member like Ton wouldn’t be to plant tracking devices on his body or car. The simplest method of flouring might just do the job.

If one flour sack wasn’t enough, then two flour sacks would’ve solved it all.

But for now, one sack was more than sufficient.
