Chapter 850 - A Scary Night

Once all the doc.u.ments in the box were sorted, about fifty property certificates worth billions were uncovered. Yet this was only the tip of the iceberg. There were several investment agreements in the box. Agreements for foreign investment companies to invest also billions of US dollars. There were other doc.u.ments proving he was committing treason by selling national property. Yu Shanhe was a man of many crimes.

Once these doc.u.ments see the light, Yu Shanhe would suffer if he did not die. His political career would be nonexistent. He’d be lucky if he came out of this alive.

After dealing with everything, Xia Lei wanted to call Long Bing. However, he stopped after thinking of something. He’d do it tomorrow. Right now, he had to fulfil a promise. Zhu Xuanyue had helped him deal with Yu Shanhe and Ling Han. This was the equivalent of killing off two of his most powerful enemies in this country. This girl only had one request which was to sleep with him. How could he not fulfil this? More importantly, if he did not do it, he’d have too many dogs running around.

“Uncle Xia, hurry up.” The little devil in the bed lifted the blanket and stared at him. “Hurry, I want to sleep with you!”

The blanket unravelled to reveal crystal clear skin and her white b.r.e.a.s.t.s. Her eyes seemed like they were begging for him. His mind was a mess. Just sleeping on the same bed felt like a crime.

“Come on, come on!” Zhu Xuanyue was impatient, kicking the blanket.

The blanket was kicked off in a moment, revealing her luscious legs. It was as if they were carved from jadestone, clear and flawless. Her belly was smooth with some baby fat, plus her waist gave him the urge to hug it.

His urge was strong but he could not overthink this. The more he thought about it, the more wrong it felt. He stubbornly went over to the bed, took off his shoes and hid under the blanket. He would rather have Zhu Xuanyue on him instead of the blanket.

“Uncle Xia, do you usually sleep with clothes on?” Zhu Xuanyue asked curiously.

“Yeah, I usually sleep in clothes,” he said, not daring to look into her eyes.

“You liar!”

“Why would I lie? It’s true, I sleep in clothes,” Xia Lei said solemnly.

“I saw you sleep with that Fan Fan naked.”

Xia Lei gulped.

“Take off your clothes.” She reached over to grab his clothes.

Her hand was cold like ice.

Frantically, he said, “You’re so cold. If I take my clothes off, I’ll get sick. Be a good girl. We’ll just go to sleep like this. Or I won’t sleep here.”

“Really?”

“Really.” He was already in a temperature regulation mode. He could fight in just his underwear on the snowy mountains of Daw.a.n.g. This was nothing for him. He wanted to sleep in clothes because he was afraid of what he might do.

Zhu Xuanyue snuggled into his arms, one hand over his waist and one leg on his leg.

He froze, almost feeling the warm surge over his body. Yet he bitterly suppressed it, not moving a muscle.

She whispered into his ear, “Uncle Xia, you feel so warm. I love sleeping with you.”

“Then sleep. Let’s not talk.”

“Mm.” She closed her eyes and nudged her cheek on his face, like a kitten.

He heaved a sigh of relief. She's finally going to sleep.

One second later, she opened her eyes. “Uncle Xia, I can’t sleep. Your pen is moving around.”

“Go to sleep!”

“It really is moving, I’m not lying.”

“Go to sleep! If you’re not sleeping, I’m leaving.”

“Fine, I’ll sleep.” She closed her eyes.

Xia Lei watched her in his peripheral vision nervously. He was terrified she might ask him another odd question.

Three seconds later, she opened her eyes and stared at him. She chuckled. “Why aren’t you sleeping yet?”

He wanted to bang his head against the wall.

“Uncle Xia, you’re so warm. Can you sleep with me every day?”

“Just kill me.”

“Why would I kill you? I could kill everyone else but not you,” she said.

He felt a chill down his spine. “You’re not allowed to say things like that again, nor can you think such a thing. Everyone has a life. You cannot kill the innocent. Lives are precious.”

“I don’t have a choice. When I’m hungry, I feel like killing,” she said.

His heart clenched. “Is that true?”

Realising that she misspoke, she shut her mouth and closed her eyes. “I’m going to sleep. Yawn… I’m tired.”

He couldn’t let her sleep now. “Tell me, you always say you’re hungry but you always eat so little as if you have no appet.i.te. Why is that?”

Snores filled the room.

He frowned. “I know you’re not asleep. Talk to me, answer my questions.”

More snoring ensued.

Xia Lei suddenly pinched her bottom.

“Ouch!” Her eyes sprung open and she looked at him, teary-eyed with a glint of excitement.

He froze and regretted it.

“Uncle Xia, do it again,” she burrowed in his arms. “Spank me, spank me! I beg you.”

Xia Lei changed the topic. “Uh, tell me, do you remember a person clad in black clothing, super powerful?”

“Spank me.” She grabbed his hand and moved it to her rear.

“Tell me and I’ll spank you,” Xia Lei said, suppressing the feeling that this was wrong.

“No, I don’t remember. What kind of clothing? The kind Fan Fan wears?”

“That’s a tuxedo!”

“Like Secretary Qing?”

“That’s a pantyhose!”

“Then I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ll let you know if I do. I’ve answered your question, come spank me!” She arched her back.

Xia Lei closed his eyes and one second later, there was snoring.

“You’re lying, you’re not asleep!”

This time it was his turn to snore.

“Wake up, Uncle Xia!”

Snore…

“Hmmph, you liar! I’m not talking to you!” She lay down, bottom towards Xia Lei and pouted.

He sighed. “It’s good she’s angry. Then she won't come over. Please, I hope she sleeps.”

Two seconds later, Zhu Xuanyue tossed and burrowed into his arms. One hand on his waist, another thigh on his.

He sighed helplessly.

“Mm, this is comfortable.” She nudged her cheek on his and chuckled. “Your pen is very odd. You’re sleeping, yet it’s still moving. Is it some automatic pen?”

He almost vomited blood.

This was the most difficult night he had endured in his life. Every minute was as long as an hour.

On the second morning, Xia Lei rose before the sun.

Zhu Xuanyue was still sleeping, wrapped in blankets like a tortoise. Xia Lei had crawled out of there.

She didn't notice he had left. There was a little drool on her mouth and she was smiling. Not sure what she dreamt about.

Walking out of her room, he saw the crack of dawn. The cool breeze blew across his face and he felt the fire in him calm down. He heaved a huge sigh of relief and dragged his tired body into the dining hall.

“Director Xia, what would you like for breakfast?” the private chef asked.

“Whatever will do. Uh, give me some healing porridge.”

“Alright, I’ll make you some lotus seed soup.” The chef ran off to make breakfast.

Xia Lei turned on the TV to watch the news.

The screen showed a street with many police cars. Many policemen were keeping order there. There was a crowd watching outside the red tape too, it was chaos.

“What happened?” Xia Lei was engrossed.

The screen showed a row of bodies.

A lady appeared on the screen with a microphone. “Good morning. I am now in front of a beauty centre. There was a terrorist attack last night here. The terrorists used unknown nerve gas in the centre, killing everyone inside. There have been thirty-one deaths so far. No organisation has claimed responsibility for this attack…”

His gaze fell on the corner of the screen. He was shocked.

That was the western restaurant he, Yu Shanhe and Ling Han were eating at last night!

“Nerve gas again? Could it be the people who attacked the gym? If they were terrorists, they should have claimed responsibility by now…” He suddenly thought of something and a chill went down his spine. Cold sweat sprouted out of his forehead.

The news droned on but he could not watch any longer.

He got up and walked into Zhu Xuanyue’s room.

He reached for the door handle when he arrived at the door.

A few seconds later, he let go, turned around and left.
