Chapter 170 – A Leader’s Presence

Five days went by rapidly.

At 8 o’clock on Saturday morning, to verify whether the various governments were behaving themselves, Chen Yu had teleported to the inside of the Type-K Beast Armor. As he scanned the outside through the glass window, he noticed the figures of many scientific researchers.

“Let’s see if we can find someone to make an example of…”

Chen Yu put on his protective suit’s helmet and walked out of the control room, fully armed.

After walking out of the machine, Chen Yu powered up the plasma engine and took to the skies. And after scanning the area below him, he nodded in satisfaction.

There was no additional personnel found within two kilometers of the metal T-rex. Meanwhile, stationed outside the two-kilometer radius were the troops dispatched by the world’s various governments. These soldiers prevented any unrelated personnel from entering the restricted area.

“It seems my orders have quite the power.”

Looking at the well-organized scene, Chen Yu suddenly recalled the words the Transdimensional Marketing Company’s staff member once told him: No matter the space-time or era, strength would always be the most stable form of support. As the number of transdimensional products he revealed to the public increased, so would his authority and deterrence. Eventually, the others would be the ones who need to be afraid.

As he observed 30 of the world’s most powerful governments obediently following the rules he set, Chen Yu could not help but feel a refreshing feeling.

“I can feel it now.”

After giving his waist a comfortable stretch, Chen Yu descended toward the area where China’s three underground shelters were located at.

When the researchers working above ground saw Chen Yu, they could not help but be startled. Hurriedly, they picked up their communicators and contacted their respective superiors.

Ignoring the researchers, Chen Yu descended the stairs of one of the shelters and came across a glass wall. To be precise, a glass room had been erected inside the underground shelter.

Meanwhile, inside the shelter were strange equipment of varying sizes. Aside from a few microscopes, Chen Yu couldn’t recognize any of the other equipment.

Leaning against the glass wall and looking around, Chen Yu counted a total of five researchers wearing disinfection suits inside the room.

Knock, knock, knock.

Chen Yu knocked on the glass.

Hearing the noise, the five researchers simultaneously raised their heads. And upon seeing Chen Yu, their mouths immediately fell wide open in shock.

Knock, knock!

Tapping the glass again, Chen Yu shouted, “Hey, can I go in?”

One of the researchers hurriedly ran forward and pulled open a glass door. With a trembling voice, he said, “Y-You’re…K-King…”

“Mr. King.”

“Yes, yes! Mr. King, right?”

“That’s me,” Chen Yu said as he pointed at his helmet. “Can I go in and have a look? Do I need to be disinfected?”

“N-No need! P-Please, come in.”

Under the researchers’ respectful guidance, Chen Yu entered the glass room. Looking around, he asked, “Are you guys the only ones using this shelter?”

“There are 10 of us. The other s-six went next door to assist in an experiment,” the man following behind Chen Yu explained while anxiously contacting his superiors and team leader.

Taking a seat on a chair, Chen Yu picked up a portable microscope and asked, “It’s been a few days now. How is your research coming along? Have you gotten any results yet?”

“T-The research is still ongoing.”

“I see that you’ve fully equipped the room already. Are the other shelters in a similar state?”

“Yes,” the male researcher answered as he wiped the sweat off his forehead. He felt as if he was currently being subjected to an inspection by his superior…

“Where do you guys sleep at?”

“W-We set up tents outside…”

After the two’s conversation continued for a short while, several elderly researchers ran into the shelter with quivering bodies. They then struggled with each other to shake hands with Chen Yu.

“G-Greetings, greetings!”

“Greetings, Mr. K-King.”

“Greetings, I am the person in charge of the research team…”

Extending both hands, Chen Yu shook hands with the elderly researchers one after another. He then calmly said, “Sit. Everyone, please take a seat.”

“Uh…”

However, when the researchers looked around, they found no available chairs.

“That’s unnecessary. We’re fine standing.”

Hearing this, Chen Yu also stood up and waved his hand, saying, “Everyone here is a pillar of the country. If you remain standing, how can a youngster like myself remain seated?”

“You’re too polite.

“That’s right. You’re too polite.”

Patting his chest, Chen Yu sincerely said, “I did not come here intending to interrupt your urgent research. However, I simply cannot rest assured. I worried that my fellow countrymen would suffer at the hands of the other nations. Hence, I wish to ask everyone here: has anyone mistreated you?”

“None!” an old man with a white beard replied, his eyes moistening. He then excitedly grabbed one of Chen Yu’s hands and said, “I have spent half my life engaging in scientific research abroad, yet I have never been able to hold my head as high as I can today! Nobody has mistreated us!”

“That’s good, then.” Chen Yu patted the old man’s hands. “Everyone’s family here, so I’ll get straight to the point.”

“Please go on.”

Cough, cough.

” Clearing his throat, Chen Yu spoke in a sad tone, “Truthfully, I wanted to save every underground shelter for our own use. However, the world is currently undergoing globalization. We cannot be too prejudiced in our actions. I feel despondent about this situation.”

“Say no more.” Another elderly researcher with reddened eyes said, “We understand the big picture. Your assignment is correct.”

“Thank you for understanding, everyone.” Chen Yu nodded. Sighing, he continued, “I also heard that you are living in tents… Everyone, you’ve suffered.”

“Not at all. This is what we should do.”

“That’s right. We don’t feel wronged. In fact, we feel blessed.”

“Mr. King! You are our pride!”

Hearing the welcoming cheers coming from all around him, Chen Yu made a 90-degree bow and said, “Thank you for your hard work. You are my pride!”

Several of the young female researchers standing on the periphery of the crowd felt empathetic to Chen Yu’s words, and they started clapping excitedly.

For a time, dense positive energy and patriotism filled the room.

While being surrounded by his enthusiastic compatriots, Chen Yu arrived at one of Japan’s underground shelters. Turning around, he said, “Everyone, go back. I’ll be checking the other countries to see if they’ve made any violations.”

After saying so, he walked straight into the basement.

Meanwhile, the person in charge of the Japanese research team, who had long since been waiting for Chen Yu’s arrival, quickly stepped forward and held Chen Yu’s hands. “Greetings! Greetings! It is a great honor to see you!”

“No need to be too polite,” Chen Yu said while nodding in a friendly manner. After entering the glass room, Chen Yu sighed and sincerely said, “My friend, I am here this time to talk to you about the allocation of the shelters. Do you feel that giving you just two shelters is too few?”

“No, no!” The lead researcher hurriedly shook his head. “It’s plenty! Two is not at all few!”

“Truth be told, I don’t have a choice in this.” Holding the lead researcher’s hand and lightly patting it, Chen Yu said, “With so many countries, there simply aren’t enough shelters to go around. Initially, I planned to give four to Japan, but… Oh, it’s hard for me to say it…”

“It is already a great gift for you to allocate two to us!” the lead researcher said excitedly.

“Thank you for your hard work. If there are other benefits available in the future, Japan will definitely get a share.”

Five minutes later.

Chen Yu appeared in Germany’s shelter. After shaking hands with the person in charge, he sincerely said, “I have always respected your country. Originally, I wanted to give you an additional spot, but regretfully, the conditions did not allow for it…”

Ten minutes later.

Appearing inside Korea’s shelter, Chen Yu shook hands, sighed, and sincerely said, “Korea is a land of gold, yet I have to trouble you to stay in a single shelter. I feel indignant for you. Thank you for your hard work…”

At 8:55 A.M., under the friendly, cordial, numbing, and adoring gazes of many researchers, Chen Yu flew into the sky and belched in content.

“Being a leader truly is wonderful…”

After flying back into the control room, Chen Yu teleported to a familiar location in Thailand—Si Racha.

When he stepped through the Interstellar Portal, he immediately saw Little Peach, who was holding onto a white box. Impatiently, Little Peach said, “Mr. Chen, you’re finally back. It’s almost nine o’clock! The livestream will be late!”

“We’ll make it.” Slowly raising his wrist and taking a look at the time, Chen Yu gracefully said, “You must be calm as a leader. The nobler a person is, the later they will show up.”

Little Peach: “…”
