'What the heck, he disappeared just like that?' Sheng Tian was stupefied but managed to keep his face calm.

"I don't know when I will be able to reach my goal, it might be longer than your lifespan. So, you should stop any hopes of living together. You can marry someone else, I don't mind as I'm not entirely keeping the promise. It's in your best interests if you live with the mortals instead of risking your life."

She nodded at him and was about to say "Farewell" when he cut her out saying "Why do you give these precious things to me who has no talent at all? You had a choice not to."

"Because that's my choice." she said.

Sheng Tian was tongue-tied by that answer. He didn't see this coming, at all.

Sighing at the unexpected twist, he said with a smile "Call me Sheng Tian from now. How should I call you?"

Looking at the smile which seemed to be beaming confidence, Meng Xin was at a loss for words.

This fiancee of hers was supposed to be a timid, depressed, weak guy. Even last year, he was someone who lost all hope in life. She wanted to help him but her master said that she shouldn't interfere till he turned 16 years leading to the current situation.
