Those Sweet Times

Chapter 12 Part 1

Chuyan’s ingenious way of fighting back seemed to have disturbed

the opposing team. Xiang Nuan’s team won the match in the end.

The exchange reminded Xiang Nuan of the story of Zhuge Liang

scolding w.a.n.g Lang to death.

Having a sharp tongue could be a useful skill.

The next day was Sunday. After getting out of the bed, Xiang Nuan

stared at the Li Bai costume with a weary eye.

She still needed to dress up and do the promotion.

What a ha.s.sle……

She put on the costume, then took it off, put it on again and took it

off again……

Min Lili couldn’t stand it and said, “Nuannuan, are you enjoying the

sensation of taking your clothes off? What a weirdo.”

Xiang Nuan knocked Min Lili’s head in embarra.s.sment.

Finally, she went downstairs to meet up with Shen Zemu carrying the

costume in her hand. Shen Zemu didn’t seem to be surprised that she was.

Xiang Nuan spoke in a small voice, “Xuezhang, may I be excused today?”

She handed the costume over as she spoke.

“En.” Surprisingly, Shen Zemu agreed without a hitch. Then he said,

“You keep the costume and return it back to Waiwai tonight.”

Xiang Nuan knew Shen Zemu was covering her.

She felt warm in her heart and smiled. “Thank you, xuezhang.”

Shen Zemu had been very nice to her, so she couldn’t stop herself from

asking more. She asked, “Xuezhang, are you going to sign up for the

campus compet.i.tion this time?”

“En.”

“Kings of Glory?”

“Then……” She used her index finger to point at her chin, eyes blinking,

and mustered enough courage to ask, “Do you still need people in your team?”

“We have enough people already.”

Xiang Nuan: …...QAQ

Though she knew all along that he was quite popular, she still felt

disappointed when her tiny antic.i.p.ation was put down. She lightly replied

with “oh.”

Shen Zemu saw her wither like a plant. He unusually poked further,

“You’re thinking of playing, too?”

“Yeah, I want to win Zhuang Zhou’s Kun.”[1]

Zhuang Zhou’s Kun was the prize for third place in this semester’s esports

compet.i.tion. It looked exactly like the big fish that Zhuang Zhou rides in

Kings of Glory. It was 2.1 meters long, making it more of a sofa than a toy

and normally sold on Taobao for at least 1,000RMB.

Xiang Nuan asked Shen Zemu, “Is Jiamu Xuejie also in your team?”

Shen Zemu answered with an “en” again, but this time his voice was

much quieter.

Xiang Nuan thought “well, a Silver player doesn’t deserve to have love.”

She sadly went back to her dorm room.

The first thing she did was looking for Chuyan to play some games.

The two Silver players played for almost the whole day before they finally

reached Gold.

Xiang Nuan felt like she had achieved a major accomplishment, feeling

especially proud of herself. Min Lili casually mentioned, “Nuannuan, have

you finished your Principles of Economics homework?”

“Ah! ! ! !” Xiang Nuan screeched.

“What’s wrong?” Chuyan jumped at the other end of the call.

“I haven’t finished my homework for this week. I have to go to do my

homework.”

“What’s the big deal.” Chuyan sounded like a seasoned soldier who could

care less. “Can’t you just copy it?”

What a lousy idea…...Xiang Nuan was speechless and retorted, “Do you

copy your homework often?”

“Not that as much.”

“Even in high school?”

“Only sometimes.”

Even “sometimes” was inexcusable. Xiang Nuan was curious and asked

again, “How did you pa.s.s the exam and get into this university?”

“Using my brain.”

Oh…...Bah!

Chuyan sent her another invitation to form a team. The invitation window

was like a warm little hand keep waving at her: come, come~

Xiang Nuan felt like she was being controlled by something and clicked

accept.

One match, just one match…...she thought to herself.

One match turned into one more, then another.

In the end, Xiang Nuan gave up on herself and thought: I have never copied

any homework before. I can try it once this week as a life experience…..

least part of the foundational texts for Taoism.  Kun is the name of the giant

fish in one of stories.
