Chapter 302 - Enemy Assault

Chapter 302: Enemy Assault

That crone was enveloped with some flames around her when she came. Those were flames that were conjured by the laws, something used against intruders automatically.

A layer of golden light shattered, its pieces dropping all over the ground around the crone.

The thing that was shattered was the defensive power item that she used when traversing space. The cost was heavy, even though her powers allowed her to make such a trip.

That crone walked down the altar and took a look at Luo Ying, who was kneeling below and said, “So it is you who made that request to the young master, then?”

“Indeed,” Luo Ying replied immediately.

“I watched your clan’s great ancestor grow up.” The crone took a look at Luo Ying and continued, “I didn’t expect that he would be killed by Lu Xuan. I came on orders of the young master, and I shall take Lu Xuan’s life today.”

The crone turned her gaze at the persons in charge of the other member clans of the Taichu Group. All of them averted their gaze, not daring to look in her direction.

It was especially so given that the crone had personal relations with the Luo Clan. Although all of the others had their own backers in the Taichu Path, they were reluctant to clash with her.

“Come with me and slay Lu Xuan,” the crone held her snakehead staff and said as she slowly walked.

She then halted her steps all of a sudden, walking up to Lin Miaoyi. “Not bad. The young master lacks someone to serve him by his side. The honor shall be yours when he finally advent to the world, and you will be rewarded then.”

Lin Miaoyi wore a rather baffled expression, never anticipating any of that to happen.

The crone did not wait for her to answer. The way she saw it, Lin Miaoyi would not have the gall to refuse anyway.

She then took Luo Ying with her and left the base.

In the Heavenly Palace base in the capital city.

The base was brightly lit throughout at that moment.

That place had already become the core from which the ones from the Heavenly Palace operate, especially when the world of cultivation was in chaos. The fighters of the Heavenly Palace ventured outside to arrest those deemed committing treason, and they became very renowned for those operations.

Many came begging to be spared. There were just too many involved in the incident, and no one actually knew just how many were involved.

The entire world of cultivation might actually suffer severely for what had happened.

A group of young people in their teens and early twenties were gathered at a training ground somewhere in the Heavenly Palace. All of them wore uniforms of the Heavenly Palace.

They were young elites that were gathered from all places, but despite their prowess, they paled in comparison to the likes of Duan Shan.

However, they had the edge in that all of them possessed exceptional talents. They practically consisted of seed candidates and elite geniuses from all manner of cultivation forces.

None would have been willing to send such exceptional geniuses to the Heavenly Palace initially. Still, their parent forces were all very willing to send them there just so that they could receive Lu Xuan’s guidance.

Those prideful geniuses had originally been people who would not have bowed down to anyone, but all of them changed when they received Lu Xuan’s guidance.

All the issues that had been troubling them for years were easily solved with Lu Xuan’s guidance. It had been so easy that it hardly took Lu Xuan more than a few sentences to do so with each of them.

“The Heavenly Palace have finally become famous, eh?”

“Not bad. Now I wonder who else would dare to underestimate the Heavenly Palace after all that happened.”

“I originally thought the Heavenly Palace to just be more of the same. But from the looks of things, among all such government organizations in the country, the Heavenly Palace might actually be the most powerful.”

“I heard that Duan Shan and the others were but Invincible Vajras. All of them made a breakthrough into the Celestial Realm after only being trained by the Palace Lord for a month!”

Some raved away with excitement, and the others came to wear envious expressions on their faces.

While Duan Shan had been more powerful than they were, to begin with, they all thought that they would be able to catch up in the future.

However, none anticipated him to make a breakthrough into the Celestial Realm after receiving guidance from Lu Xuan for only a month, which meant that Duan Shan completely left them all in the dust.

All of them were considered to be the same generation as Duan Shan, yet at the moment, he seemed to have completely become their elders instead.

“The Palace Lord said that anyone who could make it to Invincible Vajra level would receive his personal guidance, and becoming a Celestial Realm being wouldn’t be a problem in the future!” someone added.

All of them recalled Lu Xuan’s promise and felt energized all over, feeling that they had a great future ahead of them.

“By the way, what is the Palace Lord’s level currently? What do you all think?” someone asked after taking a look around.

“I heard that it is a realm above the Celestial Realm. I remember it being called the Airborne Realm.”

“This is just surreal. Not only was he able to make a breakthrough past the Celestial Realm, but he can do so with the limits of the world being in place. He really is like a walking god.”

All those young people were practically idolizing and even worshipping Lu Xuan at that point, looking as if they were looking up to a god.

Given that they were only at National Guardian and Deity level at the moment, Lu Xuan was indeed hardly different from a god to them.

Ling 6Fei, who was dressed for combat, stood among those people and heard all of that chatter. His brother, Ling Yu, stood by her side.

After Lu Xuan rescued her from the clutches of the Guimen Sect previously, she left her original sect and chose to join the Heavenly Palace.

There was a complete heritage that Lu Xuan prepared specifically for them in the Heavenly Palace, and she progressed at a frightening rate after receiving Lu Xuan’s guidance.

As such, she saw fit to just bring her little brother along as well.

Both she and her brother were of decent talent. Ling Yu was personally taught by Lu Xuan before, and he was found to be of frightening talents.

As such, they were quickly assigned to that group not long after joining the Heavenly Palace.

Each one of the members in that group was an elite and a genius. All of them would be achieving great things in the future.

Ling Yu’s gaze became fiery after hearing all that chatter.

He had a frail constitution from a young age, and it was due to Lu Xuan that he had been able to rise above his sickly status. In his perspective, Lu Xuan was nothing short of his savior god.

At that moment, a terrifying pressure spread all over the place suddenly. Everyone was on high alert in the dark of night immediately.

“Who goes there?” Everyone reacted to it right away, sensing that overwhelming pressure looming all over them from somewhere else.

“Some pressure, indeed.”

The geniuses looked at each other, and all of a sudden, they saw a crone hovering in midair holding a snakehead staff. Countless floodlights illuminated her. There was also a young woman right behind the crone.

“Who are you? Why are you intruding upon the Heavenly Palace? Don’t you know that trespassing into a military base is a grave offense?” someone was heard shouting from the base.

“It’s Military Governor Duan!” someone exclaimed excitedly.

The one who shouted was none other than Duan Shan, one of the 12 military governors.

Everyone felt at ease with him taking charge of the Heavenly Palace base at the moment.

The crone slowly asked, “So, you’re Lu Xuan?”

Duan Shan shook his head and answered, “I’m not the Palace Lord. I’m Duan Shan, one of the 12 military governors serving the Heavenly Palace. May I ask why you are here, senior?”

Duan Shan, dressed in military regalia, looked at the crone before him. He felt a tremendous gust of pressure, which was of an intensity he had never sensed before.

It felt just like how it had been when he was standing in front of Lu Xuan.
