111 What Do You Say?

"I am Hale." He response and grinned charmingly.

Sadly, I recognized the name immediately. If there was one of two people that the council was afraid of it was him. The other was none other than my aunt Selene, don't ask me why the story was a long time ago and no one wants to talk about it but I'm guessing that it involved her beloved mate that I don't know what had happened to him.

I didn't know about Hale the reaper. A hired killer for souls. The legend was his mate died and he was granted power beyond the normal and would kill to revenge any mate at the price of a soul.

"Delighted, I didn't know Knight had any other friends. He'd always been so private." I said faking innocent.

"You've just got together, right? How did you meet? Did he hit on you? Did he ask you out? Did he give you his phone number? Did you sleep with him on the first date?" Hale asking laughing sensually.

"I am the Malik," the more elegant of the two men said stepping in, "Do not answer any of his questions. He is a danger to you, my dear."

"Really, I thought it was you that I should be afraid."

The name may not ring any bells but it didn't mean he was an ant. This was a different danger, a man so primal male that stands out in a crowd. He had eyes that struck fear in my heart. I slowly turn my head down away from those eyes. It was dark broken and full of pain. A place that I hope I'll never have to visit and from the looks of it. Knight was there with him for a while, the posture and his stillness was any indication. I'm glad he was not in that place anymore.

"Hale, Tell me a little about Knight I don't know him too well, we did just meet," I said glancing through my lashes.

Hoping to charm him a bit.

"That is something defiantly need to talk over good wine." Answered the Malik, "You should visit my home, it'd be wonderful, and Lillian loves parties. What do you say, darling?"

"Can I Knight?" I asked batting my eyelashes.

It was a cowardly move but I never claim to be brave. The list I mentioned earlier didn't even bother to put his name on the list, he was the most important having been there for the beginning of time. He was the worst of the high council and had the one and only Veto vote.
