After killing the white water snake Zero felt depleted of all the Spirit QI, tired and in unbearable pain. His body felt like a sponge that had been left for a long time under extreme heat. Many cultivators have died of spirit QI depletion before and it was now happening to Zero and he was going to die if he did not get into the Spirit pound quickly. The Spirit pound was only seventeen steps away from him normal this would be nothing for him but now that way a near impossible fit.

Zero took the first step and it reminded him of when he was five years old and was at the Children's hospital, he was playing with the other children he fell and cut himself and started to bleed. That was the first time that Zero truly got to experience the horror of his bloods two of the kids got infected by his blood and died within a few minutes. After that incident he was forced to spend an entire year alone. After leaving as year alone Zero changed his name from Jonathan Stark named after the Start Children's Hospital to Patient Zero.

On the second step the memory of his first kidnapping, when Zero was six years old a group of masked gunman came to the hospitals and kidnapped him killing a lot of people in the process. It was thanks to that he then was a policeman in the hospital that had a sick child that he was rescued 2 days later.

The third was the memory of Zero first ever death talk, the younger brother of a girl who was diagnose with terminal cancer just received the news that his sister was going to die soon. The seven year old boy did not take the new well he was too young to understand why the doctors could not save him sister. Zero saw the boy crying alone in the corner of the hospital cafeteria, what followed was a breaking talk that forced the seven year old Zero to grow up and view life in a different light. Zero was forced to except his death that night. The entire doctor in the hospital had different ideas when it came to his blood but the one thing that they all agreed on that he would not live long.

The memories kept coming with every step from the sad memories of seeing every friend he had leave him one way or the other , some were cured and left the hospital and some were beyond help and died at the hospital. Zero witnessed it all from the broken and grieving parents to the sad parent that could not accept the death of their child.

All the memories were filled too much pain that tears were falling nonstop from Zero now.

The last step was the worst of all of them because it was the one thing that Zero could never escape in and that was loneliness.

After the seventeen steps Zero fell into the Spirit pound lost pa.s.sed out
