Having no idea that they had just served a healthy dose of dog food to Alicia and sparked something that Ryu would always be thankful for,the couple separated with a feeling of reticence.Mi Rae was in a daze after having been unexpectedly attacked, while Neil was undeniably please with himself and guided Mi Rae to the couch.It was only after they were seated that Alicia had been there in the office when they had begun and now was undeniably missing.Embara.s.sed at their conduct,Mi Rae glared at the man,and wondered how could someone be so shameless?

However Neil had already moved on to the next tangent and started discussion about the case and what she wated to about compensation.Mi Rae did not hear a word he said making Neil rather proud of himself!Before Neil could gloat and tease her,there was a hesitant and timid knock on the door.The phone on his desk rang at the same time and moving to answer it,he was told that the other party had arrived and were seated in the conference room.Placing the phone down,he said to Mi Rae,"Come Attorney Zheng,it is time to handle some business matters.We can discuss this on the way to the conference room."

Neil opened the door for her and right outside,a girl was standing there clutching a file in her hand.Her eyes widened when the door suddenly opened.Mi Rae and Neil looked at the person intently.Neil's icy voice questioned her,"What is it?"

The girl timidly replied,"Sir,I had a few questions regarding the file and was hoping to clarify them with you."

Mi Rae's eyebrows touched her hairline as she saw the timid att.i.tude.Wasn't this the same girl who had come to her office and then spouted nonsense about getting a better job?Ahh so this was the job.Noting Neil's change in demeanor,Mi Rae was doubly pleased.The fact that the woman was scared of him as well as that she had to suffer here when she had so rudely rejected her interview was like a balm to her soul.Plus she really had itched to show that woman her place.There was another thing that gave her an unexpected calmness.She had seen Neil being his charming self with Onita and Alicia.She had wondered if he was the same with all women but seeing that he was like that with only those he considered friends and so she did not feel threatened by any other women in his life.For her the relations.h.i.+p was new and she was taking baby steps so she always worried about what ifs.

"Miss Ning,do I look like I have the time to teach you your job?You can wait till your senior arrives in the morning and then discuss it with her.Now if you'll excuse us!"With that,Neil laid a polite hand on Attorney Zheng's elbow and guided her to the conference room leaving behind a thoroughly saddened and dejected Ning Xue.

Inside the conference room,sat Director Wen and Attorney Xu once again.But this time not with as much arrogance as in the past.After polite gestures from both parties,they sat on the opposite ends of the conference table.Director Wen did not know where to start and thus there was an awkward silence from both parties.Mi Rae stared at them with acute hostility this time!She was tired of their antics and threats!She had already made her demands clear with Neil and he had promised to get them to comply as many as possible.

In a suave voice,Neil said,"I hear that you all had the recent pleasure to see my youngest brother.I hope he did not trouble you much!"

Both Attorney Xu and Director Wen gulped and inwardly shuddered at the reminder of the scary man who had wanted to negotiate with them and how they had all ended up at the police station. It had been a nightmare keeping the news from the media. They looked carefully at the charming veneer of the man in front of them and wondered what did these men eat that they were so intimidating without doing anything. On that note, Neil continued, "My client does not wish to settle out of court anymore with the mockery you have made of this matter. Maligning her reputation and trying to defame her, unfounded accusations, humiliation and then finally death threats. Even now with the sound called public apology, all we can see are your attempts to slither out of a difficult situation instead of sincere regret. Even now you are trying to stay in the right by offering a compensation and making my client into a money grubbing opportunist. If you honestly wished for an out of court settlement you should have approached us directly instead of making a public announcement.Since you have not tried to contact us in any proper way, my public relations team is soon going to release a statement that we have not yet received any formal request or apology and thus we will be proceeding with the case. Once this statement is made, we will then release the audio from the previous meetings where Attorney Zheng was humiliated and threatened."

Attorney Xu and Director Went were at a loss. They had come to negotiate but Neil Long had directly gone for the jugular and now instead of negotiating the compromise they would first have to convince them to negotiate. 

They wondered what step needed to be taken when suddenly the door to the conference room was opened by a few bodyguards. An older woman dressed in an elegant cheongsam walked in on the arm of a younger female. Though the woman looked frail, her eyes reflected the steel in them. She glared at the two men who had stood up at her entrance and then turned to Mi Rae with a kind smile and said, "Mi Rae, my child! "
