A few days after the 'aunt' incident,Neil and Mi Rae had settled into a routine where they spent their days with their respective jobs,Neil at the office and Mi Rae was setting up her own practice and had found a new office which was 'coincidentally' available near Neil's office and their evenings were spent talking about different things or watching movies.They had even went to their cooking cla.s.s once more and been tortured with making a cake which turned out to be inedible because they forgot to add sugar and then burnt it by over bakig it...The moment they had exited,Neil had vowed never to eat cake again causing Mi Rae to break into peals of laughter.The vow had been broken within an hour when he had sent a rant to Alicia who then sent a cake for Mi Rae instead of Neil..Neil had pouted like a little boy and almost s.n.a.t.c.hed the cake from Mi Rae.Tacitly,without any discussion,they had taken to sleeping together.Though they had not done anything physical since the last time,wvwet evening Neil would go back to his room,freshen up and then join her in the bedroom.

.Mi Rae's wounds had now recovered and she felt bitter sweet about going back to her own home.She liked staying here with Neil but she did not wish to over stay her welcome.Sitting at the table,she wanted to discuss this with Neil but did not know how to.He was currently engrossed in doing his work on his laptop and was set to drop her off at the office.THough he had not once asked her to leave or made her feel unwelcome but he had not asked her to move in as well.Another thing that p.r.i.c.ked at her was that even after so many days,she had not even seen his bedroom and she felt that it was odd.However she could do nothing to take care of her misgivings.

Before Mi Rae could open her mouth to bring up the discussion,Neil's phone piged with the tone of an incoming e mail.When Mi Rae saw the array of expressions on Neil's face from a smile to a frown and then a narrowing of eyes,she got curious about the contents of the mail and asked him on point,"I wonder what is the email is about?The flow of expression it left on your face was interesting."

Neil looked up from his laptop at her question but paused thoughtfully for a moment before answering,"It was from a sibling of a good friend asking for a job at Lance Inc."

Though Mi Rae had asked the question casually,Neil's answer made alarn bells ring in her head.She did not know why so she chose to bury her trepidation and to lighten her own mood said,"So Neil Long!You encourage Nepotism in business?"

"Of course not!I just forwarded the email to the HR and they know that is is in no way a recommendation.As long as the person is qualified she will get the job.The only time I used my power was when Alicia came here!"

Neil saw that Mi Rae had finished her breakfast so he packed up his laptop and the two of them left for the office.

Neil parked the car on the side of the road and dropped Mi Rae at her office and said,"so what time do I come pick you in the evening?"

Mi Rae paused in the process of getting off and then said,"Neil,I'll stay over at my apartment tonight.."

Neil stilled.The words 'my apartment' echoed in his head.But he chose to ignore it and said,"Alright then I'll pick you up at 6."And then without waiting for a chance for Mi Rae to object,Neil drove off towards his own office.

Mi Rae shook her head at his stubbornness and went up to her office.She had interviews later today to select personnel for her office.Her office was actually a small s.p.a.ce with a single room and little pantry and the reception area which could hold upto five people once it was renovated.Mi Rae made her way upstairs and prepared to make a pitch to clients she had left midway.After a few hours of unsiccessful calls where she tried to get her clients to leave the big company and get their cases to her were rejected,she was in a bad mood.Just then she received a message from her brother to meet her at the restaurant near her office and she was happy that she had a legit reason to escape.She was finding her present office almost suffocating..

She had missed seeing Hou gege as he had gone back unexectedly but now he was back and already waiting for her so she was going to run.After seeing the time,she realized that she had read the message quite late and in fact it had been sent earlier and it was already time to meet.Hurriedly packing her belongings,she locked the office and almost ran towards the restaurant.In her excitement and worry,she failed to notice the couple in another booth as she ran towards her brother..
