Mi Rae had never thought herself weak of the heart before.But she had never realized that she could fall so deep and so hard for someone so soon.She always a.s.sumed that she would fall in love slowly and rationally.she seemed to have forgotten that no one ever 'fell' rationlly!Nothing of her emotions showed on her face though.Looking at him,she then thought of exactly what he had told her..His fiance was dead..She looked at him through new eyes.The man who was unvincible...she could see the pain reflected there and somehow she understood his pain.She stared into his eyes and gently said,"Would you like to go visit her?"

Neil was shocked at Mi Rae's answer.He most certainly was not expecting such an answer..Immediately vetoeing her offer,he answered,"Mi Rae,there is no need to visit her now.Anyways we are mostly being followed so we have to maintain a facade.I just did not want you to feel bad so I told you the truth.Now let us go."

Neil turned back the car onto the road and drove on.He was driving out of the city towards his country home.Though the Atmosphere in the car had turned peaceful,Mi Rae was lost in her thoughts.She knew one thing for sure,"Neil had told her the truth not bacause he did not want her hurt but he wanted to create a boundary,so that she would not fall for him.Maybe he had realized her feelings for him even before she had..after all he was a perceptive man..

But now her curiosity was burning.Neil Long had always been a high profile man.He was no less than a celebrity.Whether it was because of his cases or his inheritance,he was always under the media scanner.So how come there was never a mention of a fiance?And that too a dead one.Even in the closed lawyer circles,the only person he had been linked to was...now his sister in law.

Leaning back she sorted out her feelings.What did she feel for Neil?And how to handle it.But she needed more information before anything else.And there was one person who could give it.Alicia.Mi Rae needed to get in touch with Alicia at the soonest.

As the car drove on,Neil and Mi Rae were both silent.Each lost in their thoughts.The noise and the bustle of the city had been left behind and the tranquil of the small vllage could be felt.Neil had already dodged the press cars and was not driving peacefully.Neil had driven them to his country house.He did not visit here very often and was glad that today chose to come today.Looking at Mi Rae,he started a conversation,"Mi Rae,do you know how to ride horses?"

Startled at the sudden topic of conversation,Mi Rae took a few moments to compose herself and then answered,"Yes,though not very well.Just enough that I wouldn't fall."

Neil nodded and then explained,"We are going to my countryhouse.We can spend the day there peacefully without worrying about the media..I have messaged the housekeeper to prepare a light picnic that we can enjoy once we ride into the fields."Then looking her over,he asked,"Woll you be comfortable in the dress?Should we buy some other clothes for you?"

Mi Rae stared at Neil and then shook her head in negative,"I don't need it.I can ride side saddle."

Neil tunred to look at her in disbelief."Ms Mi Rae!Who knows how to ride side saddle in this day and age!You shock me!"

Mi Rae just smiled and did not answer back and soon the conversation stagnated.Inside Mi Rae was screaming.What was wrong with Neil.On one hand,he was mourning his fiance and the other he was doing his best to make her fall for him.Or was he?Maybe he was just being nice..But even that thought did not bring comfort to her.Just how many other girls had he been nice to?Realizing her thoughts were going into the jealousy category,Mi Rae controlled her thoughts with effort and decided"Whatever happens today,I am not going to over think this.Let fate handle everything.After all it was fate that had brought them together so many times.She would not torture herself.

Finally,they had reached their destination when Mi Rae looked out of the window.It was magnificent.The farm house was a thing odf the beauty.The rolling green fields and the sparkling suns.h.i.+ne around a beautifully built house made her speechless.Whoever had designed this had made the house one with nature.So many times,the building and statures looked ghastly agins th setting but this house enhanced the beauty of the place instead of marring it.Perfect harmony.Mi Rae thought to herself,'If she had a home like that she would never leave...

Alighting the car,they were greeted by a bevy of servants,ready to greet their master.An old butler by the name of Tang Ji stood at the forefront and bowed deeply to welcome them.Knowing that Neil did not care much for pomp,the servants immediately bowed and then scattered back to their duties.

Looking over the young woman next to his master,Tang Ji was also pleased.His master had been alone too long.A young pretty miss would do him good.But being the good butler he was,he kept his thoughts to himself.In a monotone he answered,"Master,the picnic is ready.Your riding clothes have also been prepared.Ms Zheng would you like to eat something before you go riding?"

Mi Rae looked at the Butler in a bit of shock and blurted out,":How do you know my name?"
