Neil drove the car towards his home in realtive peace.Attorney Zheng was sitting soaking in the warmth from the coat as well as the car's heater.It was after a few minutes that she realized they were going in the opposite direction from her house.

attorney Long,"this is the wrong direction"

Neil turned to look at her and asked ,"Where were you going?"

"I was going home."Zheng told him th e address.But instead of turning back,Neil said,"Then let us go to my home.There is most likely going to be a blizzard and it is not safe to drive on further."

Zheng looked at the rain outside.It was pouring heavily enough that the visibly was affected.It would be enough if they reached his home.She a.s.sumed they must be closer since he had been driving home.When she did not say anything,Neil looked at her and said,"What?Are you not going to protest?Or ask to be dropped at a hotel?"

Zheng looked amusedly at her 'rescuer' and asked sarcastically,"Do I look like a fool to you?I have something called common sense.I know for a fact that there are no hotels in this area.Why would I make things more difficult for myself?"

Neil looked at her thoughtfully and then asked in a serious voice,"Are you not worried that I could have bad intentions towards you?"

Zheng almost rolled her eyes at that and said,"Sadly, Mr Long,your reputation proceeds you.You have so much integrity that no one would ever believe you of harboring ill intentions."

By now Neil turned into a driveway and slowed down the car.He then turned to Zheng and leaning closer,tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as he teased,"But that is professional reputation.What about my personal one?"

"Shut up, Mr Long and stop trying to get a rise out of me.You might be a knight in s.h.i.+ning aromour but I am no damsel in distress."

Neil had stopped the car now and alighting from it,he ran to her side and held open the door for her.Together they then ran towards the foyer.

Opening the door,Neil went inside followed by a curious Attorney Zheng.

She was looking around with interest.Neil Long was known to have an eccentric personality outside of work.She had expected to see that reflected in the house.But this was totally unexpected.The house was cold and the furnis.h.i.+ngs all sleek and black.It screamed professional..Totally not expected.

Leaving her standing there gawking,Neil went inside and took out two towels from a small closet.Using one he rubbed his hair and brought the other for her.

"You have a beautiful house Mr Long."

Neil sighed and said,"Zheng,tell me your first name and call me by mine.Mr Long is too tedious and so is Attorney Zheng.Also your thoughts regarding my house are reflected in your eyes.So let the politeness be."

Zheng rubbed her hair with the towel Neil had provided and said,"I guess you do not know how to accept a compiment.Mi Rae."

Neil stilled.Did he hear wrong or did she address him with that name?

Feigning ignorance he frowned at her and said,"Mi..what,Sorry?"

"My name,Neil.My name is Mi Rae."

"Ahh..Nice to meet you Ms Zheng Mi Rae."

Neil bowed as if giving a traditional greeting.What a coincidence!Neil thought to himself.Our names are different by only one character....I'd almost thought she was addressing me...

Guiding her to the living room,he went into the kitchen to brew some tea.Then upstairs,he removed a new black long ts.h.i.+rt and a pair of pyjamas shorts from his closet and went back down.

Neil came down to see Attorney Zheng s.h.i.+vering and rubbing her arms to ward off the chill.Handing her the items he said,"Change into these clothes and leave your wet clothes in the hamper.I'll put them in the drier later.I'll bring out the tea." Thanking him,Mi Rae said,"You need to change as well or you'll catch a cold."

"I don't catch a cold so easily.",said Neil followed by a loud series of sneezes!

Laughing,Mi rae went into the bathroom while Neil went back into the kitchen.He really needed to change out of the wet clothes too but he would do that after pouring the tea so that it would have time to seap.

He unb.u.t.toned his s.h.i.+rt while going inside..not expecting Mi Rae to already be sitting there when he returned.

Giving her a once over,Neil raised his eyebrows,"Ms Mi Rae,are you trying to seduce me?Where are the shorts I gave you?"

Mi Rae leaned back a bit and then giving him the same gaze said,"the shorts are too big for me.But I think you are the one trying to seduce me.After all you are the one standing there with his s.h.i.+rt unb.u.t.toned and waiting to serve tea like a slave and I must say I realllly appreciate the view.You must work out a lot."

For the first time in her life,Mi Rae had the opportunity to see Neil embarra.s.sed and red in the face as he placed the tea tray on the table and s.h.i.+ed away like a new bride..Haa..Revenge was sweet..and of course...those abs were good too...
