The *kiss* lasted no more than a few seconds as Onita jumped back furiously and blus.h.i.+ng red,mumbled something about being back soon,ran out of the door.Neil,who was still lying in a daze on the sofa had no clue just what had happened.Still lying over there,he was shaken out of his reverie,by the ringing of his phone.Answering with a small h.e.l.lo,he put the kiss into a separate part of his mind and locked it for ponderig later.Switching to the professional mode,he looked into the mirror and b.u.t.toned his s.h.i.+rt.He could feel the warmth of her hands on him but paying the feeling no attention,he walked out of the office.

As he reached the lobby and walked out,his gaze took in the people walking in and out but he could not see Onita.the driver who had seen his look immediately came forward and said,"Miss Onita took a taxi as soon as she ran out of here..I did not get a chance to approach her..Neil just shook his head as he muttered,"Stupid girl" and got into the car taking the keys from the driver.Putting the car in gear,he drove towards her home at top speed.

And it was a good thing he had followed her there,because the girl was currently arguing with a middle aged man while the people gathered there to watch.But instead of going ahead to help her,he leaned onto the hood of the car and prepared to watch.This was a new side of the fragile and emotional woman he had come to know since yesterday.Currently,she was poking a finger at the chest of the middle aged man as if trying to put a hole through it and saying,"If you dare to touch my things,I will have you thrown behind bars!My contract clearly states that I have until the day after tomorrow to renew or move out!If you have chosen to rent it out without notice and before the my period is up then it is your problem and you have to return the security deposit to me!"

Neil could see the man trying to argue back but Onita was not giving him a chance to explain.However,in the next second the man gestured behind him and two bulky men came to stand beside him trying to intimidate Onita.Neil shook his head and prepared to rescue the damsel but before he could reach her,his feet stopped in amazement.Onita had kicked the two men in a reverse round about kick and was currently holding the landlord in a chokehold..

Feeling oddly proud of her,though he had no idea why,Neil blew a wolf whistle to show his appreciation.Shocked at the sound,Onita turned around and her mouth fell open when she saw Neil standing there.Her eyes met his and she could see the amus.e.m.e.nt in his eyes.Blus.h.i.+ng furiously,she dropped the landlord like a hot potato and turned to him to give a stuttering explanation..

The landlord immediately stood up,rubbing his neck furiously and threatened to call the police.Onita turned to him,ready to kick him but Neil stopped her with a hand on her arm.Turning to the landlord,Neil said with extra politeness and said,"My Name is Neil Long.I am Ms Dew's attorney.And you must be Mr. Landlord.Do not worry,please do complain but I would like to advice you against it.Since you are Ms Dew's landlord,I will give this free advice.If you file a complaint,then I will stand as witness about how you and your men tried to attack Ms Dew and then the little stunt you just pulled,trying to get her to vacate without returning her money,I promise I will make you pay that money back with interest and emotional damaged that you caused my client.So would you like me to make a call to the police on your behalf?"

The landlord had visibly paled by the time Neil finished saying his *pleasantaries*.Bringing about a 180 degree turn in att.i.tude,he apologized to Onita and promised to return the money at the earliest.

Onita was now in a state of stupor as she climbed the stairs taking Neil to her home.On the way,Onita felt extremely nervous about earlier and started blabbering,"Umm,Thank you for what you did downstairs.I knew that the rent time was coming up but did not expect that the landlord would play such a game.Guess,he did not expect me to react so violently.But really,I was so angry.I mean,if that Hu Ge is not Alicia's father,since he ha obviously not met her then why have I been worried out of my mind these last few days?And then he had the gall to hara.s.s me and force me to quit my job..I think I should go and teach him a lesson and...and.."Still talking,Onita entered the home,while Onita went straight inside.Neil chose not to follow her and waited in the living room.

After a few minutes,she came out carrying an old box.She stopped suddenly when she entered the living room and stared at Neil as if she had forgotten that he was still here.Her pace slowed and she came near him.Then in a sudden and obvious change of mind,she went to sit on the chair opposite of wear Neil was sitting.Neil could not help but smile at her behaviour and taking thr box from her,he set it on the table.Then in a voice filled with amus.e.m.e.nt,he said,"Ms Dew,we first need to sort out the white elephant in the room."
