While Alicia was busy at the market,the Rolls Royce parked outside the house and the brightly lit windows attracted the attention of neighbors.One neighbor in particular was staring at the house with sour look on her face.This person was none other than Alicia's ex mother in law.She had coveted the house since she was a kid and finally acquired it.only for it to slip through her fingers again...She had even tried to buy back the house after the auction when her son had provided the money but now she knew why that had not worked.The owner seemed rich.Hmm...How rich could he be if he had to buy a house on auction...Everyone knew that the government auctioned properties were sold cheaply...

Just then her niece, Qin Qing entered the room in a flurry.She was wearing make up and dressed very stylishly.Old Xu frowned at her niece and said,"Qing Qing,why are you so dressed up?Are you going somewhere?"

Qin Qing did not answer and hurried over to her aunt's wardrobe and took out her aunt's most expensive and formal dress.Bringing it out she told her aunt,"Aunty,there is a rich man in the neighboring house and he seems very handsome!We must go and greet him before the other neighbors!We can invite him cousin's party tomorrow and befriend him.I have already ordered rice cakes to take them there.Get ready fast!"

Old Xu frowned and said,"How do you know he is rich?"

Qin Qing looked at her aunt as if the woman was a nut job and then pointed towards the window."Look there,you see that car?There are only 10 such cars in the whole world as they are custom made for their owners.Each car has a unique feature absent from the other cars.Not even the super rich can afford such a car easily!"

Old Xu knew nothing about cars.But she trusted her niece's judgement.And there was no harm in trying to lure a big fish.Erasing the sourness on her face,Aunty Xu changed into her new clothes and putting on a welcoming expression went to greet their new neighbor.

Ding Dong Ding

Ryu Long was in the middle of a phone call with a.s.sistant Yang when the bell to the door rang.a.s.suming that Alicia must have not taken her keys,he went to open the door.On opening the door he was almost rendered unconscious by the strong scent of cheap perfume that invaded his senses.The women in front of him were apparently doused in it.Holding his breath,he coldly glared at these people who had interrupted him.

Qin Qing and Old Xu,were however thick skinned. They never realized that their presence was unwanted. Ryu was about to close the door in their faces when he recognized the older woman and stopped.This woman he had seen!Thinking that the man was waiting for an introduction,Qin Qing went ahead and spoke confidently,"h.e.l.lo I am Qin Qing and this is my Aunty Xu. We are your next door neighbors and came to welcome you to our village."Extending the hand holding a bright pink box she said,"We brought these rice cakes for you.And this is an invitation to my cousin's engagement ceremony tomorrow.We would be honored if you would join us."

She looked expectantly at the handsome and cold man in front of her with s.h.i.+ning eyes looking the epitome of innocence. Ryu Long stared silently at them until they finally realized that they were being looked down upon.Not wanting to give up,Qin Qing made a puppy face and said softly,"I'll place these things here at the mailbox...please do consider..."Putting his phone to his ear,Ryu told a.s.sistant Yang to continue and that he had been interrupted by some useless flies...

This made the mouths of both women fall open.

Ryu,satisfied that the women had made a fool of themselves,closed the door in their face without a glance at the offerings leaving them standing there, red with anger and resentment.

An hour later,Alicia arrived at the door and saw the offerings sitting on the mail box.Picking up the card on top,Alicia looked at the invite...it seems someone had come to pay lip service to her hubby...and been turned back brutally...Taking the card with her,she picked up the pink box and threw it in the dustbin and went into her house.
