181 Hunger Strike

He wasn't really fond of Thai food but she craved it like a desperate woman craved adoration.

Spicy Shrimp Soup, Red Curry, Chicken in Coconut Soup were her favourite. And except seafood, she could eat anything that could be chewed.

People had a sweet tooth but she had a sweet tooth, sour tooth, spicy tooth and even salty tooth. Anything that could melt her taste buds was in her favourites.

But it didn't look like the case today...

The Butler and Hosekeeper were standing on standby and Yu Youhan was sitting on the head of the table with his hands off the table waiting for her.

A maid came with steady hurried step to the table, bowed then stood with her eyes cast down, "Young Master, Ms Le...Lu said and I quo..quote, 'I am n..not coming, my mouth, my wish if I want to add mud in it I will. No one has the right to tell m..me what to shove in it'."

Remembering something she added, "Ms Lu fur...further said she will not eat grain from the house of a man who thinks she is a maniac."

That was the problem with her, she believed in holding the woodcutter from its tip. She would rather keep in her problems like a parasite in her body. Throwing childish tantrums!

Her parents sure spoilt her to no return! Yu Youhan clenched his teeth.

She had pendulum mood swings. Sometimes she was the sweetest pie in the batch but that is until she a flame turn sour and then she is a spitfire.

And this time the flame was his behaviour with her dear father!

The sc.r.a.ping sound of the chair was heard in the dining room that was shrouded in pin-drop silence. Yu Youhan stood up to go to her room.

Butler saw this and cried out in frantic, "Young Master!"

Yu Youhan turned to him with a cold expressionless face and raised a brow.

"Young Ma..Master, if you don't mind me speaking?"

The Butler had been in their family since he left the Army Elite Team but had been the most loyal of his subordinates.

He was already agitated and a hindrance annoyed him to levels he couldn't explain. But none the less he indicated him to continue.

"Young Master, all the information is overwhelming for her. It would be healthy if we give her a little s.p.a.ce to think things through."

Yu Youhan turned is head to the other side. He was right but nothing irked him more than that fact.

To him, there was nothing to think through for her. Her 'fiance' had knowingly or unknowingly knocked up another girl. There was no going back. Her parent and brothers weren't really her favourite people. She didn't have a place to go to.

He was offering her a sanctuary and support in the exchange of giving things a try with him. What was there to think through? Everything was as clear as a crystal.

But women were a complicated web of threads, they themselves didn't understand them so he would give her time to ponder and then come to the obvious solution he already knew.

He took one look at the filled table and his temper flared. He really must have hit his head hard somewhere, the girl annoyed him to the point to turn him blind but still, he liked the only bratty girl he had ever known.

He took a deep breath and left the room. It was better to spend his day working.

Lu Xinyi spent her day under the covers, she was lost. She really didn't know where she belonged out of this comforter.

Her family wasn't really her family. Years of endurance and craving had taught her that she had done well to give up on them. She wasn't going back. She didn't come back from the dead to go back to her personal h.e.l.l.

She loved them and they must love her but this love was toxic to her dreams.

She wanted to do everything an independent ideal woman did. Put her degree to more use than achievement on her belt. She wanted to experience everything tears and laughs. Not a neutralised perfect life, in which she goes immune to happiness.

All she felt with them was that she wasn't enough. Of how she was a foolish, and incapable girl among her two prodigy brothers, who had to stay in the four walls to stay safe and given everything on a silver platter. She hadn't even lived a day in her life with her own accord.

She was a burden but she wouldn't be their burden anymore.

And there was this man, Yu Youhan. She may not be clever or a genius but she wasn't an idiot. No man, especially a man like him didn't do all these things for a stranger woman for nothing.

He was no monk giving her shelter in a temple on the Himalayas! He lived in a big concrete Mansion. Ten times bigger than her family home!

He had ulterior motives! Maybe good motives but still motives and she wasn't in a position to offer anything. She was just tired to offer help, favours and services to others.

Now she wanted to do something for her self.

Dying was an easy escape she sought but if she wasn't dead, she would live for herself, like she would want to live for herself.

She wouldn't allow anybody to walk all over her, she had that enough for one lifetime!

She wouldn't allow anybody to cage her because they are trying to protect her! She wouldn't allow anyone to walk all over her heart because they are guiding her!

She would make her own decision as she was ent.i.tled to. She will commit her share of mistakes as every human commits. She will fall and get up but she wouldn't be anybody's puppet anymore.

If she lived a day after this, she will live it by her own rules but there was still a serious problem here. She had haughtily shouted at the maid but now her stomach was growling in hunger.

She expected Yu Youhan to come and beg her for eating and forgiveness but that evil soul from Netherland didn't bother that it was past dinner and she still hadn't eaten anything!
