170 Misplaced Groom

No thanks! He himself needed a shrink after all this or G.o.d bless, he was going to cause atrocities.

He put on his custom-made Aviator cla.s.sic ic! sungla.s.ses and took the coat the Butler handed him and hanged it on his shoulder. He was in plain b.u.t.ton-down ash grey s.h.i.+rt and khaki jeans from yesterday and Trainers shoes.

He hadn't shaved for days and his hairs weren't in their usual styled look. He shoved his fisted left hand in his pocket. His face was expressionless with his sharp jaw clenched.

He looked rugged but handsomely rugged. In a wild way, he had a charm about himself. He was like a man right out of GQ shoot.

The halfway were familiar and a walk through them was fueling his temper, last time it was her he walked by, crossing these halfways. The woman would do herself a favour to not appear in front of him any time soon.

He intended to marry her! To start a family! h.e.l.l, he wanted to make her the happiest woman on the planet!

He showered his money on her like f*cking confetti and that ungrateful woman was playing him all along! The irony was he even spent time with her missing official meetings and seminars just to cultivate feelings and he thought they had but it didn't seem the case!

He couldn't promise if he wouldn't strangle her! She was playing a stunt all along but this time she had provoked the wrong beast and she was going to realize that soon!

He took a turn to reach the threshold, that's when he lifted his eyes and what he saw left him stunned and his breath hitched. Behind his shades, his eyes widened a fraction.

Lei Xinyi was walking to him...

...Or a carbon copy of Lei Xinyi was walking to him from the front holding the arm of a man he knew too well. She looked nervous and the man beside her looked like he was hardly suppressing his temper from flaring.

She was wearing a peach dress with her natural loose curls of golden-brown hairs let down.

He a.s.sessed her from her ballerina flats to her stocking-clad legs. Lei Xinyi had longer legs that were lean. With her plump curvy figure, She looked a cute porcelain doll but Lei Xinyi didn't. Lei Xinyi looked like a seductress wrapped in paper-fabric.

Then his trailed to her face. The innocent face that once called him out for being an infidel and was now hanging by the arm of his cousin after warming his bed for more than eight months all the time when she was his fiance.

He was infidel but at least he wasn't scandalous unlike his dear 'fiance'!

He really was curious if G.o.d really thought if it was important to make every woman of this face one of her kind.

Looking at her he felt like he was looking at his long-lost mate. A mocking smirk took over his face that ridiculed Lu Xinyi whole existence.

Looks like the wedding is still taking place but maybe the groom was misplaced.

Lu Xinyi tightened her fists on Yu Youhan arm, digging her blunt nails in his arm and bowed her crimson face in embarra.s.sment and shame.

Yu Youhan who was already at the end of his wits glared at Li Yuan but Li Yuan came close to them looked at Lu Xinyi up and down in mock chuckled, and pa.s.sed them.

He had important things to discuss with Jiang Cheng about his 'sister'. If this couple-from-h.e.l.l was here, he was here too and he would rather spend his time with him.

It was his way of putting people in something like torture he was feeling. This woman was partly faulty for all this mess, bulling her was the least he could do!

Lu Xinyi felt she couldn't be further mortified. She was on the verge of crying, biting harshly on her lower lip and stopping the tears that were blurring her vision.

Yu Youhan who was already dreading being here wanted to punch Li Yuan square in the jaw. He would have if he wasn't in his web.

The young woman scratching his arm like a scared scaredy cat was s.h.i.+vering slightly but he had his temper to rein right now.

He pulled her to the living room but she suddenly stood still, rooted to the marble floor. He looked at her and a tear slipped on her left cheek.

"What is it now?" He narrowed his charcoal black eyes into slits and asked coldly.

Early morning even before the sun rose she banged his door like a madwoman, then cried like he was dead and she was widowed for an hour on his bed while he looked at her dumbfounded. He seriously didn't know what to do with a woman bawling her eyes out.

After she was done, she begged him to take her to her family. To her 'home'. It felt like she had poured cold water on him.

Wasn't he her home? Her safeguard? Her pilar? Couldn't she see it?

Today was a working day and he was spending it in useless family reunions because she wouldn't stop crying otherwise. And now it seemed like another episode was starting.

"I...I can't..." Lu Xinyi shook her head with tears spilling from her eyes. A clog of unsaid emotions formed in her throat.

Yu Youhan smiled in satisfaction, "Good, saves us the trouble."

He held her arm to drag her to the other direction but she still stayed rooted to the ground with her head down.

Her hand slipped from his arm to his hand. She looked up at him with pleading eyes and pouting lips like a five-year-old asking for candies when he already had enough.

It wasn't a good sign. She didn't want to leave. She wasn't going to leave without meeting her parents though she didn't want to.

He ran a tired hand through his hair and looked back at her. What could he do in this?! Women sure were crazy creatures!

But he was reluctant. It was her family! The one she ran from! The one that was possibly the culprits behind her life-threatening accident!

She didn't tell him anything but she was an illegitimate daughter, above all an average daughter of two prodigy brothers. Wasn't it supposed to be the cliche story?

Cruel step-mother, indifferent father and bully brothers! Why was she so eager to go meet them was beyond him and it irked him.

He took a deep breath, and held her by her shoulders, "Listen, if you want to go in there I will take you to 'see' them but if you leave with me right now. We are never coming to see them. Do you get me?"
