126 A Little Piece Of Heaven

Lei Xinyi who had shut her eyes and was relieving herself in the serenity of the moment opened her eyes to see forestry, forestry on a small hill.

Where Li Yaun had parked the car was stacked concrete stone stairs and one look at them you could tell that they were crafted by pros. Vintage and well crafted.

It was obvious they cost a fortune to be constructed in this secluded place.

The area was fenced and though a normal person couldn't tell the fences did look electrocuted. It was private property.

Lei Xinyi looked back at Li Yaun who was taking a duffel bag out of the back seat and walking to her with a grin.

Lei Xinyi looked at him with hooded eyes and bit her lower lip looking at the steps in the wilder. She turned to him.

"So... Is this the part where you creepily tell me that you are a serial killer who is infatuated with young virgins' blood and think that it can keep you be young forever then kill me and dump my body here for no one to ever find?"

Li Yuan threw his head back and laughed. The woman had one of the weirdest thought processes he had ever seen.

He flung his arm on her shoulder and tugged her to walk on the Reclaimed Granite Steps.

"No, sweetheart. I will never leave you in an innominate or unhonoured place for animals to feast on."

Giving a pause for a moment, he smirked, "I will give you a grand funeral, the grandest the world has seen then build an exquisite monument in your memory."

Lei Xinyi snorted and muttered, "I don't have a single doubt you will."

In response, Li Yaun snickered.

But Lei Xinyi really believed this wretched supposed fiancé of her will do this and take great pleasure in doing so.

Who knows he may even find a way to mess with her corpse and get a reaction out of it for his amus.e.m.e.nt!

They didn't have to walk much when they saw a big cottage sized house come in their sight of view.

It wasn't a wooden made house it was lavish like a resort would be. Lavish with a touch of mild gentleness in its decor.

It was modernized yet exquisite. The place looked beautiful built in a clearing surrounded by greenery.

A little distance away she could also see a natural medium-sized hot spring.

The place was definitely a piece of heaven!

Being in the big and grand settings of the rich, she almost forgot how such houses were her favorite.

She turned to Li Yaun who was looking at her reaction with a slight smile on his lips.

"Li Yaun, thi... this place! It's so beautiful!" She said with a genuine smile on her lips.

Li Yaun smiled and nodded in her direction.

"I Know, Darling."

Lei Xinyi whose eyes were twinkling with wonder as she took in the house in front of her, gushed, "What is this place?! How do you know about it?!"

Li Yaun rolled his eyes at her, "I know of this place because I own it and I know of this place because when I wanted time... alone I would mostly wander around the places."

Li Yuan paused as if reminiscing something unpleasant then sighed.

"In one of my expeditions, I found this place. The teen me fell in love with the natural glamour of the place. I come here often now to escape life for a while."

"Later I bought the place and built the house here for comfort sake."

Lei Xinyi looked at him for a moment then averted her eyes.

They were a stark contrast to each other. He is running from life while she is running for life.

How melancholic! How Pathetic! But how real!

"And life doesn't follow you here?"

Li Yuan shook his head sardonically, "No, it doesn't. No one knows of this place. No signals here so yeah. I leave life behind those fences, just for a while but life leaves me."

Lei Xinyi turned to him with an unreadable expression on her face. He wasn't looking at her he was looking at the scenery ahead of them.

She asked him something, she knew, she shouldn't have. For it will change a lot of things.

"Why bring me here?" She voiced quietly.

Li Yuan didn't turn to look at her, not for a while but then turned toward her.

"The place is home to me more than the cold hard magnificent stones had ever been and I feel you are a part of my home too."

Lei Xinyi looked in his eyes and saw an emotion she had never seen anywhere before she tried to fake a smile but couldn't.

She couldn't when she knew there was nothing true about it, like there was nothing true about her.

They were staring, deciphering the moment but it was void that waited for them at the end of the tunnel so Lei Xinyi looked away.

She blinked then faked a laugh, "So now you are going to kill me then freeze my body and hang me on the mantle above your fireplace to give you homey feelings?"

Lei Xinyi joked lightly to lighten the atmosphere and Li Yaun played along.

"Yeah so, I want you to dress up prettily."

Li Yaun then nudged her inside the house.

Both of them laughed with no humor. It just felt beautiful in the moment.

"That reminds me, weren't you inviting that wretched 'best friend' of yours too. Does she make you feel 'homey' too.?"

Li Yaun smirked at the obvious jealousy in her tone.

"Yeah, I thought you will like a company hanging on the mantle."

Lei Xinyi punched him in the ribs hard which hardly did any damage but to humor his jealous fiancé he hissed.

"Easy Tiger! I wasn't planning to come here but, on the road, I changed my mind!"
