116 Sneaky Fiance

The woman didn't stop, fueling his suspicion. he indicated his men to bring him the girl.

Lei Xinyi ran toward the door only to see it blocked and men guarding it. The heavy footsteps were following her.

She hissed, she was surrounded and there was no way out for her.

Frantically her eyes searched the surrounding when her eyes landed on the staircase leading to the roof, she ran toward it and climbed the stairs.

The door to the roof was locked and she could hear the footsteps prancing the stairs.

The lock unlike the other locks here wasn't a complex combination to her relief.

She took out the pin from her hair and started working on the lock.

The footsteps were nearing. Lei Xinyi bit her lip. Her hands were shaking.

She was almost done when the pin stuck in the rusty lock and broke. Her breath hitched in her throat.

The men were at the end of the stairs and she could very well see them now.

She froze for a moment then took out the sharp pin from her hair of the size of a dagger and like a madwoman attacked the locks consecutively.

She ignored the nearing footsteps behind her and continued hitting the locks with rapid speed and force, making loud clanking noises.

'CLANK!'

With a loud noise the lock was broken. Lei Xinyi opened the door immediately and closed it after her.

She knew they would open the door in a while but it will keep them till she could get off their radar.

Lei Xinyi saw the edge of the building where another building was connected to it but the distance was too much.

While she was pondering on her next move the lock broke. Lei Xinyi looked at the men nearing her.

She took plenty of steps back then jumped.

She fell but instead of the cold hard floor she felt the shop-shelter beneath her.

She took out the pocket knife from her pocket and tore it and landed on the floor rather ungracefully.

Li Yaun's men had jumped too and were hot on her heels. Lei Xinyi was about to run in the opposite direction when A red car parked stopped and the car's door slid open.

Lei Xinyi immediately ran inside it and shut the door and the car drove away instantly.

Lei Xinyi took deep calming breaths.

"Close call?"

Lei Xinyi sneered, "He saw me! He f*cking saw me! I am done doing your dirty work! You deal with your sh*t from now on!"

Saying that she took out the cat ears from her head and threw them on the dashboard.

Su Qianwei grimaced but pursed her lips, "You think he recognized you?"

Lei Xinyi didn't reply. She rested her elbow on the closed window seal and rubbed her temple. A new problem on her plate.

It wasn't possible that he would have recognized her. She was wearing lenses and a wig.

Yes, it wasn't possible!

Yu w.a.n.g pranced the death arena with withering rage. He rounded the Death Arena holding a black mask with silver linings.

He recognized the signature mask. It belonged to The Swan of the underworld.

She was named for her graceful murdering skills. She used the mask as a signature, she left it in her crime scene.

He had found the mask in the ring where Viper corpse still lay.

"It wasn't just a death-match kill. They knew we were coming for him so they somehow killed him." He murmured walking back and forth.

He was important they needed him for information.

The man hadn't lost even once in all these years and he had been partic.i.p.ating in these death matches for 7 years at the least.

The story just didn't add up together.

Then the mask in his hand. Many gamblers did throw things in the ring but a mask wasn't the kind of thing they did.

Then he remembered the fight that broke out in front of the staircase. Viper died seconds before they reached the ring.

She was delaying them like she knew what was happening.

"The culprit isn't going to be produced through thin air by your parading like that." He heard the deep voice of Li Yaun from behind him.

He was sitting on a barstool pouring himself wine with a poise of an Emperor while his mind was occupied by his mysterious Empress.

The woman was oddly familiar and her running like that had made it just suspicious for him.

They had vacated the Arena as they entered.

"It's The Swan! F*ck! She is involved!" He shouted through gritted teeth.

Failure and defeat always left a sour taste in his mouth.

Li Yaun smirked then shrugged, "It was your a.s.signment, you deal with the aftermath I just tagged along."

Anyway he had more important things to deal with right now like a sneaky fiance.
