3 Pinky Promise

"Alright, my little angel." said the mother as she kissed the forehead of the little girl.

"But you also have to pay price." added the mother.

The daughter then kissed her mother on the cheek.

"Now it's your turn." said the little girl with a demanding tone.

The mother could only chuckle of how dominating her daughter acted.

She then covered her daughter with the blanket and read the fairy tale of All-Kinds-of-Fur by the Grimm brothers to her daughter as a bedtime story.

"Once upon a time in some far-off kingdom…"

As the little girl fell asleep, the mother was about to leave the child's room.

However, her daughter subconsciously reached for her wrist.

With closed eyes the little girl murmured:

"Mommy, does prince charming really exist?"

The mother then stroked her daughter's hair and kissed the tip of her nose.

"My little angel, you will find one day your prince charming. Just as I found mine."

Thereupon, a smile appeared on the chubby cheeks of the little girl.

….

The sound of knocking woke Liz up.

Her still sleepy eyes wandered across the room.

She was still in the bed chamber of princess Eleanor.

So the transmigration was not a nightmare. It was harsh reality.

Lost in thoughts, Liz remembered her dream or rather an old memory of hers.

A warm feeling feeling spread through Liz's chest.

However, back then never did she know that it was the last time she would see her mother.

If she had known it back then, she would have done anything to prevent the car accident that took the lives of her parents.

At that night, her parents had a romantic date together.

But on the way to the restaurant they met a car accident which had cost their lives.

Since then she was placed in the care of her maternal aunt and the good days were over.

She was constantly neglected and abused from her aunt's family.

Although Liz convinced herself their opinions did not matter, it still hurted.

She often cried till she fell asleep asking herself whether she was a bad child.

Being a bad child was the only logical reason for her why her parents died and why her aunt's family treated her worse.

When she found out that her parents accident was planned murder she swore that she would make those murderer pay.

Her investigation result pointed out that her aunt's family was the culprit.

The reason?

They wanted to inherit her parent's company.

As Liz had sworn, she had indeed fulfilled her vow.

She made her aunt's family life a living h.e.l.l.

From that day on, Liz had an emotional barrier built around her heart.

She was cold and indifferent to anyone.

Especially to those who dared to approach her.

It changed when she met Rose.

Rose triggered feelings in her that she thought she does not posses anymore.

"In the end you lied to me mother, I never found my prince charming like you said. mumbled Liz to herself and a bitter smile appeared on her face.

The men who approached her were all gold diggers.

She could read it from their eyes.

Liz snapped out from her daze when she heard the knocking sounds again.

"Come in." said Liz with a throaty voice.

A young maid entered her bed chamber with a tray of pastries.

"Y-young princess, I am here to deliver you breakfast." stammered the young maid with bowed head.

'She is the young maid who was with me when I woke up her for the first time'

Looking closer at her Liz thought that she was giving a very familiar aura which she could not a.s.sign.

"You can put it on the bedside table."

The young maid placed it quickly on the bedside table.

'She is behaving like a scared little white rabbit. Am I that scary? I have not done anything to her. Well not yet.'

"What's your name?" asked Liz with a firm voice.

"I – I am Lilly, young princess." said the young maid in a voice filled with fear.

Her legs were shaking.

Liz then ma.s.saged her temples.

"Look I don't remember why you are so scared of me. But could you stop it. It is really unbecoming. Furthermore, I want you to call me Eleanor." Liz said.

"I would not dare young princess." responded the young maid.

"But I want you to call me Eleanor. Are you going against my will?"

Sweat was dripping from the forehead of the maid.

"I – I am sorry Eleanor." retorted the young maid.

Seeing her frightened to that degree made Liz heart ache.

She just want to be called Eleanor by her.

She also does not know why as she usually detests if someone tries to be intimate with her.

"You don't have to be sorry. I just hope that we can be friends." said Liz with a gentle gaze.

Lilly was dumbfounded.

Does heaven wants to play a joke on her?!

The princess wants to be friends with her?!

Lilly's jaw dropped and she pinched herself in her arm, thinking that everything was just a dream.

Liz chuckled because of Lilly's actions

"You are not dreaming. I really want to be friends with you." repeated Liz.

"Ehmm then I think we can be friends if you want it so badly." said Lilly crimson red.

"Then let's make a pinky promise that we will be friends until the bitter end." suggested Liz.

'Pinky promise? Seriously, why I am suddenly so childish?!'

"What is a pinky promise?" asked Lilly embarra.s.sed.

"Well it is like a normal promise with the differences that the two parties are locking their pinkies when they are making their promise. Furthermore, if one of the party breaks the promise this person has to swallow 1000 nails." said Liz with a big grin.

"T-Thousand 1000 nails?!"

Lilly could not believe that such a vulgar custom existed.

"What are you afraid of? You are not intending to break the promise right?" said Liz in a teasing tone.

"N-No princess, I will try my best to become a good friend of yours!" responded Lilly with a determined voice.

"She is really cute." said Liz without knowing that she spoke her thoughts out loud.

Hearing this compliment from the princess the ears of Lilly turned red.

"T-Thank you Elanor." Lilly said with a shy voice.

'Don't tell me I said my thoughts out loud?! Way to go Liz.'

Liz then cleared her throat.

"If there is nothing else Lilly you are dismissed."

Lilly nodded and then left the bed chamber.

The next days Liz was occupied with dancing and etiquette cla.s.ses to prepare herself for the masked ball by Madam Wu.

According to the novel Madam Wu did not only mistreated Eleanor because she has the favor of her parents, she was also a spy from Demonia.

"And you call yourself a princess? Even my niece who is a commoner would have done better than you!" nagged the old hag.

Liz waited for this moment.

"Mind your words Madam Wu infront of you stands not only your future queen but also the queen of Mazeldovia. Don't forget you got this position through my parents and they can always take it from you. It just take one single word of mine." Liz said leisurely while looking at her fingernails.

Madam Wu face turned pale.

"I – I am sorry young princess. It will never happen again." uttered Madam Wu.

"I hope so for your sake. You should know firing you is the least thing that my parents can do to you. Afterall, you insulted their precious daughter. Better don't test my patience." Liz lips then curved into a devilish smirk.

" I understand princess."

After the incident, Madam Wu behaved like a loyal dog towards Liz.

Always kissing her a.s.s.

Liz felt disgusted by it but on the other hand she also really enjoyed it.

Afterall, she is stripping her pride for her.

'Anyone who dares to stand in my way will see. I can't wait to meet him.' and a mischievous smile crept on Liz's face.
