5 Spirit Grade Appraisal

"I'm sorry..." The impression Ying Yue gave off, towards Ao Si Ka was not wrong and should be considered in Spirit Hall a normal conscientious attendant.

However, Ming Yi is a lot much older, and more experienced, in the line of her work. From just a glance, she could easily pick up on the signs, detailing the movement, and body language of her client.

From her sense of reasoning, and observation, she could easily tell that Ao Si Ka was of no background, born of common folks, maybe working cla.s.s.

His att.i.tude and manners of speaking show that he was properly raised, or even educated to some degree. But his attire is clearly worse off, presumably not wash for days, or even weeks.

A logical conclusion is that he was an orphan, forced to live on the streets, or abandoned by his birth parents.

Ming Yi's deduction was straight on. As she has seen many children that was born and raised on the streets. Some of them were even discovered to possess amazing talents for cultivation, therefore was adopted into major families, or fostered into a Clan.

Ming Yi was somewhat apologetic, as she spoke to Ao Si Ka. Whilst giving out orders to her colleague. "Ying Yue, please guide the boy to see the elders."

Ying Yue happily obliged, and brought Ao Si Ka along the side, climbing a flight of stairs to the Spirit Hall second floor, reaching the second-floor landing.

Here Ao Si Ka could see a large hallway, that was surrounded by enclosed rooms, and from here one could also directly see the first-floor hall. With no need to ask, this should be Spirit Hall's office area.

Ying Yue was obviously impatient to go accompany Ming Yi, her body stiffens a bit, bringing Ao Si Ka with lightning speed to reach the door of a room, and without knocking, pushed the door and entered.

"Who is this, ah, how bold." A somewhat hoa.r.s.e voice resounded from within the room.

This was a well-lit office, and behind a s.p.a.cious desk sat an elderly man, in neat and tidy spirit master dress, along with the three standard three swords symbol, showing he was a spirit grandmaster level battle spirit master.

"So it's Ying Yue, why are you kids so rash. For spirit master's cultivation, one must concentrate one's attention, with a steady disposition. Otherwise, you will come to resemble me, somehow unable to advance past the thirtieth rank threshold."

Ying Yue somewhat grumbling, farrowing her brows, and said. "Grandmaster Xu Ling Guo, don't be so long-winded. This child has come to undergo spirit advancement appraisal. I'll trouble elder with the accession."

Ying Yue's relations.h.i.+p with this old spirit master was clearly very good, almost comparable to grandfather and his grandchild, as the old grandmaster lightly chuckled.

Just as his gaze was about to drop down, meeting the gaze of Ao Si Ka, he couldn't help but be somewhat astonished at the predicament. "Ying Yue, are you certain this child has come to undergo advancement appraisal and not spirit awakening?"

Ying Yue said with a wry smile, almost insinuating something, then why else would my elder sister get upset at me for. "Of course, I'm certain, Elder Xu. I've already verified that the boy Ao Si Ka, with his sausage spirit, already obtained his first spirit ring, therefore he recently advanced to the spirit master realm. Elder, I will have to trouble you. I've got important matters to discuss with sister Ming Yi, so I will leave first."

She finished speaking, lightly tap on Ao Si Ka's shoulders, giving Ao Si Ka a heart warming smile, before she hastily walks out.

It left Ao Si Ka to be in a slight daze, as he revealed a confused look.

Looking at Ying Yue's back, the old spirit master Xu Ling Guo gaze softened, but couldn't help shake his head. "Youngsters, these days, so impatient to get work done, that they should put more effort into cultivating. Or else they becomes like me... wasting their youth."

Ao Si Ka stood alongside old spirit master Xu Ling Guo, hearing Xu Ling Guo's mutter to himself, and ramblings about youth.

Ao Si Ka spoke up, snapping old spirit master Xu Ling Guo out of his ramblings, and grabbing his attention. "h.e.l.lo, grandmaster Xu Ling Guo."

Abruptedly stopping old spirit master Xu Ling Guo's rambling. He smiled gently, warmly patting Ao Si Ka's little head. He spoke. "Child, there is no need to call me, Grandmaster. My achievement and status does not warrant much. I cannot be amounted to an, Grandmaster. Besides this year, I'm already eighty-two years old, going by that age, calling me your grandfather does not pose an issue."

The old man's kind, warm, and affectionate demeanor, immediately increased Ao Si Ka's good impression of him. And then again, he greeted him. "h.e.l.lo, grandpa Xu..."

Old spirit master Xu Ling Guo smiled slightly. However, a hint of grief resurfaces, only to dissappear shorty afterwards.

He thought to himself, as it bring back old memories. Ao Si Ka kind of remind him of his son. 'It's too bad that I don't have any grandchildren. My son, the last of my bloodline died, many years ago... sigh.'

He continued the conversation, with holding his emotions back. "Come, I bring you to undergo advancement appraisal. You are a very polite child. It's kind of a pity that a talent such as you is wasted. Unfortunately, you weren't selected for the free scholars.h.i.+p, out from the bunch."

While speaking, old spirit master Xu Ling Guo led him, pulling at Ao Si Ka little hand, seeing him as almost his grandchild, to leave the office, walking along the second floor landing towards the inner side of Spirit Hall.

Just as they reached the end of the landing, three lofty vaulted doors appeared before Ao Si Ka.

Old spirit master Xu Ling Guo said with a slight smile: "Here is the actual spirit testing room for undergoing advancement appraisal. Come child."

Whilst speaking, old spirit master Xu Ling Guo pushed open the leftmost door, bringing Ao Si Ka to walk inside.

Entering the room, Ao Si Ka felt an unfamiliar feeling, causing him some slight discomfort; his internal spiritual power fluctuating, moving slightly, out of his control, as if following a particular kind of rhythm.

This room was very wide, and also very tall, as much as two hundred square metres, and an immense window provided ample lighting.

Ao Si Ka immediately found out the cause that which is affecting his internal spiritual power: on all four walls, all around were inset uncountable fist sized black rocks, looking like the material should be the same as what Spirit Masters originally used for spirit awakening.

On the floor, was depicted an enormous token tile's symbol, a long sword pointing down, pointing right at the gate entrance.

This symbol was like the one mounted outside Spirit Hall.

Old spirit master Xu Ling Guo saw Ao Si Ka taking notice of the pattern on the floor, and said with a slight smile: "We here are the lowest rank Spirit Hall, also known as a Branch Spirit Hall..."
