25 Marching For Blood

Standing in front of the fifty goblins I knew I had already showed my 'strength' so they wouldn't cause an issue right now but once more gathered I couldn't be quite sure about that. So I needed a show of strength that would make them wors.h.i.+p me, or respect me as a leader. Especially since I saw the look the one Goblin Shaman was giving me, a hint of anger flowed through them for a second after I beat him up.

Thinking about the situation I could not personally influence the battlefield a whole lot, even with heroes a war can be lost just because of the limited actions that one person has. Luckily, that wasn't the case with myself, at the current I could maintain a connection with three of my creatures at once allowing them into this world. That of course didn't include Morningstar, who I really needed to feed to evolve.

I wasn't doing nothing with the world inside of me when I left it, but I really didn't want to go back into there as I had been trapped in there for a long time. The system did provide though, showing a screen much like an real time strategy game, and letting me work out some of the details easily from reality. Flicking over the current units available to me I choose the three most powerful ones.

About to summon them I noticed something, some of the units didn't actually count for a single summon. The G.o.d Drone itself cost two, so I wouldn't be able to summon two of them like I planned. The stranglers however could be summoned at a rate of two per every summon slot. Instead of summoning one G.o.d Drone I settled for having six stranglers as normal drones didn't seem to be worth it as they cost one each.

Six black orbs appeared around me, words appearing on the screen saying that the summon was commencing. Looking back to William he seemed to have a blank look on his face, watching the orbs. "Summoning? I feel like you've dulled my ability to be surprised."

"They are the same race as my contracted beast, please don't mind them they are very curious." The b.a.l.l.s of darkness all fell one by one as the skittering creatures started to spread out and poke things with their tentacles, and taking bites of anything that seemed squishy enough to bite. This included William, who ended up kicking the little guy away, who looked at him with big black eyes.

The goblins however were all holding their breaths, they had experienced what one of these creatures could do, now that there were seven of them their eyes lit up with hope.

"Now all of you, I will explain what the deal you've all agreed too entails. I didn't want to have to explain this fifty different times just to get my point across." Using wind magic I made sure my voice could be heard clearly to each one of them. "Your lives and your deaths are in my hands now, I will be your general for this war. If I say that you die you will die, but know this I want to crush those other races under my boot."

I could see that some of the goblins were talking amongst themselves but they didn't seem unsatisfied with my proposition. Most of the eyes staring at me had fury buried deep inside of them but this time it wasn't for me. "Most of you here lost loved ones, but I don't give a s.h.i.+t. You won't get pity from me, instead I offer you revenge! I offer you the death of your enemies! Follow my lead and your days may be numbered, but your enemy's corpses will fill this land.

I can see some of you look to me for hope, I don't provide such stupid things, hope is for the weak willed. I offer you blood, anyone who wishes to fight yell to the heavens what you want!"

The lot of goblins hadn't heard any speeches before in their lives so they were deeply inspired by my loose words, "Blood!" They chanted and got up, the only one who seemed reluctant was the cleric as he looked around him.

I yelled out again, "There are some people among you who don't understand your pa.s.sion! What do you want?"

"BLOOD!"

I laughed happily as I started walking to one of the Kobold's bases, they would be the easiest to subjugate since they are mostly focused on hit and run tactics. Attacking them in their village would be more beneficial to me, and their traps were all written down on in the manual I held at my side.

According to what I understood about goblins, their evolutionary tree could make something that I really wanted to see. It was an evolution of Goblin that didn't turn into an orc, which I planned on forcing the conditions that some researchers believed caused the evolution. If I let them be eaten I expected to get good genes from their corpses.

The goblin grin on the mask matched my own as we set forth with weapons and touches to raze a village to the ground. My body felt light as we ran forward to take them by surprise before any scouts that could be in the area could report back anything I said. I wasn't being quiet and I knew reports would get back.

As I ran along with them I started up a cadence, this would make our arrival easier to notice but it would keep their spirits high.

"A goblin once said he needed one thing!"

"Blood!"

"Break their bones and make it rain!"

"Blood!"

"To keep me going I need to see!"

"Blood!"

"With my cleaver I'll paint the scene!"

"Blood!"

By the time they saw the kobold village the goblin's eyes were red with anger and oddly enough in step with each other like a well trained unit. Seven black dots could be seen sliding around their formation with ease as they seemed to enjoy the singing, making high pitched hissing any time the goblins said blood as if to join in.

The village was already alert but the defenses weren't complete by the time they saw the goblins. The marching and yelling had gotten to their nerves though as each one of them upon the small walls of the village had a look of dread on their faces. The lights of the fires in the goblin's hands reflected on their large reptilian eyes as the group of goblins stopped completely in sync.

"Let then know what the price of war is!"

"Blood!"

"Then f.u.c.king charge!"

"Blooooooood!" They all yelled as a war cry and ran down the hill in full sprints, flaming torches going through the air as they ran. Even the cleric had been taken into the group as his eyes were red with bloodl.u.s.t, nearly foaming at the mouth.
