Chapter 301: Xu Moyan Patted Her Chest, Luckily She Was Fast.

There was a man standing in front of the door of a Cayenne that was pointing toward the direction of their office. He was holding a phone against his ear, but even though his face was partially hidden, it was evident that he was handsome.A female colleague pointed out the window. “It's him! The one who's talking on the phone! He's so handsome in person, he's even more handsome than the models in magazines! I saw him when I came out of the supermarket just now, but I was afraid that he'd notice me so I didn't stay long. I'm telling you, my heart was beating so fast in my chest!”

“Let me go redo my makeup. Hopefully, he's still there when I go down,” replied another person.

“Are you trying to get his attention with the intention of starting a relations.h.i.+p with him?” Asked a third person in disbelief.

“Who knows?” The person smirked while getting up from her seat. Then, she took out a Korean-branded BB cus.h.i.+on and started doing her makeup on the spot without even going to the restroom. “Even if I can't start a relations.h.i.+p with him, at the least, I'll be able to leave a good impression on him; that's why I can't look like a mess. I'll be happy if he even looks at me, though.”

Since it was after work, they did not control their volume in the office. Additionally, the single colleagues were as excited as a group of schoolgirls, so they could not care less about lowering their volume.

Xu Moyan figured their conversation had more or less been heard through the phone.n

Wei Zilin's voice sounded out in her ear as she was feeling embarra.s.sed. “Looks like I'm quite popular among your colleagues.”

Xu Moyan's face burned up. She did not know how to answer thequestion.

Normally, she would have been quick to reply. She may not be witty, but she was still able to carry a conversation well. However, when it came to Wei Zilin, her mind would go blank. At that moment, she could not even harness one-tenth of her abilities. Perhaps it was only her culinary skills that had not deteriorated in front of him.

“If you think it's inconvenient this way, I can wait for you in the car. You can come down once your colleagues are gone.” Wei Zilin told her considerately.

If they did not do this, then Xu Moyan would probably get interrogated by her colleagues the next day.

Even though Wei Zilin wanted to head to Xu Moyan's location and act all gentlemanly, since their relations.h.i.+p was not yet official, this would only cause her trouble. If not for this, then he would have liked to let her colleagues and the world know that he was her boyfriend as soon as possible.

Xu Moyan looked at the situation in her office and said into the phone while pouting, “If you keep standing there, I think they'll just keep staring at you. I'll come down now, so let's leave before they all rush down after me.”

Wei Zilin chuckled. Xu Moyan was not sure if he was laughing at her for being too cautious; she was acting as though she were a spy.

Thus, Xu Moyan continued shyly, “I'm sorry. It's not that we can't be seen in public together, but you're too flashy. If my colleagues saw you, then I'll be in big trouble tomorrow.”

They would surely ask her what kind of relations.h.i.+p the pair of them were in.

However, that raises the question: what exactly was her relations.h.i.+p with Wei Zilin?

She felt that Wei Zilin thought highly of her by referring to her as his friend; it was only supposed to show that he did not consider himself superior to her.

Nevertheless, none of her colleagues would believe her if she said this.

“It's okay, you don't have to feel sorry. I understand,” Wei Zilin said with a hint of laughter in his voice. “I'll get into the car first. You know my car, so you can just get in immediately once you come down. Initially, I wanted to wait for you and open the door for you like a gentleman but I guess that won't be possible.”

Xu Moyan felt happy when she thought about this and she could not wait. No matter how pure their relations.h.i.+p was, it was worth it to be able to be treated by Wei Zilin like this.

“You said we're friends, so why are you being so polite with me?” Xu Moyan looked around her. She then slipped away when they were busy redoing their makeup and not paying attention to her.

Before entering the elevator, she quickly said, “I have to hang up now, the signal in the elevator isn't that good.”

Wei Zilin nodded and hung up. At the same time, Xu Moyan hurried into the elevator.

Since the her female colleagues were still doing their makeup, the elevator felt emptier than usual.

Even though she had not looked out the window like the others, when she stepped out of the building, she immediately recognized the familiar Cayenne parked opposite the entrance.

Xu Moyan looked left and right before heading toward the car. Luckily, the pa.s.senger seat was facing the road, so she did not have to go around the car and could simply immediately jump inside.

Xu Moyan swiftly opened the door and left out a sigh of relief after she got into the car. Due to her anxiousness, she did not feel as nervous as she normally did when interacting with Wei Zilin. “Start the car!” She ordered desperately .

Wei Zilin smiled before obeying Xu Moyan's order and slowly driving the car away.

Xu Moyan felt embarra.s.sed after putting on her seatbelt. She had ordered Wei Zilin because she was in a hurry, but did not know what to say to him now.

She looked at the side mirror of the car and saw her colleagues slowly coming out of the office, thinking that Wei Zilin was still there. They did not want to rush out in one go because they were afraid that this would ruin their image. What they did not know was that Wei Zilin had already left with her, leaving them racking their heads in the dust.

Xu Moyan figured they must have taken the elevator after her, which was why no one had seen her getting into Wei Zilin's car. They had came out right after her.

Xu Moyan patted her chest in relief. Thankfully, she was fast enough.

Wei Zilin saw her do this and his gaze followed her soft white hands to the place where her palm was resting, right in front of that enticing spot.

Wei Zilin stopped and took a deep breath. Then, he lifted his left hand and rubbed the tip of his nose as he felt another part of his body getting warmer.

“Why do you look relieved?” His voice was hoa.r.s.e.

Xu Moyan smiled at him and replied, “I was lucky that I got down in time since my colleagues must have came down in the elevator after mine. They got there just after we left.”

Wei Zilin smiled, and his voice sounded just as nice as usual. It made Xu Moyan question whether or not his hoa.r.s.e voice from before was just her imagination.

Nevertheless, she still asked, “Your voice sounded a bit hoa.r.s.e, are you sick?”

It was the first time Wei Zilin was speechless when facing one of Xu Moyan's questions. He pondered for a while before replying, “No, my throat just felt a little bit itchy.”

Thus, Xu Moyan took out a box of lozenges from her bag. “I have some lozenges. Have one.”

Wei Zilin snuck a peek and nodded. “Might as well.” Then, he stuck out a hand in front of Xu Moyan, signalling for her to put one in his palm.

Xu Moyan knew that it was inconvenient for him since he was driving. However, she could not help but notice that his fair but dry hands looked nice even with his unruly and shallow palm prints.

She thought to herself, 'He's handsome, his voice is nice, and even the less important parts of him are attractive.'

She knew that she could not tell whether someone was attractive just by looking at their palm prints, so she could have just been thinking of him as all around attractive in her head.

All things considered, this was, in fact, true to her. Wei Zilin was great in all regards.

She accidentally poured out two lozenges from the box when she only meant to pour out one, so she decided to have the other one herself.

She took the other lozenge and put it into Wei Zilin's palm when she accidentally touched his palm. It felt as dry as she had imagined, but was also softer than it looked. It was not as soft as a woman's hand, but it was just as strong as a man's hand, which was much better than her opinion.

The temperature in his palm was also a bit warmer than usual. When she touched his palm with her fingerprints, his palm print felt like little electric shocks which then ran through her body.

Xu Moyan shuddered. She quickly retracted her hand after feeling the tingling sensation travel from her ears all the way down the back of her neck.

As Wei Zilin simultaneously tried to retract his hand, his rough fingertips touched hers as though they wanted to hold her hand before slipping away. This made their brief physical contact much more intimate and longer.

Xu Moyan's hand also began trembling, such that she almost dropped her own lozenge.

She turned her head to see Wei Zilin holding the lozenge between his fingers before popping it into his mouth. However, his fingers touched his lips and momentarily stopped for some reason.

Xu Moyan's face felt warm. His fingertips had just brushed against hers!

Maybe this was just an accident and not intentional, but he did, in fact, touch her.

Xu Moyan lowered her heated face. It felt as if she had a fever as she began to feel dizzy. She put the other lozenge in her own mouth and thought about what he just did. However, as she did this, she felt her fingertips on her lips and immediately realized that her fingers had also just touched his.
