Both of them had also taken Chu Xi along. Yan Ningbai really missed Chu Xi; he even made a call last night to repeatedly tell them to bring Chu Xi with them. 

Lin Chu knew that Sheng Town's neighborhood was slightly bigger than Ding City. It had a whole range of residences, from high-rise duplex apartments to villas. Despite this, the villas were built later whereas Yan Huaian and Yu Zi had moved in beforehand.

Now they felt that they were getting pretty used to living in Sheng Town. Since Yan Ningbai was still young, they were afraid that moving and living somewhere else too hastily might be hard on Yan Ningbai. In addition to this, he had a poor sense of direction and could not recognize roads ever since he was little.

Yu Zi once mentioned that when Yan Ningbai was four years old, he went out to play with others in the residential area. In the end, he blindly went into the wrong building when he wanted to return home to have dinner.

They lived in Block no. 5, but Yan Ningbai miscounted their street corner. Instead, he turned around one corner early and went to block no. 4. He actually remembered the door of the unit and pressed the doorbell, and as someone opened the door for him, he entered as though there was no problem. He found the unit on the same floor of his own home only realized his mistake when he spotted the wrong door.

Yan Ningbai was scared and cried at that moment. The people felt pitiful seeing him cry so they brought him inside and subsequently made a phone call to his home.

Yan Ningbai even asked while crying, "You…you won't kidnap and sell me, right?"

They had good intentions but what Yan Ningbai said caused their faces to darken.

They eventually could not do anything but call the police. Only once the police officer in uniform came over did Yan Ningbai reveal Yu Zi's phone number.

Yu Zi was worried that he would get lost, so she forced Yan Ningbai to memorize the number.

When Yu Zi came to pick up Yan Ningbai, the police officer sighed and claimed that he had never met a kid who was as wary as Yan Ningbai. He was uncertain whether to praise him for being intelligent and remaining vigilant or whether to call stupid, as he was stupid enough to make a wrong turn and go into the building one street over.

The neighbor was displeased; it was clearly just a matter of taking him to the next block but they were forced to go through a lot of trouble by calling the police to come over.

Wanting to do something good had caused them so much difficulty!

However, Yan Ningbai's inability to recognize roads did not improve as he grew older. With great difficulty, Yan Ningbai walked around the area and familiarized himself with Sheng Town. Therefore, the married couple, Yan Huaian and Yu Zi, did not dare move out of this place recklessly.

Yan Huaian had said, "My son is now at the age where he is pale, chubby and very adorable. What if he were be abducted and sold?"

In reality, Lin Chu felt that the average person would not be able to kidnap him due to Yan Ningbai's cleverness.

Because of this, both of them were discussing staying in Sheng Town and not moving anywhere else. Sheng Town coincidentally also had villas, which they soon bought. 

Although Yan Beicheng went to Sheng Town often, he only recognized the location of Yan Huaian's house and was not clear about the number of other floors.

After asking the security guard at the entrance, he arrived at the gate in front of Yan Huaian's house. 

The land in B City was very expensive, so buildings were constructed in high density when Yan Hui bought the land in the past.

Because the land was valuable, Yan Beicheng created Sheng Town with a high-end clientele in mind. There were actually not many residential buildings being built, so the aim was to make it high-end so the wealthy would be happy and feel that it had a certain cla.s.s to it upon moving in.

The majority of the land was built to keep the area 'green' with artificial streams and lakes.

A few buildings were built around the largest artificial lake whereas the villas were constructed behind the tall buildings. The artificial stream which had been excavated to run close to the buildings flowed slowly in front of every villa.

A small bridge with running water in the neighborhood was the result of artistic conception.

Inside the courtyard of the villa, a big piece of land remained empty so that the inhabitants would be able to unleash their creativity. Since everyone had fat pockets, it was up to them whether they wanted to excavate it for a swimming pool, or turn it into a garden, or a j.a.panese courtyard.

Yan Huaian and the family of three were waiting by the gate. Chu Xi rested its body on the window of the car, but barked happily when it saw Yan Ningbai. When he saw the young boy, it wanted to jump out of the car.

Lin Chu quickly had Yan Beicheng close the window of the back seat, so as to avoid Chu Xi leaping out the car window.

Once the car was finally parked, Lin Chu opened the door and got out of the car. A round shadow could be seen scurrying out like a bullet as Chu Xi rushed toward Yan Ningbai, braking abruptly in front of him.

"Chu Xi, you missed me so much huh!" Yan Ningbai carried Chu Xi in his arms.

This relations.h.i.+p between a human and a dog was very deep. Chu Xi did not stop whimpering as if it were a pampered child as it continuously licked Yan Ningbai's face.

After the two of them made out for a while, Yan Ningbai stood up. He stroked Chu Xi's head while talking to Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu, "Big nephew, big niece-in-law, come in quick. Dad made it look really cool for me!"

The courtyard of the villa was huge - it even had a front yard and backyard.

The courtyard went through a transformation after the previous tenants renovated it. Therefore, Yan Huaian and his family made a complete alteration to the courtyard before moving in, making it fit the style that they liked. 

They filled up the big swimming pool in the front yard and excavated two swimming pools in the backyard, one big and the other small. The small swimming pool was very shallow, with a depth of less than a meter. It was probably prepared especially for Yan Ningbai.

After the front yard was filled up, it had been completely transformed into Yan Ningbai's small-scaled outdoor playground. 

His small Tesla was parked pretentiously beside the garage, and Yan Huaian had even installed rock climbing walls at the wall of the courtyard. His thinking was very clever, he wanted Yan Ningbai to work out and lose weight while playing.

However, it was a pity that Yan Ningbai never climbed even once.

"Big nephew, big niece-in-law, I usually drive my car around the neighborhood. I'll bring you to go for a spin later!" Yan Ningbai said, raising his small chubby arm and pointing at the surroundings.

She saw Yan Ningbai's Tesla before, and did not have the slightest interest in sitting on the trunk of the car and acting ostentatiously.

During the one week in which Mo Jinxi had previously lived in Ding City, the two brats had made Aunt Zhuang feel embarra.s.sed to bring them out of the house. 

The two brats brought Yan Ningbai's Tesla downstairs. Since the Tesla was made for kids to drive around and have fun, one could imagine that there was only one small narrow seat in the car.

When Yan Ningbai was driving, Mo Jinxi would sit on the car's trunk and vice versa. 

Both of them stubbornly acted in a gallant manner. While the other was driving, the one sitting behind would wail, as if they were fighting a battle and charging to the front line.

"General Yan, a huge crowd of zombies is approaching us at 8 o'clock ahead. Charge!"

"General Mo, the demons have invaded the front. Quickly go and resist, the survival of humanity depends on us!"

When Aunt Zhuang accompanied them to go down and play for the first time, she returned looking like she had been through much hards.h.i.+p.

Luckily, Chu Xi kept her company and the security of the neighborhood was good, so Aunt Zhuang felt a.s.sured about the two boys going out to have fun by themselves. She was determined not to accompany the two brats to go out and play in the future.

A small pond with a diameter of approximately two meters had been excavated near the foot of the wall. Fishes were being raised inside and a fis.h.i.+ng rod was placed beside the pond. It was pleasing to look at such a sight.

"Big nephew, big niece-in-law, I normally fish with my dad during my spare time." Yan Ningbai pointed at the small pond. "The fishes inside are stupid. They can be caught by simply hanging a steamed bun on the hook. Of course, we'll put it back inside the pond once we catch it. It's really fun!"

Lin Chu smiled as she listened to Yan Ningbai's tour all the way until they entered their new house.

Since it was a house-warming party, the two of them could not come empty-handed. They came with both big and small bags of gifts, which they placed at the door. 

When Chu Xi first walked in, it did not recognize the place, but was very excited. It did not stop leaping back and forth in the living room. Fortunately, it did not urinate at the house. Instead, it merely lowered its head as if it was detecting explosives. Its mouth was almost pasted onto the floor and its b.u.t.tocks were perked up as it sniffed all over the place.

Everyone sat for a while until it was time to meet with the owner next door who invited them to look at the rooms.

Naturally, they did not bring Chu Xi along; not everyone was fond of dogs and would treat dogs like their own children. Furthermore, Chu Xi was too active. They were afraid that the owner would not like it, so they left Chu Xi at home.

Yan Ningbai did not find going to a stranger's home interesting, so he stayed at home to keep Chu Xi company. He would go over once Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu moved over and remodeled the house.

Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu went inside and took a look as the owner courteously led them to check each room.

The number of rooms was indeed significantly more than the duplex they had in Ding City. It would be more than enough for a child in the future, even if they wanted to set up a games room or the child's room.

Lin Chu was very pleased with the layout of the house. She could not help nodding at Yan Beicheng with her gleaming eyes. She really wished she could immediately buy it and live inside after decorating it.

Judging from the way her eyes glowed, she seemed to have forgotten the trivial matter regarding Lu Zhenghang.

Yan Beicheng was happy seeing how cheerful Lin Chu was. He immediately dug his heels in and made a deal to buy the house from the house owner on the spot.

Because of the relations.h.i.+p he shared with Yan Huaian, the owner asked for a very reasonable price. Besides, those who could afford to live here did not worry about the difference of a few hundred thousand. Thus, Yan Beicheng did not haggle over the price.

Both parties had a delightful conversation. Yan Beicheng immediately called for Lawyer Zhou while the counterpart also called for his lawyer before they signed the contract together.

Lin Chu always knew about Yan Beicheng's decisive personality. He told her on that day that he would immediately buy it if they were happy with the house.

Therefore, Lin Chu brought a card just in case. As expected, Yan Beicheng pounded the gavel today.

Not only did Lin Chu like the house but it was also near Yan Ningbai's house. The atmosphere was usually lively, which lifted the mood and made things merrier.

Yan Beicheng also felt that Lin Chu would have someone to take care of her and would not end up in an unfavorable situation when he went for business trips. Things would be much safer now that Yan Huaian and Yu Zi would be around. If anyone tried to cause her trouble, Yan Huaian would be there to protect her.

Yan Huaian also felt that it would very convenient to leave the house, turn a corner and leave his son at their house if he and Yu Zi were not home in the future. 

They made an appointment to execute the conveyance on Monday. Afterward, they returned to Yan Huaian's house.

"You'll request for a half-day leave on Monday. We'll go together and the house will be written under your name." Yan Beicheng said.

Lin Chu had not even said anything yet, but he took the initiative to hand it over. 

Lin Chu could not really do anything about him. As she held Yan Beicheng's hand, she trailed behind until they were some distance behind Yan Huaian and whispered, "Who does things the way you do? You're suffering because of you're handing over everything to me. Do you want to make yourself a penniless man?"

Yan Beicheng lowered his head and beamed at her as his face began to glow. He held her hand while his long fingers slid in the gaps between her fingers and threaded through one by one. With a soft smile, he said, "You think I'll suffer because of you? I already gave you all my belongings. How can you still not take care of me and want to kick me out of the house?"

"I certainly won't do that!" He was holding one of Lin Chu's hands, so she used the other to hug his arm. She raised her head and gave him a lovely smile. "I still hope that you'll continue making money and giving it to me. If I kick you out, my money will run out sooner or later."

Yan Beicheng broke into laughter. After they looked at Yan Huaian and Yu Zi who were walking in front and did not turn around, he quickly lowered his head down and pecked her on the lips.

"I feel very pressured from hearing what you said. It's truly difficult to look after a wife." Yan Beicheng said softly in a low voice which was both magnetic and melodic, "I have to think of ways to take care of my wife until she becomes increasingly richer."

Lin Chu became happy upon hearing what he said. She abruptly hugged Yan Beicheng's waist, tiptoed, and kissed his chin as that was as high as she could reach. She could not get high enough to kiss him properly.

"Oh, my dear husband. Why are you so well-behaved?" Lin Chu said while smiling.

Yan Beicheng, "…"

Both of them arrived at the doorway at that exact moment. It was no big deal being intimate in front of the husband and wife, Yan Huaian and Yu Zi, but it was not ideal to be too affectionate in front of Yan Ningbai. 

Yan Beicheng could simply pinch her waist and say in a quiet voice, "I'll sort you out once we go back!"

Lin Chu smirked. Who cared about what would happen at night? For now, she would make him admit defeat.

Yan Beicheng looked dismayed as he already knew what she was thinking. He raised his eyebrows but did not say anything - his mind was already plotting how to torture her at night. 

As they sat in the living room, Qi Chengzhi, Qi Chenglin, and both of their families arrived. Chu Zhaoyang and the others also arrived one after another.

Two small groups would unconsciously be formed every time they met; the men forming one and the women forming the other.

As the eldest child among the children, Yan Ningbai led the little kids of the Qi and Wei family to play with Chu Xi on the ground. The kids mainly scratched Chu Xi's belly and fed it snacks to serve it and make it comfortable.

Lin Chu broke the news about buying the villa next door and then asked Ruan Danchen, "I was wondering if you have time to help us design the place?"

Ruan Danchen and Song Yu had just opened up a workshop together. Song Yu was an architect while Ruan Danchen was an interior designer, so the two of them just so happened to match up well with one another. 

"Sure, no problem. You think about what sort of request you want to make and tell me once you've figured it out. I'll see what I can design and make a few examples for you to see. Don't hesitate to mention any ideas you might have after looking at the designs." Ruan Danchen smiled and said, "Wait till the owner next door moves out and the house is empty, then I'll bring someone to take pictures and measurements of the house. Don't worry, I'll complete the job as fast as possible so you guys can move in."

Lin Chu decided not to be modest with Ruan Danchen as she laughed and said in a straightforward manner, "It's great to have connections!"

Ruan Danchen was amused by Lin Chu and laughed intensely. Anyway, it was not a big deal so she let Lin Chu discuss her rough idea in advance to give her a basic understanding of what Lin Chu had in mind.

"I think the layout next door is the same as here. So, I'm definitely thinking of having a game room for when I give birth to a child. Besides that, we need Beicheng's study and the gym. It goes without saying that one of the rooms will be our bedroom. Then, the remaining room will be kept as the children's bedroom." said Lin Chu.

Ruan Danchen winked, then smiled softly and asked in a quiet voice, "How many do you want to give birth to?"

Lin Chu's face became slightly red even though she was not really embarra.s.sed as she openly replied, "I haven't discussed it with him but I'd like to bear two children. How good would it be to have two children accompanying and taking care of each other! It's best if it's a boy and a girl; that means two separate rooms will be needed."

Ruan Danchen nodded as she poked fun of her and said, "You gave me a fright. When I heard you mentioning children, I thought that you wanted to give birth to five or six children!"

Lin Chu opened her eyes wide, "If giving birth was as easy as puncturing a balloon and having the child pop out, then I could give birth to any number of children!"

Song Yu and Ruan Danchen could not refrain from laughing after hearing what she said.

After this, both of them covered their lips with an odd expression as they gazed at her in a teasing manner.

Lin Chu was wondering if she had something fishy when a heaty object suddenly moved across the top of her head and glided to her cheeks, casting a shadow on her.

Lin Chu did not have to lift her head to know who it was. As she turned her head, she was kissed on the lips.

Lin Chu's face became red from being rubbed. Could he not be low-profile in front of Song Yu and Ruan Danchen? 

Yan Beicheng laughed as he explained in a hushed tone, "I didn't do it on purpose. I just wanted to kiss your cheeks at first, but you turned your head at that exact moment."

Lin Chu, "…"

Lin Chu poked him stealthily, urging him to quickly return to Yan Huaian and the others and hang out with them.

Fortunately, Song Yu and Ruan Danchen had gotten used to him due to their constant interactions, which was why they did not fear him. They were not like Xu Moyan and Zheng Yuntong who felt very uneasy when facing Yan Beicheng.

On the contrary, the two of them smiled and leisurely watched the interaction between Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu who was beside them. Their faces were brimmed as they silently laughed at them.

Yan Beicheng was brazen; he did not feel the slightest discomfort even though Ruan Danchen and Song Yu were looking from right beside them. 

Besides, he was very familiar with them.

Therefore, he told Lin Chu, "I also think that two kids are just right. A boy and a girl are fitting enough to combine the word "good". (TN: In Mandarin, the word "good" is 好 which comprises of 女 and 子 i.e. girl and boy. Since "good" or 好 is an optimistic term by itself, it is considered auspicious to have a girl and a boy in the family.) Not to mention, it'll be too arduous for you to give birth to many." 

"…" Lin Chu asked awkwardly, "How long have you been listening?"

Although she did not consider this topic embarra.s.sing, she still felt rather sheepish that Yan Beicheng had overheard the conversation.

"I just arrived and happened to hear you saying that giving birth is like a balloon being punctured, whereby the kid will pop out." Yan Beicheng mocked as he resisted laughing. 

His expression was mischievous, like he was suppressing a smile as he provoked Lin Chu even more.

She glared at him. "Then how do you know that I want to bear two children?"

Yan Beicheng pointed behind him. "It's not just me, they heard it as well. The sound of you guys conversing is not very loud but all of us can hear it pretty clearly."

Lin Chu, "…"

As she looked over Yan Beicheng's shoulder, she saw Nan Jingheng raising his arm very smugly and waving at Lin Chu as if he was afraid that she could not see it. His movements were particularly large and exaggerated.

Lin Chu mumbled to herself that she wanted to photograph his silly appearance and show it to Nan Yin Corporation.

Although Nan Jingheng looked n.o.ble, cold, and alluring on the outside, he regained his child-like demeanor when in the company of his brothers. His sudden transition was very smooth and not awkward at all.

Chu Zhaoyang was stretching out his hand to hold the tea. Upon seeing Lin Chu looking in their direction, he extended two of his fingers and swayed them timidly without saying a word.

Yan Ningbai had also overheard the conversation. As he sat on the floor and leaned against the soft Chu Xi, he turned his head and said, "Big niece-in-law, I'll bring them for a spin when you bear children."

On Monday, Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu took Lawyer Zhou along to wrap upon the process of conveyance with the house owner.

The voice was very familiar; it was softly spoken like a small white flower.
