20 Woke Up!

"First I build this planet, let life thrive on it and then I destroy it because it is no fun."

Suddenly a voice sounded in Saksham's ears. The voice sounded familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. Saksham once again tried to open his eyes and look at the owner of this voice but he failed once again. Giving up the struggle, Saksham started to think about the statement the voice just made.

"I am not 'me' and they are not 'them' alone. Although separate, I think it is the best result."

Saksham was confused by what the voice said. What did he mean by 'I am not me and they are not them'? It looked like the owner of the voice had a screw loose in his head.

But suddenly, Saksham felt an incomparably fearsome aura surrounding him. His ears started ringing, his brain started lagging like an old computer, and he could also feel something dripping down his nose. Saksham was sure that it was blood. As for his internal organs, Saksham felt as if they were going to be crushed. Though he could feel all this, he didn't feel any kind of pain. And this was the most terrifying part as he couldn't understand what was causing all this.

"But why did you have to do this…why…Didn't I give what I could to you all? Was all that not enough that you want me now?!"

The voiced roared like a lion, incomparably domineering. Saksham could feel some kind of sadness and agony in the roar. But most of the roar was filled with anger. This anger filled Saksham's whole body with fear. He didn't know why, but he wanted to kneel down and beg for mercy to the voice and confess his sins.

"If that's the case…then you shall bear the consequences of your doings…"

With this said, Saksham subconsciously knew something big was about to happen and if he didn't open his eyes, then he would miss something very important. So, he once again struggled hard to open his eyes and see who this voice belonged to. He clenched his b.u.t.t and mustered all the strength he could so that he could open his eyes. And he was successful in barely opening his eyes.

From the seams of his eyelids, he saw a battlefield. He saw innumerable bodies lay on the ground and their blood dying the earth crimson. There was not a single patch of land which was not dyed red with blood. Dust and smoke filled the air. It was so thick that no sunlight could even penetrate that cloud of dust and smoke. There were shattered mountains as well as craters as long as 1 kilometer. But what stumped Saksham was not the dead bodies but something else. He saw t.i.tans with thousands of meters of height lying on the ground, dead. And it was not just one, there were thousands of such creatures. Due to their large frame, Saksham could see them from very far away.

He couldn't understand just what he was seeing. Was all this a dream? It has to be or else how can there be such creatures? Yes! I am dreaming...I am dreaming...

But before he could continue the self-hypnotization, he heard a voice, "Exterminate!"

With just one word, Saksham saw the whole battlefield being covered in something dark and grey. This color spread quickly as far as the eye can see. It was at this time when Saksham felt that everything and truly went quite. Was he going deaf? Or was it that the world has gone quiet all of a sudden?

Before he could ponder more about it, the battlefield disintegrated into ashes. And it was not just the battlefield. Saksham's eyes widened in horror as he saw the s.p.a.ce collapsing in that area. Something was pulling everything in. Then, he saw s.p.a.ce, stars, galaxies, solar systems disappearing into ashes right in front of his eyes.

"I am tired…I need rest…The world will function the way it does. It doesn't matter if I exist or not..."

As this voice fell, Saksham's eyes opened abruptly, greedily sucking on the air. Cold sweat flowed down his head. He could hear the weird ringing noise in his ears. His eyes were blurry and he felt like all the strength in his body was gone. He tried to stand up but found that something was tied to his hands. He looked around and as his vision grew clearer, he found that he was lying in a white bed with an oxygen mask on his face and various needles in his arms. Display monitors were also on the right side, beeping after a regular interval of time.

Saksham was confused. Where was he? And how did he get here? The last thing he remembered was he had somehow been able to stop the expanding dome of fire and then he somehow fell unconscious. Saksham couldn't recall anything after that.
