The Most Majestic You

Chapter 31 Part 2

KG achieved a breakthrough in the new season after Cheng Yang joined them.  They

pushed ahead vigorously all the way till they won KG’s first international champions.h.i.+p

trophy in the Frankfurt Tournament at the end of the season.

In a bar alongside the River Main, the KG team was rejoicing and celebrating their

international compet.i.tion champions.h.i.+p.  They joked that they would not return without

getting drunk.  Xu Jimo had several gla.s.ses with them before receiving a phone call. He

walked outside the bar to answer it.

It was already very cold in November in Germany.  There were only two drunkards,

supporting each other, muttering in a language he didn’t understand, staggered by him.

The scene was a little bit depressed, but her voice was even more depressed,  “Congratulations.”

She had returned to the Ye Qianxi the first time he had met her, dressed in a professional

suit and sitting inside the high rise downtown.  She congratulated him in a cold voice.

He hadn’t heard her voice for a long time.  It sounded somewhat unfamiliar.

Qin Xiao had been keeping contact with him, but the person who contacted him was different

each time.  He didn’t expect it to be her this time.

He leaned against the door frame and whispered, “Thank you.”

He heard the sound of roaring wind inside the phone.

In the silence that followed, he sensed that this call was somewhat different than usual.

He raised his head slowly.  In the dark night, she wore a windbreaker, her hair was untidy,

blown every which way by the wind, and covered her eyes.

Qianxi walked slowly in front of him and put down the phone.

He asked first, “Why are you here?”

“I’m responsible for the live broadcasting of the compet.i.tion, so I came to Frankfurt with the

broadcast team.  I watched your match from beginning to end from numerous monitors.”

She appeared very calm, quite unlike the Ye Qianxi he knew.

Xu Jimo asked her calmly.  “Do you still fight with your family?”

“Not any more.”  She seemed very indifferent.  “My dad thinks if there is anything in this

world that I can toss around, it would be money.  He heard that I wanted to set up a company

with a friend, he was extremely happy.  Qin Xiao will have an easy time for the next round

of financing.”

This was the route he had suggested and she had moved along much more smoothly than

he had expected.

Maybe there were some people who should do what they were born with.

“Should I thank you?”  Qianxi turned around abruptly.  She pulled his wrist without allowing

him to speak, walking towards the bar.  “Aren’t you guys celebrating now?  Let’s go in to

have a drink.”

n.o.body paid attention to them inside the noisy bar.

She ordered two large gla.s.ses of German dark beer and clinked the gla.s.ses with him.

“For our Win-Win.  Bottom up.”

The large screen in the bar was broadcasting a ball game.  People burst into cheers for the

victory of their home team.  The celebrating KG players were not far from them, in the midst

of a drinking contest.  It looked like everyone in the world had a reason to be happy. But he

didn’t move, watching her gulp down more than half of the gla.s.s. He didn’t feel the happiness

of celebration at all.

“Stop drinking.”  He stretched out his hand and covered the opening of the gla.s.s.

Qianxi pushed his hand away and stubbornly drank the whole mug.  She gestured to turn the

gla.s.s upside down to show that she had drank the whole gla.s.s.  “Why are you deciding again

for me whether to drink or not.”

“Why do all the decisions made by those of you look so correct?  You’ll live better after

breaking up; it’s better for your health to drink less; don’t date a boyfriend without letting your

family know since you usually will get dumped…...I really hate all of you who always make the

correct decisions.”  She raised eyebrows and pointed to his gla.s.s.  “Aren’t you going to drink it?

I will drink it if you don’t.”

He held the handle of the gla.s.s firmly.  “Do you want to hear my apology?”

“No.”  She replied immediately.  “I’m very good at taking it easy and don’t think about it too much.

I can’t help myself if I appear in front of you when I like you. When I don’t like you, I’ll be just like

you, with a nasty poker face.”

Qianxi stood up and paid money to the bartender to ask for several more dark beers.  “If you

don’t want to drink, then I’ll go find somebody else to drink?”

He grabbed her hand and raised his eyes finally.  “Then do you or don’t you like me now?”

Qianxi stepped aside and backwards one step.  Her eyes had the kind of annoyance of

someone losing patience.  She tried to control her emotions until she couldn’t anymore.

With the influence of alcohol, she leaned over and kissed his lips.  The smell of alcohol

mixed together with the anxiety of not getting what she wanted, even her kiss was ruthless

and violent.  She shared all of these with him.  The bubbles of bear in her hand overflowed

and splashed out while she was bending over, soaking the front of his s.h.i.+rt.

The sound of the commentary of the ball game, people’s cheers, the music inside the bar,

and the endless sound of gla.s.ses clinking all seemed like bubbles exploded near her ears,

one after another. With teary eyes, her only thought was that she had to quickly escape, far

away from this place.
