Chapter 64: Improving Light Aura

Alex looked at the special items on sale at the Card Frontier. He checked if there were any items of the dark attribute and didn't find any. So he eventually looked at the ones for the Light attribute. It seemed that the shop had brought in some new stock. The Pure Lotus Seeds had been replenished, but their efficiency was terrible on Alex now.

"Condensed Light Matter - (In stock 1) - 10,000 points."

Alex had previously consumed this item once and it gave him 10 units of stored light energy on his base card at once. If he took another, it would probably only give him half of that, but now he wasn't lacking in points and purchased it.

"Purification Ray - (In stock 1) - 100,000 points."

Alex bought this without even blinking. He had been gunning for this object since he had first visited the store. He was curious to see its effects.

With this he had once again drained his points. Alex calmly exited the VR world and waited. Two hours later, a drone appeared at the dojo and delivered two packages to Alex. He collected them calmly and then shut the dojo's doors.

Alex then opened the first package to find the Condensed Light Matter, and without even glancing he swallowed it. It immediately turned into concentrated Light attribute energy that flowed into Alex's Light Base Card increasing the eight dots on it to 13.

"It indeed halved in its effect. Still this is enough to upgrade the Light Aura card once." Alex nodded.

Soon the energy flowed into the Light Aura card and 10 units of energy disappeared from the base card. The Light Aura Card had a transformation amd Alex could feel that it had reached a new level of power and control. Light Aura was now a Rank 1 Grade C card.

Alex stopped and activated his Light Aura card to test it and indeed the uses had improved. Alex could now actually partially propel the aura from his body to form shapes like s.h.i.+elds or swords made of the aura.

He then took out the next item. 'Purification Ray', this item cost a whopping 100,000 points and with this he had cleaned the Card Frontier's Light attribute stall out.

Alex opened the package and found a white root, which glowed brightly with light. The way to consume this was to eat it as well. Alex unceremoniously swallowed the root.

Immediately, a terrifyingly violent condensation of Light Energy burst out, however it flowed directly into his base card, which gave him a sigh of relief. However, what he saw shocked him.

From the three units of energy stored in the base card, it rapidly increased. From three to eight to thirteen.. twenty three, thirty three... finally stopping at fifty three dots.

Alex sighed in shock, this purification ray was too powerful. It provided him with a full fifty units of energy.

Alex concentrated on the Light Base Card and propelled the energy into the Light Aura Card. 25 dots disappeared from the base card once again upgrading the Light Aura Card now from Grade C to Grade B.

Alex felt the Light Aura Card had become quite terrifying now, he could manipulate it quite freely across his body and the aura had become very thick. It also seemed to have developed a few healing properties. The Light Aura reminded Alex of Green Lantern, except his range was still only a few meters and it was white instead of green. Also the range of objects he could manipulate his aura to form was limited. After some testing out, Alex could sense that he could hold the Light Aura activated for fifteen minutes in total.

Alex sighed as he looked at the bell. He wanted to spend more time practicing the Painful Vibrations, however, he couldn't hurry the process. Alex decided to go to the Knowledge Tower, sell some information as well as try to retrieve other information.

Later in the day, Alex entered the Knowledge Tower, flipped his ID and found a personal terminal to access.

"What would you like to do?" The AI asked him.

"I'll sell some information first." Alex replied.

The portal opened, Alex thought for a bit and fed in information about various things he had encountered. He wrote about the curiosity beast, curiosity attribute, the one time use rank 2 curiosity card and its use. He also shared the markings he had copied from the door to the chamber. Finally he shared the new lake, valley and mountainous range as well as information about the white koi which seemed to exceed the previously known map data. He also provided information about Scarlet Tide hiding within the Card Dimension."

After feeding in all this terrifying information, the AI actually asked him to wait for at least half an hour. Alex meanwhile, used the 1000 points he had left from before to search about the cla.s.sification of monsters in the first card dimension by using 100 points.

He finally understood that every card dimension had six types of cla.s.sifications of monsters. Particularly in the first card dimension, the cla.s.sifications were as follows.

1. Ordinary

2. Primitive

3. Mutant

These three were Cla.s.sified as Rank 1 beasts because they provided Rank 1 Card Fragments on being killed. The exception was the mutant type beast which always provided a single use card, however, the grade of the single use card depended on the strength of the mutant beast.

4. Ferocious

5. Desolate

6. Supreme

These three cla.s.sifications were together considered Rank 2 beasts within the first card dimension for they provided Rank 2 card fragments and in the case of Supreme Beasts, they provided a single use card.

Alex nodded. He finally had a good understanding of the strength of the beasts in the First Card Dimension.

As he was reading through this information, the AI finally proclaimed a judgement. The information he had provided was considered valid and he received 10,000 points and his cla.s.sification Level went from Level 1 to Level 2, which meant he could access more information.
