Chapter 749: Strongest Fighter in the Land

The Giant Dragon let out a wild roar and charged straight at Ye Mo. The huge Black Lake was split right into two under the force of the Great Dragon’s charge, with tidal waves on either side rising as high as buildings.

Looking at the onrus.h.i.+ng Giant Dragon, Ye Mo remained unmoved. Allowing his body to move along with the rising waves, he remained motionless, no matter how threatening his opponent’s attack was.

“Let’s see whose Giant Dragon is stronger.”

Ye Mo let out a wild roar as his body started to morph. As his Profound Dragon Powers poured out wildly, another Giant Dragon appeared. With a deafening cry, it charged right at the onrus.h.i.+ng Giant Dragon.

In an instant, a fierce battle in the sky and above the Black Lake was sparked between the two Giant Dragons. The two Giant Dragon intertwined with each other.

As the two Giant Dragons battled, the Black Dragon slowly disappeared, with the surroundings reverting back to being the big palace.

A good few hours pa.s.sed before the two Giant Dragons finally separated from each other. The two Giant Dragons went back to their human forms. One of the two had a head of long black hair, sharp facial features, and a smile on his face. With his hands at his sides, he looked at Ye Mo in silence.

As for Ye Mo, he had collapsed to the ground, panting heavily with his forehead covered with sweat.

“Patriarch Dragon Martial?”

Having toiled with his opponent for so long, Ye Mo would be a real fool if he still couldn’t figure out his ident.i.ty.

“You brat. Patriarch Dragon Martial? Call me Master!” The smile on the man’s face instantly disappeared as he said with a hint of anger, “You have reaped so many rewards from the Giant Dragon Lake. You even managed to boost your Heart Training to Level Seven. Even I myself hadn’t reached such a level at your age.”

“Master? Who exactly are you?” Ye Mo was exasperated, completely clueless.

“I am Mu Longwu, also known as the Patriarch Dragon Martial.”

Putting both hands behind his back, Mu Longwu heaved a sigh as he said, “Who would have thought that after someone took the Rising Dragon Pillars from the Divine Realm 20 years ago, the successor of the Rising Dragon Pillars would one day appear before me. Is that fate? Is this the pa.s.sing of the torch?”

“The Rising Dragon Pillars—are they really from inside your body?”

Ye Mo was stunned. He had guessed that the Rising Dragon Pillar was something that was part of the Patriarch Dragon Martial’s inheritance, but he hadn’t expected his guess to be confirmed.

“You must be that woman’s son, am I right?” Mu Longwu said lightly. “You look like her. Why is she not with you? She promised me that if she failed to fuse with the Rising Dragon Pillars, she would bring the successor of the Rising Dragon Pillars to meet me.”

“Senior, I’ve never seen my mother ever since I was born,” Ye Mo replied. “I heard that she was a member of the Ancient Dragon Clan, while my father was a mere commoner.”

“I had guessed that would be the case,” Mu Longwu said. “But, for the offspring of a member of the Ancient Dragon Clan and a commoner to be able to fuse with the Rising Dragon Pillars—that in itself is something miraculous.”

Mu Longwu was taken somewhat by surprise. It took him a huge amount of effort to fuse with the Rising Dragon Pillars. As a member of the Mu Family, trained in the Giant Mu Powers and extremely gifted, he would be able to send someone flying even without the Rising Dragon Pillars.

But this kid before him, not a day older than 20 years, showed up with the Rising Dragon Pillars.

“Senior, are you…?” Ye Mo was somewhat surprised. Logically speaking, Mu Longwu was already dead. But, there he stood, right before him, evidently still alive.

“This is my soul,” Mu Longwu said solemnly. “You fighters often confuse yourselves between souls and your mental state. Your soul is your soul, while your mental state is the training of your heart. Your flesh is your flesh. A fighter’s strength is made up of these three sources of power. But, at this moment, you have yet to come in contact with the concept of souls. Only by advancing to the Divine Realm will you learn what a soul represents.”

Seeing that Ye Mo was still greatly confused, he continued speaking, “Life is made up of one’s soul and one’s flesh. Since that’s the case, the destruction of one’s soul and one’s flesh will result in death. If only your mental state is wounded, only your strength level will be affected, and you will perhaps end up an idiot.

Ye Mo nodded his head, finally understanding the gist of it.

“At this moment, my soul has long been destroyed,” Mu Longwu said gently. “However, I suffered and persisted until this day because I have been waiting for you. The reason why I have chosen my place of demise to be here is so that one day, you can enter this place as well. The heavens are indeed looking out for me.”

“Waiting for my arrival? What exactly do you want to say to me?” Ye Mo asked. Mu Longwu had put so much thought into this that he had even decided on the place of his death.

“Since you possess the Rising Dragon Pillars, you should take up the responsibility of it,” Mu Longwu said. “The Rising Dragon Pillars chose you, and I have no doubt that you have experienced its great might as well. I need you to help me accomplish a task.”

“Say it. Whatever it is, I will do my best.” Ye Mo agreed without a moment of hesitation. With both the Rising Dragon Pillars and him helping him reach Level Seven in his mental state, Mu Longwu had helped Ye Mo immensely. It was the least Ye Mo could do to help him in return. Furthermore, he was nothing less than a top-three fighter in the land. That fact alone would be enough to tame a huge amount of people.

“This task does not need to be accomplished now,” Mu Longwu said with a solemn tone.”With your current strength, you are still too weak. I need you to help me and come to the a.s.sistance of the Mu Family when they are in need of help.”

The Mu Family was one of the strongest families in the spiritual martial land. Even the four main bloodline families were a tier below the Mu Family.

But Ye Mo, naturally, didn’t know of the Mu Family’s stature. What he did know was that it was definitely the family of the Patriarch Dragon Martial.

It perplexed Ye Mo that a family of such strength would be in need of help.

“Senior, there is something I do not understand.” Ye Mo held his hands together.

“Speak. I will tell you everything you want to know, along with a huge gift for you.”

Mu Longwu wasn’t going to question Ye Mo’s character. The nine Divine Realm tests that he had set out were enough to test a person’s character, heart, and will. Those who failed to fulfill any of those criteria would prevent them from reaching this place.

“Senior, why don’t you save the Rising Dragon Pillars for someone from your own clan?” Ye Mo said in a matter-of-fact tone, “If you had, your Mu Family should have produced another generational fighter like yourself and made his name known across the land.”

“You think anyone can attain the Rising Dragon Pillars? How long have you had the Rising Dragon Pillars?”

“Apparently, my mother fused the Rising Dragon Pillars with my body when I was born.”

“What? You’ve been fused with the Rising Dragon Pillars since birth? How is that possible?”

Mu Longwu was taken by surprise. Reaching out an arm, a frightening wave of force swept Ye Mo towards himself. “That doesn’t make any sense. How is this possible? Fusing with the Rising Dragon Pillars cannot be achieved with external tools. Back in the day, I exhausted more than ten years of my martial technique in order to fuse with the Rising Dragon Pillars, before finally winning its recognition. But you had just been born. How is it possible for you to fuse with the Rising Dragon Pillars as an infant? Don’t tell me the Rising Dragon Pillars chose to fuse with her?”

Mu Longwu, once the strongest fighter in the land, was completely stunned. Nothing had caused him to be this shocked before.
