40 Brokenly Epic

"Brokenly Epic" was an average guild unlike "The predators". They preferred to remain more low key. But, nevertheless boasted a good amount of high level combat experts.

"Hi sis. We have been newly promoted to the expert's cla.s.s and would like to join the guild."

"Hmm. Expert cla.s.s huh. We don't get a many of those here." Even at the mention of expert cla.s.s, the receptionist was still hesitant and it looked like she was leaning towards a rejection.

Taking a note of the receptionist actions, s.h.i.+ Meng quickly added, "My brother Dia Meng is a part of the guild and I had already talked to him about joining."

"Oh ya. I have those orders right here with me. Sorry, he didn't tell me anything about you guys being in expert cla.s.s. So, I couldn't make an exception. Well, anyways, welcome s.h.i.+ Meng. And who is your pretty friend here ?"

"Hi, I am Eluraa. I am s.h.i.+ Meng's cla.s.smate from the expert cla.s.s. I would also like to join here."

"Sure. We are more than happy to welcome both of you. We just have a strict protocol to weed out quitters and some others."

"Thanks"

"So, before we go further, do you guys have a personal xenon by any chance ?"

"Yes, we both have."

"Awesome. So the registration process is pretty straight forward then. You can use this link to update information on your xenons. This way we can keep track of the guild contribution points."

After completing some formalities, the duo followed the receptionist for a tour of the guild base. Though it was not a top ranking guild, there were plenty of amenities conveniently littered around the building.

They had their potions unit, equipped with different grade cauldrons. They also had a separate pills unit, equally well-equipped. Both pills and potions require different types of concoction methods and materials.

They also had their own metal smithing units. More importantly, they had their own engineering and rune units as well. All of these were equipped and the users need to pay a certain amount of guild contribution points before accessing.

Then, they finally ended their tour at the mission table. Various missions had been posted there and guild members can choose appropriate ones for perusal and attempting.

Both s.h.i.+ Meng and Eluraa seemed to be having the same idea and were scanning the mission table thoroughly for any level 1- C to F cla.s.s missions. This was one of the advantages of joining a guild and this is mainly why people joined a guild.

Missions ranking from C to F have been throughly investigated and there would be no chance of any surprise incidents or ambushes whatsoever. However, missions ranked B and higher, have a very big chance of unexpected incidents.

Missions, which have not been throughly investigated due to pressing circ.u.mstances were also ranked higher. Same goes for lower level missions located in areas neighbouring to dangerous territories. Further, they are also cla.s.sified into different levels based on the magical beasts involved.

For a new Level 1 combatant, it is a safe bet to choose appropriate levelled missions ranking from C to F. However, the downside is that not many of these missions are available.

Missions are distributed to different guilds as soon as they come in from the scouters' a.s.sociation. But there were around 30 guilds and only limited number of missions. Also, usually rank C to F missions are highly sought after by life style combatants, especially at lower levels.

These people are specialised in alchemy or engineering or weapon smithing and are not really interested in taking riskier missions. Their aim is to not become a top combat expert but just to increase their physical level and mana level to make their professions a little bit easier.

For instance, the royal alchemist's level is at 165, but he will still lose in a spar with a level 100 or even level 75 trained military combatant. But still, guilds gave preference to their life style combatants, because they supply the other guild members with weapons, potions, armours and life saving runes.

These are highly essential for survival, once outside these city walls. Unfortunately, s.h.i.+ Meng and Eluraa were not able to find any currently available level 1 rank C to F missions. Just when they were discussing their next move, a group of life style combatants reported to the receptionist.

"Hey there Sally! We are leaving for the Dakuta village now. Too bad this is only a level 2 mission. We are all at level 5 here. This is practically a waste of time."

"Well Lu Su, you are always welcome to not pursue it", Sally curtly replied.

"Ha ha. I was just kidding. I happen to be in need of some low level cores too. Perfect timing !", the group leader Lu Su laughed it off.

Sally, suddenly thought of something interesting and smiled brightly, "Hey we got two new comers here. They just joined today. Lu aren't you close with Dia Meng. This is his brother, s.h.i.+ Meng. Do you guys want to take these two as well? I know Dia Meng would appreciate some tutoring to his little brother."
