The first thought which came to her mind was that all this could be a training simulation. But she wasn't given any prior notices or she hadn't even heard of a training of this type before. So what was happening? Was this some sort of emergency drill? Eluraa's mind was racing madly.

"Forget it. Maybe this is some weird drill using illusions. There is no way that b.i.t.c.hy Reina is dead. The first thing I need to do is search for some academy instructors. But just to be safe, I am going to cast some protection spells on myself".

Eluraa knew that her biggest weakness was having a frail body and that any surprise attack could take her down in an instance. So, she immediately cast four of her strongest earthen defense spells on herself.

She then tried to climb up the main hall's staircase to access the ceiling level window. She decided to first check out what was happening outside. It was all blurry from a distance but she could still make out an outline of an intense on going battle.

There were several random magical creatures littered all over the academy and they were all behaving with a violent nature. The harsh reality finally, slowly dawned on Eluraa, smas.h.i.+ng all her hopes for a simulation based training event. Reina was really dead. The peaceful atmosphere had been torn apart into shreds. She immediately realised the impending danger she was in.

Eluraa calmed herself down. This was her second chance at life. It hasn't even been that many years yet. She was barely 12 years old. She was not going to be defeated today. She needed to figure out an escape strategy from here.

First, she tried sending out a distress signal from her xenon. But, for some reason, the signal was not transmitted successfully. The opposite party had come completely planned. They must be using some sort of signal jamming spells or equipments. If she tried a little bit, she might be able to undo the signal jamming spells, but it would be useless, if there were signal hampering equipments as well. She had to think of some other way.

Eluraa decided that the best strategy for her, right now, would be to safely reach the teleportation portals room. But the enemy had already known about the xenon signals and had prepared a counter for that. If the complete destruction of the academy was the main goal of the enemy, the teleportation portals room would be a high priority one and could be potentially dangerous.

Eluraa had not mastered the spatial and temporal elemental spiritual energies completely yet. And she had witnessed the casting of the ma.s.sive teleportation spell only once. Hence, casting her own teleportation portal was also out of the equation.

Putting aside these thoughts, Eluraa quickly tried to think about what else she could do in this situation. She suddenly remembered that there are blue prints of the different academies in her xenon. She accessed the blood academy's blue print and found a emergency portal room in the office underneath Lord Lingtian's main office.

Eluraa decided that this was the best course of action for now. She slowly and cautiously approached the emergency portal room. She had also cast a subsequent concealing spell on herself.

In another corner...

"s.h.i.+ Meng ! Are you sure we are doing the right thing. We just narrowly managed to escape the attacks from the main teleportation portals room. If we hadn't gone in with a bunch of cla.s.smates and it was just the two of us, there was no way we could have escaped that ma.s.sacre. It is a miracle that we are still alive." Jian Tan was almost down to his last strand of energy.

Just like Eluraa, s.h.i.+ Meng and Jian Tan had also approached the teleportation portals room with their batchmates. But unfortunately, a huge array of beasts were waiting for them there and they were ambushed. s.h.i.+ Meng had to use his life protecting armor his father had gifted him. It teleports the user and the people near the user 2000 yards away.

In the end, only s.h.i.+ Meng and Jian Tan managed to be teleported away to another part of the main hall. From there, s.h.i.+ Meng had also thought of the academy's blue print and both s.h.i.+ Meng and Jian Tan cautiously approached the emergency portal room.

However, when they were almost near the entrance of the room, a two-horned sabertooth managed to sniff out the blood from Jian Tan's injuries and growled from behind them. Both s.h.i.+ Meng and Jian Tan turned around and froze in fear. Standing in front of them was a level 15 beast at the least and they were merely level 0. It can kill them in an instant. There is no out running it or escaping it now.

"Aha ha ha ha" s.h.i.+ Meng laughed out loud in desperation. So, this is how it is going to end. And, they all had thought that he was meant for far greater things, the amazing sixth prince, the one who was born with an affinity deeper than red. But this is how he was going to die. Weak and helpless. How pathetic.
