Not too far below the small cliff which was less than ten feet tall, there were five humans surrounding a huge eight feet tall silver coloured ape.

With hesitation in every one of the humans' eyes as they looked towards the ape which was waiting for them to make a move, and the various footprints on the ground which were running away from this place, Yang Shen after adding what he heard before came up with an idea regarding what had happened before he arrived here.

Though he couldn't tell how many people there were before, Yang Shen was sure that quite a lot of people had escaped after Silver Back Ape had turned berserk.

With so many humans escaping in so many directions, the Profound Beast must most likely have focussed on a few particular individuals. And the ones whom Yang Shen could see standing in a group should most likely be those unlucky ones.

When one said that a beast had turned berserk, it didn't mean that their already low intelligence dropped even lower.

Instead, what it meant was that the beast no longer cared about how much it was injured and purely focussed on killing its enemies. When a beast entered such a state, injuring it, or being injured by it were neither good things because the more blood it saw, the more berserk the beast would turn.

Due to this, escaping and waiting for the berserk state to disappear and then killing the beast which would be weakened was a common strategy that almost every mercenary and hunter followed.

However, looking towards the almost twenty dead bodies littered all over with not even a single one of them possessing a complete corpse, Yang Shen doubted that those who escaped would come back.

At the same time, Yang Shen seemed to finally understand how strong a Low Grade Profound Beast was.

After all, due to how he escaped from quite a lot of them by using his raw strength to push them back and sprinting away when he was all alone inside the forest, Yang Shen didn't put the Low Grade Profound Beasts in his eyes at all.

But looking towards the dead bodies, most of which belonged to the Golden Core Realm and a few in the Qi Gathering Realm, Yang Shen felt lucky that he had chosen to escape all the times he encountered Profound Beasts and not fight them.

Excluding her who was at the peak of the Qi Gathering Realm, the rest of those around her were all at the 7th Level of Qi Gathering Realm making them completely useless in front of the huge beast whose skin was immune to all Artifacts below Level 6.

As for the sole cultivator in the Golden Core Realm, he was a useless trash who could only spout nonsense.

Even when push came to shove, he would never show a backbone and instead start pathetically grovelling in fear.

Smiling wryly as her life flashed in front of her and she imagined how different her life would have been if she hadn't fallen for her now husband's then flowery c.r.a.p, the woman got ready to face her death when something which the female lead of a story would experience took place in front of her.

The Silver Back Ape was quite a famous Low Grade Profound Beast.

Starting from its fur which was sold for a high price due to how unexpectedly soft it was, all the way till its hard bones which were used by blacksmiths when creating Artifacts, almost no part of the Silver Back Ape was useless.

Well, excluding its meat which tasted rancid, that is.

And looking towards this beast as it got ready to kill the beautiful woman, Yang Shen no longer stayed on top of the cliff and watched everything like a spectator.

Instead, he decided to intervene.

It wasn't to save the beautiful woman and make her owe him a favour or anything though. What Yang Shen wanted to do was take advantage of the situation where the ape was focussed on the five people in front of it and kill it one single sweep.

It might have been impossible for Yang Shen to kill a completely healthy Low Grade Profound Beast, but given that he was going to launch a sneak attack on the injury riddled ape, there was no doubt in his mind that he would be able to kill it.
