Before I am able to even turn my head to greet back. He grabs the letter from my hands and starts reading it.

I offer no resistance at all and just let him have it.

'It's not like I have to be hiding it right?'

After his done perusing the content, he leans in and grabs my arm. And then much like a jealous girlfriend says teasingly, "OOOH! Isn't my dypa popular"

How I wish I can hit his smug face right now. It is just so punchable.

Ignoring his antics, I motion for him to return the letter, which he does. I then ask, "Do you know who this 'Ester' girl is?"

"Yeah she's the pretty princess, a year below. If it weren't for Joo-hyunssi, Ester would probably be the prettiest girl in school" He says.

Since this is the first time I've ever received a confession letter, I'm at a loss at what to do. "What do I do now then?" I question. Jaeb.u.m has more experience in these type of things.

Straightforwardly he replies, "Obviously you go see her later"

As I am contemplating what to do, my desk-mate finally makes her appearance. The door swings open and as to be expected everyone once more turns to see who it is. The only difference this time is that the cla.s.s has become deadly silent even after she offers her greetings.

Seeing Jaeb.u.m and I are so early in the morning, I can see an annoyed expression brewing on her face. The two of us together are like a chemical reaction, when we are in the same place its never quiet.

She's said on more than one occasion that we should try out as a comedic duo.

Irene makes her way to her seat next to me and after we exchange morning pleasantries, she sits down and takes out a book she's been reading.

Before she can completely disregard us and enter into a trance. I take the letter and hand it to her. I made a promise not to hide anything. And I 'm definitely not about to be one of those MC's who try and protect the other girl while causing misunderstandings with the Female lead. I'm sorry random female side character but I got priorities

While Irene is reading. Jaeb.u.m nudges me as if to ask why I did that. I just shrug. He is clearly expecting it to end badly. Too bad he doesn't know Irene's character. She wouldn't kill me if I told her rather she would kill me if I didn't tell her.

Not saying anything she returns the letter to me and waits for me to tell her what I will be doing.

"Wait for me after school okay, I'm just going to take 5 minutes" I say.

She just nods her head and puts the issue to the back of her mind and reads her book.

I turn to Jaeb.u.m and give him a knowing look. The idiot is still confused that the TV drama scene didn't happen.

The rest of the day just pa.s.ses and when the final day bell rings. I remind Irene to wait for me again before heading to the rooftop.

Jaeb.u.m wants to tag along but I shoo him off like a stray cat.

I make my way to the rooftop, and grow a little nervous. It is my first time. I don't even know what to do with my hands.

I push open the metal door and look out into the concrete laden s.p.a.ce and see a short girl with long wavy hair standing in the center looking down at her feet and fiddling with her hands.

"Hi , are you ... Esther?'

She looks up and I see her face fully. Her eyes are crescent shaped with thick eyebrows and clear bright porcelain skin. She has a little baby fat still on her cheeks which just adds to her cuteness. If I were to compare looks to anyone it would be a younger Kim So Eun.

She shyly answers me, "Yes, nice to meet ... you"

I really don't know what to do next. So the awkward silence just fills the time.

"Uhm... thank you for the letter" I say, which causes her to blush. "You ... have a really nice handwriting"

She lowers her head but her complexion has turned pink. She is clearly embarra.s.sed by this situation as much as I am.

I continue, "But... uhm while I appreciate your feelings. I'mnot really interested (in younger girls)"

She sighs and I can she tears growing while she softly says, "Okay"

I hurriedly try to stop her crying. Honestly I really can't deal with this now , "But we can ... still be friends if you'd like?"

Almost instantly her face brightens up once more and she agrees. While it may seem like I gave her hope, I have a plan.

I'm going to be pus.h.i.+ng her advances to Jaeb.u.m. Let my trusted side kick fall for the girl who is interested in the Male lead. It's a typical trope of K-Drama. So it's got to work right? hmm probably. But it's not my problem.

After saying goodbye, I head down stairs as fast as I can.

I make my way to the cla.s.sroom and find Irene sitting in her seat calmly reading. As we are leaving, she hands me a pile of envelopes and before I can question her.

She proudly says, "Those are just from today".

I freeze in my place and realize that they are all love letters. I look towards her and she smugly says, "Must I make you wait while I respond to all of them or are we going?"

"We are going, we are going" I say.

Goofily I smile and rush after her . Thinking that she is just too cute right now.

I'm genuinely surprised, even the Ice G.o.ddess can get jealous.
