Elizabeth was right. He had no experience in the gaming field. All his life, Ci-ci had focused entirely on renewable sources of energy. Whether it be his "Little Sun" or the invention that won him the Grandbell Award, each took more than half a decade each to develop.

Of course, "Little Sun" ended up being a failure. Although it was useful to those poor folks from The Project of York Province, it couldn't power the entire continent like Ci-ci wanted. However, his second attempt was a clear resounding success. It probably wouldn't be more than ten years before it became the standard in West Continent.

Funny enough, although the invention was under Grandbell University's jurisdiction, they wouldn't be able to escape paying royalties to Ci-ci. Meaning, in little more than two or so decades, Ci-ci would likely become one of the richest men on the planet.

He had little doubt that they'd try to wiggle out of this somehow. But, how could he not be prepared?

"Hey handsome, what are you frowning about?" Lily walked in, wearing her usual tie-dyed lab coat. Her slim, jade-like hands slid across Ci-ci's broad shoulders as she whispered into his ear.

At the moment, they were all on the second floor of Petrov Technologies. However, ever since Ci-ci exposed Lily's ident.i.ty as a descendant of the Saito family, she had been teasing him constantly as a form of revenge.

It was too bad that Ci-ci had quite a fondness for beauties and didn't mind this little Asian vixen getting touchy with him at all.

Ci-ci s.h.i.+fted faster than Lily could react, pulling her small hand over his shoulder and sliding her onto his lap. He grasped her waist so tightly that even when she tried to stand, she could only awkwardly s.h.i.+ft around his crotch.

"You should stop moving." Ci-ci with a chuckle, enjoying the feel of her plump a.s.s on his member. "Or else you'll feel something that'll make the virgin maiden within you leak blood."

Lily snorted, pouting adorably. "Who's a virgin? I'll have you know that this lady here is very experienced."

"Oh?" Ci-ci grinned evilly, ignoring the monitors that filled his desk to slide his large hand up Lily's exposed thigh. "Maybe you aren't lying, how could a virgin wear such a short skirt? Exposing so much skin…"

Lily squirmed uncomfortably but didn't make a sound. She could clearly feel the heat of Ci-ci breath in her ear and his strong hand inching up her soft thighs. Her mind went blank as she involuntarily closed her eyes.

However, just as she was certain Ci-ci's hand would reach the line of her laced panties, she instead heard a chuckle that made her face blush a fierce red.

Ci-ci's hand didn't move back, though, instead, he lightly ma.s.saged the area, ever so close to Lily's treasured place, but so far at the same time.

Ci-ci's rhythmic breathing and hand movement seemed to put Lily in a trance. The words she could say to beg for more became stuck at the tip of her tongue, unwilling to be said whether it be for pride or a desperate desire to "win".

"How's the design coming along?" Ci-ci whispered.

"Uh –" Lily was caught between focusing on the question and Ci-ci's hand. Her face had completely lost color in some areas, but was so very red in others. She looked no different than a woman in heat. "I – It's difficult to… to design without know .. knowing the hardware specifications. B – But, I – I – I've started the research on … on what games are trending."

Ci-ci thought for a bit before he corrected Lily's course slightly. "Instead of focusing on which games are popular, focus on forms of entertainment as a whole. What kind of books are popular with the gaming demographic? What television shows? What movies?"

Ci-ci's idea was simple. They wanted to create the first dreamscape VR gaming set, so how could they follow conventional paths? If they wanted to sell people on their dream worlds, why focus on a single medium? Dreams surpa.s.sed just games, so how could they rely solely on gaming trends?

"We want to sell people on a dream." Ci-ci whispered in Lily's ear. "We want them to fall victim to their desires… For them to want so much that they have no choice but to beg…"

Lily's breathing became shallow, quickening under Ci-ci teasing.

Ci-ci laughed. "Definitely a virgin."

"d.a.m.n you!" Lily stood quickly, Ci-ci's words having snapped her out of her stupor.

In her rush, her hips moved forward, causing Ci-ci's hand to b.u.mp into a soft mound of flesh that subtly s.h.i.+fted as delicate folds of skin separated underneath the fabric that hid them.

A slight moan escaped Lily's lips. The abrupt contact after so much build up was akin to sending shocks of electricity coursing through her body, causing her to almost fall to the ground. In fact, she would have had Ci-ci not caught her.

Ci-ci chuckled after stabilizing Lily's body. He could still distinctly feel the slight wetness on the tips of his fingers. It seemed his seduction tactics were better than even he thought.

Lily harrumphed adorably, forcing her way out of Ci-ci's arms and patting down her now slightly wrinkled short-skirt.

Ci-ci only watched as she threw a mini tantrum, storming out of the gla.s.s doorway, with a wide smile on his face.

He knew this little girl very well. Normal people wouldn't have been able to dig up Lily's ident.i.ty, but how could Ci-ci not have? After all, he grew up with her.

He still remembered the adorable two-year-old girl that used to follow them around in her little green dresses. The memories brought a smile to his face that made him feel comfortable.

Just as Ci-ci was falling into a land of reminiscence, Lily's head suddenly snapped backward. "Keep laughing for now, but it'll be September soon and you know what that means."

Ci-ci raised an eyebrow. "Fall?"

Lily rolled her eyes. "The annual compet.i.tion of the top fifty universities. Your alma mater is going to lose its top one place and it's all because of you. The wave of hate you'll receive will increase in just a few weeks."

With a triumphant laugh, Lily strolled out, feeling as though she had finally taken the upper-hand on Ci-ci.

"Uh –" Ci-ci's words paused before he could reb.u.t.tal. By the time he recollected himself, Lily was already back in her office that just so happened to be directly across from his own. Seeing her happy sneer through the gla.s.s walls, he could only bitterly chuckle.

Of course, Ci-ci understood what she meant.

Grandbell University wasn't always ranked number one. Although a member of the Mortlock family headed it, it often hovered between the fifth and first rank. It wasn't until Ci-ci became a student that Grandbell University never again ranked outside of the top one spot. This had been a trend for over ten years already.

However, Ci-ci was sure that many promising youths would choose other universities due to the scandal he caused. Because Headmaster Mortlock had been punished as a scapegoat, many of the freedoms Grandbell once had were removed. This panicked some promising future students into choosing other universities.

Since September was the month of enrollment, the effects would be very obvious then. It was because of this that the compet.i.tion was always held then.

Usually, this wouldn't matter because Ci-ci would personally partic.i.p.ate, making the efforts of the other universities meaningless. However, how could Grandbell allow Ci-ci to partic.i.p.ate after what he did just a few weeks prior? They'd definitely be shamed by the public.

In truth, Ci-ci hadn't personally partic.i.p.ated in the last three years or so. He usually just let his students do so. But, he got news that his students staged a protest because his tenure was revoked and all refused to partic.i.p.ate in the coming compet.i.tion. Although this warmed his heart, it also brought trouble.

There was no doubt that without their partic.i.p.ation, Grandbell would lose their first-place rank. And who would get blamed? Would they take responsibility for being inferior to Ci-ci and his students? Would they undergo any self-reflection at all?

Of course, not. In the end, they would blame Ci-ci and make him out to be the villain once again.
