Chapter 19: Don't Overcorrect

B University had a good combination of rich culture and beautiful scenery. Buildings were standing amid green foliage, and so those who'd experienced the atmosphere were generous in praise of her.

With books in hand, Lu Jia'er walked along a path shaded by trees toward the office building. The sun shone through inters.p.a.ces of the densely layered leaves, forming a kaleidoscope of colors on the ground. A slight zephyr came stirring mottled green and yellow trees leaving the leaves dancing.

As she came to the entrance of the office building, she ran into the head of the department and the Director of the Academic Affairs Office.

"Good day to you!" Lu Jia'er saluted the two.

Department head Han Yi had always supported Lu Jia'er and gave her a slight smile but Guo Fei, director of the Academic Affairs Office, seemed to have something to say to her.

Lu Jia'er was expecting an admonitory talk from the superior because the student's confession of love to her had been among the top search results since the other day when it happened. It was not until today that it fell from the top search results lists.

"Xiao Lu, come to my office in a while!" Guo Fei, Director of the Academic Affairs Office said.

"Okay, Director! I'll put these books back in the office before I come!" Lu Jia'er answered.

Guo Fei nodded. Lu Jia'er took the books to the office on the second floor. Although she was walking away from the two, she could still hear them talking in a whisper.

"Old Guo, Xiao Lu is young after all and she tends to be shy. Please go easy on her." Professor Han Yi said in favor of Lu Jia'er.

"Old Han, I know that Xiao Lu is one of your best students. But your overindulgence of her deeds should stop!" Director Guo said.

"As you have said. But Xiao Lu is not to blame. Don't you know the personality of students nowadays?" Professor Han Yi smiled.

"I do. But I have to talk about it to her. Well, Old Han, I will handle it properly. Don't be too concerned!" Director Guo said.

"Too concerned? Don't use the wrong words!" Professor Han Yi corrected.

"Well, I'm sorry for making a mistake!" Guo Fei, the director ended the conversation.

Lu Jia'er , who had walked to the turn of the stairs, heard the conversation and felt grateful to Professor Han for his care, but she was somewhat disgusted with Director Guo Fei.

Because she had heard the inner voice of Director Guo Fei. A maxim occurred to her as a result. Some people read a lot of books and they are gentlemen while some people are rich in knowledge but they are as foul as feces.

The relations.h.i.+p between Professor Han Yi and her was a pure teacher-student one, but Professor Han Yi had attached much importance to her, leading to distorted thoughts in some filthy minded individuals.

After placing the books on the desk, Lu Jia'er went to the Academic Affairs Office.

But after three minutes, Lu Jia'er returned.

Li Lin, a colleague who was also a professor of Psychology, felt surprised. Director Guo Fei was not verbose, but if he called someone in, it would not finish for at least five minutes.

"Are you okay?" Li Lin asked caringly.

"Yes." Lu Jia'er said coolly.

"Alas, the students these days have a ma.s.sive ego. It is not all your fault!" Li Lin said in the same way as Professor Han Yi.

"My teaching methods have to be slightly corrected!" Lu Jia'er said.

"Don't overcorrect. keep your style!" Li Lin smiled.

Lu Jia'er smiled and then set about her own matters. The office suddenly quieted down.

But after a while, Lu Jia'er looked up. "Lin!"

Li Lin also looked up and glanced at her. "What's the matter?"

"Will Academician Jin Shengping give his speech at our university as scheduled?" Lu Jia'er asked.

"Yes, he will!" Li Lin answered.

"Oh!" Lu Jia'er had stopped worrying but she still had a sense of guilt.

"How many tickets do you have?" Lu Jia'er continued.

"Eight, but they all have owners already." Li Lin said.

Lu Jia'er curled her lips. Actually the Academic Affairs Office gave her five but they were all taken away by her students.

"You have tickets, don't you?" Li Lin said.

"They have been very popular among those wild students!" Lu Jia'er sighed.

"You're spoiling them" Li Lin said.

Lu Jia'er smiled helplessly. Although she liked being alone most of the time, she was at ease with students rather than being an awe-inspiring professor.

"Do you want to go to the speech?" Li Lin asked.

"Yes, but now it is hard to get a ticket!" Lu Jia'er sighed.

"Yes, it is. My friends know that I have tickets for the speech of Academician Jin Shengping, and all of them have begged me for tickets!" Li Lin said.

Lu Jia'er reluctantly said, "It seems that I can only eavesdrop at the door!"

"Why don't you turn to Professor Han!" Li Lin stared at her and then suggested with a smile.

Upon hearing the words, Lu Jia'er eyed Li Lin, and her eyes shone with disappointment. "Well, I will go and check!"

Being able to hear the inner voices of others was absolutely what many people would die for. But for Lu Jia'er, she would prefer being normal.

Take Professor Li Lin for example. They usually got along well with each other. She was well-educated and sensible, but she was still calculating and selfish.
