47 Pinch And Prune

His days had been busy and terrible, not only because he had a tight schedule in the hospital but also because Sam's presence drove him crazy. He groggily sat on the couch at five in the morning realizing that he slept the night before without changing his hospital uniform and didn't even manage to put himself in bed. He slept in the couch instead and in a position that made his neck sore.

The images of what happened last night trickled back through his head. He breathed a sigh of relief when he remembered that he managed to lock his bedroom door. No not matter how tired he can be—he must never—ever forget to lock the bedroom door.

He shook his head and rubbed his eyes. Rising from where he was, he decided against trying to sleep again and instead went to his bathroom and ran the faucet to take a hot shower. Today is going to be another long day, so he needs some hot bad to clear his head.

He plunged onto his bathtub few minutes after. He moaned a bit as the warmth of the water eased the tension in his muscles and calmed his sored flesh in his neck. There—that was more like what he needed, something to help him relaxed. He thought that he was stressing himself too much these days.

However, stressing was what all he can do. For if he was not occupied with the schedules and all that stuff going around, then he could have died thinking what could his best friends been doing all these times.

After he had relaxed himself, he went down the make some hot chocolate. He was busy in the kitchen counter when he noticed something from the kitchen's window. His eyebrows curled against each other when he saw Sam outside.

Sam was in the garden, surrounded by tons of flowers that was in there. Ziggy didn't like flowers nor hated them, but Xhemin does, as she is a botanist. And it was she who owned all those plants in his apartment's lawn.

"What is she doing?" He thought as he continued to watch her.

A minute after, he saw Sam devouring Xhemin's plants. The view of Xhemin's plants being purged by his bodyguard sent sparks of anger that ignited in his heart.

Ziggy rushed to the garden completely infuriated.

"Hey! What do you think you are doing?"

"Good morning Young Sire" Sam greeted his master.

"Who told you to touch my plants?" He barked at her as soon as he approached. But of course, he made sure there was enough distance between him and her. That is a must. "I allowed you to stay here, but that doesn't mean you are free to destroy everything that's mine"

"Huh?" Sam looked puzzled upon Ziggy's sudden reproached.

"I'm talking about the plants you just destroyed!" Ziggy exclaimed when she displayed a baffled face.

"Oh!" Now she knew what he was nagging about early in the morning. "Young Sire, I wasn't destroying them."

"You aren't? Then what do you call those branches you just cut out?" He gave her sarcastic look "If you are going to lie, make sure to hide the evidences away"

"That is called 'pinch and prune' Young sire. If you don't know" She explained "It is necessary to pinch back plants to increase branching and promote formation of flowers"

Ziggy grimaced at Sam's garden lessons. Does she think he was stupid? The word 'If you don't know' intensified the fire inside him.

"Of course, I knew what 'pinch and prune' means" he retorted, trying to redeem himself. Truth was, he really knew such process but his annoyance toward her probably blew off his intellectuality.

He looked at Sam from head to toe, disgusted by her appearance, so with her presence. Sam's tanned skin vibrated at the touch of suns.h.i.+ne as she stood there unafraid of the morning sun.

"Still…I don't remember allowing you to touch anything 'round the house. Who told you to touch anything that belongs to me?" He looked for another way to excuse his failed reproach earlier. His pride refused to settle in. Wasn't this girl satisfied with s.n.a.t.c.hing Sabina already that she wanted to take even his plants away?

"But Young sire, this isn't yours"

"What the heck are you talking about?"

"These are Little Missus' plants"

Ziggy was taken aback, d.a.m.n! How did she know it wasn't his plants?

"Precisely" he retorted. "That's my best friend's plant, so you shouldn't touch it!"

"Precisely" Sam mimicked "This are Little Missus' plants that she asked me to take care for her. She said you don't usually water them that she needs to come here often to water them personally. And because she isn't here, she was worried the plants will die in your backyard"

Ziggy stared at her in defeat. How could Xhemin asked this girl instead of him! Did this girl successfully lured Xhemin like Sabina?

Ziggy stood there for a moment, he was lost for words.

"Make sure to take care of them carefully, if one will die in your hands I'm going to fire you away!" He turned his back at her and started to walk away.

"Yes sir!" Sam rolled her eyes at him again. She can't remember how many times she rolled her eyes at him already. But this master of her was one heck of a problem.

Ziggy went back to the kitchen's counter to finish his hot chocolate. He wished he could have made it cold chocolate instead of hot. How did this girl end up in his house again? His anger and annoyance over the girl were something he could not overcome, worst was that, she always won.

Heck! He badly needed to get even!

He watched her again from the kitchen window trying to observed her 'pinch and prune'. Where the heck did she learned those anyway?

She saw Sam picked up a pot of full grown pink roses. Her face brightened at the sight of them and she smiled. She smiled in a way Ziggy had not seen before. Ziggy suddenly felt uncomfortable watching her, but he couldn't make himself withdraw his eyes. He continued to watch her as she drew the rose petals toward her face and smelt it. Her cheeks glowed just like the color of the petals, pink. She looked beautiful by then.

"Disgusting…" Ziggy whispered while watching the view he was eyeing. So, this girl was fond of flowers? " Ewww…" he added disdainful.

Ziggy thought it was sickening to know that his shameless body guard—who was pretending to be boy—liked flowers. Pink flowers to be exact. Was she not striving for masculinity, yet she had this horrible feminine flaw?

Ziggy shook his head as he continued to drink his chocolate.
