60 Osp Day 1 - Truth Of Your Mind

We walked past the enormous large gra.s.s field with the H-shaped posts, towards the large box-shaped one level building that looked like a barn.

I noticed the moonstone pillar tower building for the first time. It was situated a few hundred meters behind the barn building with its heights going well into the sky.

Our cla.s.s eventually entered the barn that was the gym; there was nothing but floor and clear s.p.a.ce inside. I frowned at the weird sigils, symbols and calligraphy drawn about the polished wood floors and white walls. They were obviously various kinds of magic wards, enchantment circles and talisman charms.

Ryuu gathered us at the center of the building within a protection circle.

I frowned at the unpleasant looks a few of the older boys around my age was giving me and my brothers, but brushed it off and continued to listen to Ryuu's instructions by watching his hands do the talking.

It seems we were about to go through a cla.s.s bonding exercise since we were a cla.s.s that would graduate the academy together. Academy life for everyone else was six years and service as a Page afterwards until they reached the age and maturity of a twenty-year-old. They would then become a knight and form part of a working squad.

War filled me in telepathically where Ryuu didn't sign.

How the academy worked was that students with similar abilities and strengths were grouped into a cla.s.s regardless of age. The ages of academy students were anywhere between ten and nineteen.

Ryuu had us line up in two even rows and stand up straight. He then asked us to call out our names and age. Obviously I was given the permission to turn around, so I could sign my bit that he interpreted. Death and War lied about being nineteen to avoid unreasonable questions. Somehow they managed to get away with it.

Introductions out of the way, Ryuu began reciting school mandates and rules. He strongly emphasised on one; the old shall not bully the young and weak. Breaking especially this rule saw a student's rights to the academy immediately revoked. They would be returned to their old life. It was rule I saw my cla.s.smates pay attention too since no one wanted to return to the h.e.l.l they came from.

We were then asked to remove our blazers and shoes to the side of the room and return to the circle. Ryuu began his lesson on the fundamentals of Semblance Magic.

"Listen up Darlings, if you value your ego." Ryuu wagged a finger at all of us.

His mannerisms ensured our silence.

I watched with delight at the smooth and elegant dance his beefy body made around us, stirring purple light over our bodies. My eyes widened at the glowing sigils of the protection circle.

"Like, this is where training begins, sweetie." Marilyn's voice perked up in my head.

I glanced to my glowing Albert chain I had refitted to my waistcoat's middle b.u.t.ton and slit pocket.

Purple light flickered about my vision as it became stronger.

I heard Ryuu's voice in my head. "Now, I will teach you the first lesson of Semblance that begins with seeing the truth of your mind. Stand still and do not move until I say so."

He stepped out of the protective circle and did a sharp motion with his hands, which made an angled prayer formation at the end. Dark light and energy encircled his body.

My heart raced and eyes widened with fear at the horror before my eyes.
