50 Operation Save Pesti: Day 1 - Headmaster Marsilien

"Phew! You brothers are fierce." Jensen came towards us with a hearty grin and appreciative slap on the back.

"Thanks War." He fist-b.u.mped War's chest. "We'd probably end up like Marla if you didn't place that protective barrier around us."

"Sergeant Ashdown. What were they doing here to begin with? Don't you have security measures to keep them out!" Death voiced his complaint with heated pa.s.sion.

"I second that question my dear knights." Keiran stepped through the milling crowd to stand before us.

He was dressed in the official Evadale Knight uniform of minus the patchwork overcoat. His single b.u.t.ton jacket held the academy emblem on his right breast pocket with the word's headmaster underneath; it was open to show his navy-blue double b.u.t.ton waistcoat, tie and white cotton s.h.i.+rt. Seeing him in an official uniform gave him an austere quality, especially with his blond hair pristinely slicked back and green eyes glaring at us.

He turned to the crowd of students and issued a warning for them to return to their cla.s.ses or face detention.

Detention must've been a bad thing because the kids instantly obeyed and headed back to school with a few grumbles here and there being muttered.

"Keiran, what brings you here?" I politely asked and gulped at his stern expression.

"I'm your headmaster. You are late." He sternly addressed me.

I c.o.c.ked my head to one side, not understanding. "What's a headmaster?"

My question threw Keiran for a loop. He gave me a strange look. "Are you trying to be funny?"

"No, Sir, my brother has no idea what one is. We were raised and taught at Gat s.h.i.+em, so we never went to a school." Death politely answered for me.

"Oh, well, I manage the affairs of this school. Whilst you are in the care of the academy, your learning and well being is my responsibility." Keiran answered with a softer tone to his voice.

"Back to the problem at hand." He turned his attention to Wilfred and Jensen who had been trying to sneak away. "Knights. I need you triple secure this area then call your captain and colonel to my office. This is a catastrophe!"

Wilfred and Jensen bowed. They gathered the bystander knights into action and hurried off to do as they were ordered.

"You gentlemen, come with me." Keiran sighed and led the way down the path to the academy.
