"Are you okay?" Zion asked.

"How did I wake up?" I asked, "Everything was going fine! I don't remember falling asleep! I was with—"

William's eyebrows furrowed as he leaned forward, "You were with what?"

I opened my mouth to speak but I was cut off by Sarah's soft voice, "Me,"

"What?" Liam asked.

"How is this possible?" Kasey said while walking over.

"There's a lot that I cannot believe is possible," I started, "My mother is alive,"

"She's supposed to be alive because you're in the past," William stated.

I shook my head, "If that is the case then I'm supposed to be a baby because she supposedly died when I was a child except when I went back I was 18 and she was still alive,"

"What year is it there?" Zion asked.

"1993,"

"What exactly happened?" Jennie asked.

"I woke up in a room and my mom came in and my birthday was a few days ago and that's when I went to Zims Academy which is a school..."

"For mutants," Everyone finished. I nodded.

"I found out that the school is for mutants of the ages 18 until 23 which means that I am 18 there!"

"You don't age," Mikey whispered.

"I'm like you!" I exclaimed, "I was born in 1975 and I have a little brother who I've never met,"

"It's 2019 now which means you're not actually 22 but you're..." Mikey started.

I cut him off, "I am an old a.s.s b.i.t.c.h!" I cried.

Mikey leaned over and tried to wrap his arms around me but William groaned and pushed him away. Mikey scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"When did Sarah come in?" William asked.

"How did Sarah come in?" Liam yelled.

"I am a student there and it was my first year as well as hers. We were roommates and I showed her around," Sarah answered. My eyes widened. She turned her attention to me and smiled, "I remember,"

"Because Carter went to the past, Sarah's memories are coming back to her," William whispered.

"If Sarah and Carter are roommates then that means that Sarah...." Dillion started but he was cut off by Mikey.

"Is an old a.s.s b.i.t.c.h," Mikey finished.

"Why are you always saying something?" Sarah yelled as her and Mikey began to argue.

"I wasn't even going to call her an old a.s.s b.i.t.c.h!" Dillion exclaimed.

"Enough!" Kasey yelled.

"Why couldn't Sarah or Carter remember one another? Why didn't Carter remember any of this? It's as if their memories were taken away from them!" William asked.

The room fell into silence.

Each of us started at different parts of the room and I knew we were thinking the same thing. Suddenly, each of us gasped at the same time before saying the same word.

"Oh,"

"Lay down! We have to find out who f.u.c.ked with your head!" Mikey yelled as he grabbed me by my forehead and pushed me back onto the bed. I couldn't tell what anyone was saying because we were all yelling at one another at the same time.

"Move, you old b.i.t.c.h!" Mikey yelled at Sarah.

"We are the same d.a.m.n age!" She exclaimed before elbowing him.

"Oh G.o.d," William whispered as he rolled his eyes and placed his hands on the side of my head. He gave me a soft smile and spoke, "I know I said for you to not change the past but do what you have to do!" I didn't get to say anything because I let the darkness overcome me.

I shot up and looked around the dark room. Sarah slept peacefully in her bed. I was back. I was away from the present and back in the past. Tossing the covers back, I stepped out of bed and walked towards the window. The sky was a light blue signaling that a new day was about to begin. I glanced at the alarm clock that sat on the desk as it read 7:15. I picked up the schedule that laid on the desk and scoffed when I realized that my first cla.s.s would begin at 8:00.

"You're awake?" I heard someone ask. I turned around to see Sarah sitting up in bed.

"Yes,"

"Are you alright?"

"Yes,"

"Good! You pa.s.sed out yesterday! I had no idea what was wrong and Professor Porter came over and told me that you had been feeling ill for a few days so he sent one of our cla.s.smates to carry you here," She explained.

I nodded, "Sorry about that! I feel much better now!"

"Professor said that you didn't have to go to any cla.s.ses today,"

"I'll be fine," I replied.

Sarah nodded before picking up my schedule and smiling huge at it, "We have our first cla.s.s together!"

I sighed in relief, "Thank G.o.d! You're the only person that I know here!"

Sarah laughed and grabbed her toiletries before walking towards the bathroom that was connected to our room, "Let's get our day started!"

We were now headed to our first cla.s.s together. I smiled softly at everyone we pa.s.sed by as they chatted. They seemed to be so carefree. Little did they know, their futures would be anything but carefree. They would have to spend most of their times being careful.

Walking into the empty cla.s.sroom, Sarah and I immediately went to the back of the room. I sat my books on the desk and sat in the chair as Sarah did the same.

"I hate sitting in the front," Sarah started, "Especially in this cla.s.s because I heard that Professor James spits so much!"

I giggled, "It's a good thing we chose the back then!"

"Exactly!"

For the next few minutes, we watched as the cla.s.sroom slowly filled up with students. Each of the desks had someone sitting in them except for two. I looked at the book that laid across my desk before rubbing my fingers against the gold letters.

Power Abilities.

"This cla.s.s is for our powers?" I whispered to Sarah as she tapped the pencil on her desk.

"Yes! In this cla.s.s, we will learn how to control our powers and what all we can do with them!" She answered.

I glanced at our schedules and nodded, "Our next cla.s.s is self defense,"

"I think the self defense cla.s.s is pretty self explanatory,"

Before I could reply, our professor entered the room and began to write his name across the board. He demanded everyone to open their textbooks to a certain page and everyone followed his directions. I pulled out my notebook and prepared for the next directions but my attention ended up going on the student coming through the door.

"I'm sorry that I'm late!"

"It's the first day of cla.s.s and you're already late! I expected better from you Michael especially since your Brother was such a terrific student," Professor James spoke.

I stared at Mikey as he clenched his jaw, "I am not my Brother,"

"You're right about that,"

"Because unlike him, I am here and I am alive!" Mikey growled. Professor James stood there for a minute before pointing to the desk near Sarah.

"Have a seat,"

"I will take a seat," Mikey mocked before walking towards the empty desk. Professor James turned his attention back to the board and began to write again. I quickly began to write the notes down but I could feel Mikey's eyes on me the entire time.
