About 30 moves later, he was utterly defeated by Yun Yanli. There were significant injuries all over his body at this point. Kun Xueyi was no longer able to fight. However, he still had a few tricks up his sleeve, which he had not utilized. His first thought was to shrink to the size of an atomic particle and escape.

However, the spell did not quite work the way he intended as his body did not shrink to the size that he wished. Instead, he only managed to reduce his size by half and turned into the size of a toddler.

Astonished, he could hear Yun Yanli mocking him. "I know everything about the Kun and have come prepared for all the ways to capture one. Kun Yunzhan, accept your defeat and give me the pearl now! If you cooperate, I may consider keeping your dead body intact. Otherwise, I will shatter it into pieces."

He raised his hand, and another streak of golden light could be seen flas.h.i.+ng towards Kun Xueyi. This time, he was not simply creating a net; he aimed to kill. A net was launched toward Kun Xueyi, but it was filled with enchanted needles that would penetrate his skin and poison his body. Judging from the ruthless attacks from Yun Yanli, the poison would probably kill Kun Xueyi immediately. 

The net was enormous, and there was no time for the creature to escape in his current condition. However, in the nick of time, a green figure flashed before his eyes right before the net touched him. The figure seemed to have pulled the mythological creature away. 

"Swoos.h.!.+" After a brief interruption, Kun Xueyi disappeared into thin air. The empty venomous net fell from the sky. Yun Yanli was obviously furious that his attempt to tame a mythological creature ended up futile.

The green figure was actually Gu Xijiu. He did not expect her to show up just in time to save Di Fuyi's subordinate. He took a deep breath to calm his explosive rage. If she was here, Di Fuyi must be nearby, too. If he could find her, he could find Di Fuyi as well. With a swift turn, he began his search by tracing her aura.

Gu Xijiu flew as quickly as she could without stopping. After about a dozen teleportations, Gu Xijiu brought Kun Xueyi into a mountain covered by a dense forest. Among the greens, a stream twined across the valleys. Along the fertile banks were some natural boulders that stood against the current, forming a natural array formation.

Gu Xijiu quickly escaped into the array formation with her teleportation skill. She took a few quick turns between the boulders and ventured through every gap that they could fit. All Kun Xueyi could see were stones flas.h.i.+ng by like a dazzling light.

Shortly after, Gu Xijiu finally stopped to observe the creature's shrunken body. "Are you all right?"

Kun Xueyi quickly withdrew his hand from hers and bowed to her. "Miss Gu, a pleasure to see you."

He looked around and was confused. "Where is the Devil King?"

At this moment, the creature had the face of an adult but with the body of a toddler. It was not a pleasant sight by any means. Even Gu Xijiu felt that it was rather weird. She was actually present when the creature flirted with Yun Yanli. He seemed to enjoy their brief encounter and was able to irritate Yun Yanli. However, his disproportionate body made him look rather odd now. 

"He is safe now," Gu Xijiu only answered briefly. The fact that Di Fuyi had turned into a jade statue had to be kept confidential. It was easy for Gu Xijiu to conceal the truth as she did not need to lie. Di Fuyi was indeed safe. Gu Xijiu had placed him safely in a secret cave, a place where Yun Yanli could never get close.

After Di Fuyi was turned into a jade statue last night, she had immediately contacted Guardians Jin and Hua to blow up Yun Yanli's residence, thus revealing the starry formation that no longer bore the same look. While utilizing an invisibility spell, she carried Di Fuyi's statue in the air and pretended to be a celestial being that had just descended from above to serve as a savior to the people of Leguo City. Then, she left swiftly via teleportation.
