Chapter 27: The Dragon Makes His Move

A few months have pa.s.sed. Today's event started with this conversation: "You want to go outside?" I asked for confirmation. "Yes." Una replied. I was talking with Una on the twenty-third floor, which is the lowest floor at the moment.

"Father. For your own sake, you have ordered us to strengthen the dungeon. However, no matter strong we become it is useless if we do not know anything about our enemy."

'Hmm, that's certainly true.' I hid because I was afraid of the adventurers. Underground, I'm safe. The Accurate Crow and White Wyvern are not a threat so long as I remain here. Unless provoked, the White Wyvern is a harmless monster for the most part. And as for the Accurate Crow, it won't bother coming underground just to destroy the dungeon.

However, an adventurer, a human is another story. They actively search for dungeons to hunt monsters. Since I came to this world, I have never met a human. I certainly do have the information about them, but at the same time I also can't completely trust that information. Elibel's knowledge is definitely valuable, but since I don't know how long ago it was last updated, it's very possible that things have changed. I just want to know how many years have pa.s.sed since the ruins were built. If it has been hundreds of years, then the knowledge of Elibel's time is hardly useful. It's like solving modern literature when you've only been studying cla.s.sics.

The dungeon has now become a lot larger now. Furthermore, each floor is now unique. The defense composed of soldier ants, golems, high golems as well as golem homunculi have also improved. I think it'll take about a year to completely conquer this place.  

"Besides, training with Lady Ann has made us much stronger. If the worst is to come while we're outside, we are more than capable enough to escape." Una commented.

'Mhm. I can certainly feel that her magic is increasing.'Besides, she trained with Ann who is a king-cla.s.s monster now. Even if they encounter Accurate Crow or White Wyvern they can still run away from them.

"I understand. However, there are a few things that you must bear in mind. Return immediately after collecting information of the surroundings and be sure to close the entrance when you leave. How about it?" I propose. "That's fine with me. I'll also need someone to come with me." she curtly replied. Later, she devised a concrete plan for her trip outside.

"I will now announce those who have been chosen."

Before me is a line-up of main members of the dungeon. Currently gathering here are me, the golem homunculi, Ann, Prull and also golems with high intelligence among the animal-types.

"There will be three members in the party that will execute the Eld Desert exploration." Even though I said that, it will only be the golem Homunculi. The party members will obviously be the human-type golems. Una, Dos and Tres. They totally look like a human. When we're talking about blending in with humanity, they are definitely the best choice. The one thing that most surprised me was Dos who decided to tag along. To be honest here, I was thinking of only sending Una and Tres. Never had I thought he taken interest in it too.

"I want to see the outside world." Dos managed to put into words after a long silence. As I was about to continue, I got interrupted. Tres wants to take Prull with her, but nevertheless I can't allow it. Prull, originally my source of spiritual healing, has now evolved into a King-cla.s.s designated species. It will bring a lot of mayhem if it were to be found by other people.

There are three goals. First, to understand the surrounding area. Second, to investigate the people living around here. Third, to obtain intel regarding the outside world via interaction.

Well, that's the gist of it. I gave them the detailed instructions. However, if they can't talk through this device, I want them to escape before things get dangerous.

"I want each of you to have this." I gave each a ping-pong sized magic stone.

"Father. What is this?" Una inquired.

"It's called communication magic stone. By inserting magic into it, we can communicate with each other from afar." It's another world's version of a cell phone. I found it in one of the hidden rooms of Elibel's ruins. Miss Elibel you really can do anything.

With this, I can get in touch immediately if something were to happen. If it's just normal thought transmission, the effective range is different for everyone. My effective range is 100 meters in radius by the way. Well, in the dungeon it's limitless. Ann can also do the same. However, it's only within the dungeon. Like previously mentioned, the range is limited outside. However, with this magic stone, as long as there's magic, you can talk wherever you are. Also, I have one spare with me. Its a subst.i.tute for a restoration item in emergency.

"I understand father. If you excuse us, we'll be on our way." Una a.s.serted

"Yup, be careful out there." I replied.

"Yes, I'll keep that in mind." responded Una.

"See you later dad." added Tres.

"…" Dos silently nodded.

I never see him talk at all. Maybe he's the silent type. Or maybe it's because he looks just like zas.h.i.+ki-waras.h.i.+. He's a male though.

Thus, the three golem homunculi began their first journey outside the dungeon. 'Huh, what's that? What am I going to do? I'm not going out. I'm scared of the outside. Besides, I can still get the outside view from here thanks to the shared vision from Una. So why should I when I can just stay here and learn by watching television. Now, I wonder what the outside looks like after a while.' While I'm excited, I already know what Una will see.

Ann has actually already completed a land survey through her soldier ants.

In addition, she has already reported to the MC but he wasn't paying attention because he's stupid.
