Chapter 186 – Off to Black Horse Island

Wheat Town.

Glanny's studio.

Glenny, who has not had a bath for five days, held a basketball-sized black pearl with his stained hands. His eyes were bloodshot and burning like it could burn people, “I succeeded!  I succeeded in making a magical equipment that is more precious than a jewel of the Han Dynasty!”

Glanny held up the Calm Pearl like he was the scientist that created Frankenstein.

"By water magic, it can suppress winds and storms by within 182 meters! It should be called the Eye of the Storm! No… the Storm Master! "

The impatient Liszt grabbed the Calm Pearl, "Mr. Glanny, thank you very much for completing the Calm Pearl for me. I will now experiment on them myself. You can have your rest now, take a good shower, sleep, and when you have rested enough, I will host a dinner here in the castle."

After, Liszt let Thomas wipe a handkerchief on the greasy Calm Pearl.

Granny looked at Calm Pearl very reluctantly. His tone was full of regret, “It was one step closer to being a sprite armament. Had you not let the Falcon go, I would have added it into the pearl to make an excellent magical equipment! Unfortunately, your vision is too short. “

"Ha ha.”

Liszt really wanted to punch him to shut him up.

But he still had a n.o.ble temperament and told Charlie. “Take care of your teacher, remember to remind him to attend the banquet tonight.”

” Understood, Lord Baron.”

—–

Mr. Elkson has finished making his magic potion and returned from Coral City to test the pearl, an opportunity that  fell on the combative Marcus.

“Ready?”

“Ready!”

“Let's get started, Mr. Marcus.”

“Yes, sir!”

The Pearl did not prevent Marcus from initially releasing his qi.

But after doing so, his power quickly waned, and his qi was dispelled almost a meter from his body.

When Marcus did Multiple Arrows, the qi on the arrow dissipated even faster.

“It is a tricky magical equipment. Within the envelope of the Calm Pearl, I can feel that I can achieve at most 10% of my strength. Its suppression effect is very strong.” Marcus said with a frown, he didn't like this feeling.

Liszt slightly smiled and a.n.a.lyzed, “If you are close enough, it can't prevent you from exerting your strength, however, it will attenuate the qi and magical power of a wind-attribute magic.”

“I gave half of my strength in Multiple Arrows , but it was sc.r.a.pping my Multiple Arrows completely."

Karl Hammer, who had partic.i.p.ated in the experiment, asked curiously, “My Lord, Mr. Marcus, why can the water-attributed pearl suppress wind-attributed magic? I have always felt that the water-attributed magic should restrain fire-attributed magic. “

“Magic suppression is a very complex magic subject. “

Liszt was in a good mood to confuse Karl—in fact, the same could be said of Glanny. He didn't understand it himself, but it didn't prevent him from relying on good memory to flex his knowledge.

“It's not that water can fight fire, it's the magic of water that can fight fire magic. All the magic in the world comes from the magic of chaos, which just shows a variety of properties. One could pry on the structure of magic and achieve magic suppression.”

Karl still looked confused, but nodded as though he had understood, "Ah.. so it is."

The experiment then continued.

After three hours of exploration, Liszt had fully figured out the suppression nature of Calm Pearl.

Within 182 meters range, wind magic was completely repressed. But the farther away from the center, the greater was its suppressing power. The said effect was even stronger at the edges. Taking Marcus as a reference, his qi in the marginal zone can be three meters away from the body, but in the central zone, the qi can't be dispelled even by half a meter.

Whether he was releasing full strength or just an ordinary level, his magic would still be repressed by the Calm Pearl.

On the surface of the pearl was a magical rune. As long as it senses qi, the pearl would produce the suppression effect. If not, the suppression power would be confined.

When it is in use again, the magical rune would unveil the confinement.

When Calm Pearl was placed in a pond near the castle, the water waves that were originally caused by the breeze quickly fell into calmness, and no waves could be seen.

It was Karl who would make waves again by dipping his sword into the water.

“It doesn't suppress the movement of the water, so in the event of a storm, navigation can still be dangerous." Marcus said.

Liszt nodded, “Yes, but by eliminating the effects of the storm, we can focus on the waves and reduce the risk of the hull capsizing.”

All in all, the power of the Calm Pearl has made Liszt very happy, "Today's hours have been spent. Tomorrow we will bring the Calm Pearl with us and set off to Black Horse Island."

——

Early the next morning.

Glanny Truth, along with apprentice Charlie,  gathered near the Flower Caravan, ready to leave the town.

"Hopefully we will have the opportunity to work together again in the future, Mr. Glanny." Liszt solemnly sent Granny off to the mainland. Although he did not like Glanny's att.i.tude, he did appreciate the mage's knowledge – he has indeed told him a lot about magic and without restraint.

“I also hope to work together in the future, Baron Liszt.” Glanny had washed his hair, changed his clothes, and returned to his original mage temperament. He put on the hood, and concealed the expression on his face. “Well, I hope by the next time we meet, you already have the n.o.ble t.i.tle that you want. “

A tick sound was heard and the carriage started to move.

The caravan left.

The sailing will soon commence.

Butler Carter yelled, “Thomas, do remember to take care of our master properly and don't slack off.”

Thomas was humbled in front of Liszt, “Please rest a.s.sured that I will do my job with due diligence.”

Carter turned and bowed deeply to Lister: “Sir, we all hope for your safe return. “

“I will return, Mr. Carter. “

Liszt led Tremblingwoods and headed to the dock along with Marcus, Thomas and some knights.

When they arrived, they found Gort, Blair and the others who had already been there hours ago. Kosto had already taken the sailors to busy themselves and prepare for the voyage.

There was no time for talking nonsense.

Liszt led his men onboard the Flowers, while the sailors were in their stations waiting for Kosto to give out instructions. A few moments later, a Red Tulip flag was seen onboard, representing the Tulip Family. The Flowers, under the hands of officials like Gort relied on oars to sail off.

They were off to sail to the depths of the deep blue sea.

As the s.h.i.+p entered deep waters, Captain Kosto immediately roared, “Release the sails!”

The sails were waving in the wind, and the swelling wind supported the Flowers which cut through the sea, leaving behind two white waves in its wake.
